Try dry embossing using a stencil, like the Chatterbox Doodle Genie. Sand the embossed area for the core color to be revealed. Then add your picture and you’re done!

Embossing is definitely one of the things I love to do in scrapbooking. And this LO is adorable! The color combo is great! Brown and orange perfectly goes well, and adding the green paper added a playful touch to the LO!
