Hi! Ellen here with my take on Lydia’s sketch. Not much time so hurry up and LINK YOURS HERE or share it on our Facebook page!
My Tuesday Tip is all about scraps so keep reading
And in case you missed it…here is the sketch from Designer Lydia Jackson:
Here are some close ups …the first one is of the BasicGrey Core Impressions and some of the scoring with my Score-Pal:
Next up the butterflies…I like to mix up the embossing folders with the dies. Folders are a mix of STampin’ Up! And Darice. Embellies are a mix of Studio Calico and October Afternoon.
AND ..last but not least…
My Tuesday Tip is to use those scraps. Now, if you are like me you need to do this right away or I end up putting them on a pile in my desk. So if I don’t use them on a card or another project immediately then I probably won’t.
So here is my card with my left over butterflies. The base is Pink Paislee Modern Prints Core Impressions and the envelope is from Maya Road. All Adhesives are from 3L and burlap string is from May Arts.

Love that butterfly idea for the card, I frequently have embossed scraps on my desk and I don’t want to throw them out and I have no where to put them. I need to remember this for next time I make a card.
Wonderful layout and card!!!
I keep a basket close at hand when working on a project to throw my scraps into. About once a month I sort and file them by theme and or color. When I need a little bit of something I go to my scraps file and get what I need! After about 1 year I go back througha nd whatever I don’t see myself needing in the near future I package up and send to either a nursing home or an elementary school for them to use! It makes me feel less guilty for having the scraps and helps the recipients because they can then make stuff with them.
Well done, Ellen! I love the bright colors! I am so ready for SPRING!
Lovely layout and fab scrappy card Ellen!!!
Thank you for your wise tip – it is definitely a great idea to use up your scraps while you have all your co-ordinating bits together
Wow…Your layout and card are Beautiful. I love that you used your scraps and they were adorable butterflies. Thanks so much for the tip too.
