Chalkboard Projects with Black Magic
Happy Tuesday! We had some website issues so we are redoing yesterday’s chalkboard post. Unfortunately, I deleted the information from my computer yesterday as well so we don’t have some of the supply lists for these projects. BUT the main thing you need to know is that creating Chalkboard projets is SO EASY with Black Magic Cardstock!
Not sure if you saw our Chalkboard Tips and Tricks post HERE. We did that in conjuction with one of our newsletters. If you don’t get our HCC emails SIGN UP HERE to get access to exclusive content like videos, downloadable project sheets and more!
First up we have Clare Buswell creating a Thanksgiving card for us. Clare combines some hand written details, stamping and chalks. Clare uses her The Cat’s Meow stamps for a lot of her projects and they are so amazing! This Autumn Borders looks so great stamped in the white embossing ink against the black. A neat break from traditional Thanksgiving and Fall cards.
And a close up of how cool the doodling, stamping and chalks look:
And now for some layouts. First up Kate Nolan-Denham working her chalkboard skills with a city scape. this really has a cool grungey feel to it. That is the great thing about distressing…anything goes!
Next up scor scor scor!!!!!!! Debbie Standard uses some random scored lines for her background and, of course, her signature hand made flowers from her Spellbinders dies.
Creating with Black Magic with the new rage for Chalkboard projects is just perfect. What could be better than black cardstock with different colored bases to do this with. You can use several different sheets of Black Magic and one you have cut them and sanded them they look and adhered them to your page you can’t even see that you were using different papers! I started this page buy using a sheet of Black Magic with the Blue base – I scored it randomly, sanding over my scoring lines. Hint when you do this it’s much cleaner to sand over the ridges WHILE you have it on your score machine rather than scoring and then sanding afterwards. Then I used some of the 6 X 6 Black magic pads and cut some leaves and flowers and punched some edges and strips. Then I sanded them to show the underlying color. I also used a Crafter’s Workshop template and painted over it to add some random dots to my background. I also used a white pen and made some random circles. Then I adhered it all and made some flowers. I used a Spellbinder’s die to cut my flowers, then I curled them over my piercer and sprayed them with some Maya Road mist – let them dry and added a My Mind’s Eye Brad. I also used a couple of petaloo flowers which I might add match the Core’dination’s cardstock perfectly! The photos are some that I luckily caught of my daughter when she didn’t know I was taking pictures!
