Create Your Own Clipboard with Chocolate Box

Gail Lindner here with a fun way to create your own clipboard embellishment to showcase your child’s homework or artwork for your next project:

My oldest is in the first grade this year and we have seen such a leap in her reading and writing skills! These days she is always writing in a notebook and I really want to remember her “newbie” writing!

I created the layout below with a photo from the first day of school and a special spot to add some samples of her writing that I find!

Year-One

Supplies:

Core’dinations Whitewash Collection – Grandma’s Locker
Vintage Collection – Rivulet
Pastel Collection - Reflecting Pool
Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection – Dried Marigold
Core Essentials Buttercup and Chocolate Box cardstock

Darice washi Tape
Sand It Gadget
Dust Buddy

Scor-Pal
Big Shot
Avery Elle & My Favorite Things Dies
Silhouette Cameo
Thirsty Script font

Year-One-cu2

I created my own background from some Whitewash Cardstock which I simply scored some lines across using my Scor-Pal. A quick sand revealed the yellow core and gave the subtle effect of lined notebook paper!

With some Chocolate Box, I was  able to create a “clipboard” on my layout which is the perfect spot to add samples of my daughter’s writing! I simply cut it to size, rounded the corners and added a clip at the top! Just sand the edges a bit to give it that worn look.

Year-One-cu1

I love this idea and think I’ll be re-creating it often on other projects!
