We are!

We are gearing up for our SECOND Hard Core Crop and it starts soon so gather up those supplies and your Core’dinations Cardstock because we have TONS of challenges for you. AND they are all Holiday related. Cards, sketches, layouts, tags, fun little projects…you name it…we got it to get you ready for your holiday season.

AND we have our FIRST gift for you!  Our Hard Core Cropper Blinkie. And it’s all dressed up and ready to go, too!

Wear it proud on your blogs and Facebook and come back here and let me know so I can put you in to win our FIRST prize pack.  Don’t forget to link up where you put it because we do random checks. You don’t want to be on Santa’s Naughty list, do you?

Just right click on the image below and copy the link or save it to your computer. Or here is the direct link to copy and paste:

Now for some deets on the crop so you know how to manage your time that weekend week.

Challenges will be posted starting November 24th (Saturday) and November 25th (Sunday). You will have ONE WEEK to complete challenges. They must be uploaded using inLinkz on the designers individual blogs (don’t worry we will have a master list here for you). You MUST use Core on your projects . You can do each challenge as many times as you like but you cannot combine them. We do ask that since we put a lot of time into planning this event that challenges are newly created for this event.

We will post a shopping list here for you soon but you shouldn’t need much more than you have in your stash. Like I said, you must use Core so make sure you stock up on that.

We started the Facebook Event Page HERE so make sure you RSVP. Even if you aren’t sure, I would suggest saying “yes” so you can get updates when we post challenges, etc.  And we are chatting up a storm over there and we had a ton of fun last time getting to know each other. It’s a great way to “meet” fellow scrappers from ALL over the world!

That’s it for now. Just get ready for the 24th!

Any questions just ask!

AND if you aren’t a Hard Core Crafter, PLEASE sign up here! We have tons of perks like sneak peeks (wink wink there might be some coming soon with CHA right around the corner) and EXCLUSIVE videos. AND there just might be an EXCLUSIVE challenge in there for the crop. Just saying there might be ;)

Thanks, Rebecca!

Here are is a detail of that sanding…loooooove it!

Once you select your card base, you can add style and color by choosing layers that come in a variety of different colors.  They even come pre-embossed and die-cut so you don’t need to do anything but adhere to your card base. Well, you may want to sand a bit ;)

3.) Embellish. Ah, yes. Stickers and Shapes!  Flowers, butterflies, tags, shells, string, buttons, jewels..you name it we have it for you packed together and ready to mix and match to add that final touch to that perfect card for any occasion.

EASY! In three simple steps you have a gorgeous card. Check out our How To downloadable PDF’s and Step-by-Step videos that will show you easy steps to create beautiful projects. We will have many, many more of these to come very soon…including more ideas from our Card Design Team!

Fab-u-lous Friday MOnday! YES..it is fabulous, isn’t it?!?!

Well, since this post was supposed to go up Friday and somehow I missed the publish button we will just pretend we are starting the whole weekend over ;)

Not sure if you saw over on our Facebook page but the HCC crop winners have started to go out! Please keep in mind we only ship twice a month and we generally get prizes out within that calendar month (sometimes there is a vacation in there and other unforeseen things come up).  We have to hand pick prize winners and each one gets packaged by a very special someone in our home office  and, if you have gotten one of our prizes before she adds a little extra something in there sometimes!) We have  had a TON of giveaways within the last month (around 30 prize packages are going out since July) AND we just  moved to a much bigger office!  So I promise we are moving as fast as we  can!

And we are finalizing the Card Design Team Call. It was not easy and this weekend we poured through them again to make some final decisions. There are so many talented card makers out there!!!

Have you seen our Seasonal Impressions by Tim Holtz!

Today we have a layout for you from our very own Mindy!  Look at all those cool impressions about Halloween and all things spooky and fun! Just and and you have an awesome and easy layout.

And a close up for you so you can check out all that sanding and tearing!

Have you gotten your hands on our NEW Core Cuts yet? No die cutting  machine required! Just a Sand It Gadget and you are good to go!

And here is a layout from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira using her Core Cuts.

All you need are some alphas and you have an easy layout…no patterned paper required! Don’t you love how Melissa used the smaller damask pieces off the page at the top and bottom going off the page?  Such a great touch…you can do SO much with this pack.

And a close up:

We continue to work on the Card Design Team call daily!

Hoping to get you some answers by next week. Thanks for you patience!

Core’dinations Card Designer Design Team Call

July 27, 2012 by Ellen
Filed under Hot Topics, Scrapbook Blog

Calling all Cardmakers … Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock is looking for Card Designers!
Please Note…we edited with some answers to your questions so see bold.

We are looking for talented and dedicated cardmakers that can not only create cards but other projects that can show the creative use of pre-made card bases (like our Core Cards that are pre-cut and scor’d. Think about it like this: if we sent you a pack of our Core Cards what would you do with them? ), die cuts, and embellishments. We are looking for cards that use all kinds of die cuts…tags, labels, scalloped pieces, hearts, stars etc. Any design, whether you cut it with your own machine or if it is pre-made is fine (so don’t worry if you do not have a die cutting machine you will not need one if chose as part of the team).
- Step One: Design and then post three projects in one posting on your personal blog on or before Friday August 10th at 12:00pm EST titled “Core Cards Creative Frenzy” Keep in mind we are looking for paper crafters that specialize in cardmaking and that can showcase pre-made card bases and die cuts with cards and other unique projects.  Feel free to include step out photos or step-by-step instructions of any techniques that you used that you feel need highlighting as we are looking for our designers to be able to create tutorials in PDF format on occasion.
- Step Two: Send us an email with a link to this exact blog posting to  coredt@coredinations.com. Please ensure the link is to “Core Cards Creative Frenzy” posting and not just a link to your blog. It makes it much easier to find, especially if you post frequently on your blog. Please include in your email your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Also include a resume of your publications and current design team obligations (if applicable).
- We are also looking for designers that are comfortable creating how-to videos and tutorials as well so please let is us know if this interests you (camera and compensation will be provided).
- If you have any questions about the application process and/or design team requirements, be sure to post them on the Core’dinations’ Facebook page  or on this post as they may be questions that several applicants would like answered or email Ellen at ellen_sosnoski@coredinations.com. New projects or the use of Core’dinations Cardstock is not required but if you have some Core’dinations and would like to create something brand new we would love to see it!
Requirements will be comparable to other papercrafting companies  and  Core’dinations will compensate with ample  product as well as monetary compensation for special projects.  Ideally we are looking for designers that have blogs to help with promotional activities (only on occasion) but this is not a requirement so please feel free to send us a link to an online gallery, flickr account, etc.
And, yes of course! International Applicants are welcome!
Designers will be asked to design for a minimum of 6 months.

Hard Core Cropper Rules in here!

July 11, 2012 by Ellen
Filed under Hot Topics, Scrapbook Blog

We need to post some rules and guidelines to get things started for our FIRST Hard Core Crop next week. Who is psyched?!?!

Remember we have details on yesterday’s post here on how to win some Core before the crop even starts by promoting our Hard Core Cropper blinkie!

The crop dates are July 17th through the 22nd 2012. Designers will be posting their challenges on their individual blogs on Tuesday, July17th. We have designers from all over the world so please be patient as the time zones will vary but they will do their best to have them up first thing Tuesday Morning.

Challenges will be posted on Day 1 and Day 2 and you will have through Sunday Night, July 22nd at midnight EST to get them posted. Schedule posted Monday. All questions should be directed to the Core blog to THIS post or on our Facebook Hard Core Crop page here.

Each Designer will post their challenge on their blog with Linkitz. You will need to link your project to that post, again, by midnight EST July 22nd, 2012.  This way you can post your projects on your blog, Flicker, Pinterest, Photobucket or whatever photo sharing site you use and then just link them. We will have a master challenge list here on the Core Blog for you so that you can keep track of all the challenges easily. Challenges will be for layouts and cards so everyone will be able to find some challenges they will enjoy. All you need is Core’dinations Cardstock. You must use Core on your creations to be eligible. Each designer will highlight a certain line of Core but you can use any kind you wish for that challenge as long as it is Core’dinations.

We will also be posting tidbits and fun stuff on our Facebook Event page HERE so stay close because we will have some fun random challenges going on there throughout the week, too!

SO…how do you win some Core???

Designers will pick an entry from their blog to win the Core’dinations Cardstock designated that day. Our team is looking for creative uses for Core (and other things like following rules, etc). Get creative and show off you use that Core’dinations Cardstock!

On (or around)July 27th, 2012, a master list of winners will be posted on the Core blog so please make sure you check back then to see if you won!  (Designers will be posting on their individual blogs as well). The more challenges you participate in, the better you chances of winning! You may do each challenge as many times as you wish but you may not combine challenges. We also ask since our Designers and Team have put a lot of time in to this crop that these are newly created projects just for this event.

So get those photos printed…stock up on adhesive…we are ready!

Details on the Guest Designer Spot will be posted here on the blog tomorrow as well.

So how about a sneak of one of the challenges????

June Color Inspiration

We have been so crazy this month we only got to post twice about our June Colour Lover’s Inspiration from our Pinterest Board.

Summer is crazy, isn’t it?!?!? Before I show you this super cute card …did you hear??!?!?!??!!?!?!??!

Mark your calendars…all you need is CORE!

Here is our June Inspiration piece…

And Debbie Standard’s take. LOVE how she used the tone on tone here. Debbie used the Stacy Julian Core Impressions line. In that pack you get pre-embossed sheets and canvas (plain Core Essentials) sheets that match so you can core’dinate easy projects like this. The different embossed patterns look amazing, too!

Add some May Arts ribbon and you have a gorgeous card!

Happy Canada Day!

June 26, 2012 by Ellen

I know that Canada Day isn’t for a few days but we wanted  to share a project with you to create just in time for that special day!
Design Team Member Char Dobson created this gorgeous project for you today with her daughter for our series Kids Krafts & Core.
Project: Canada Day Mini-Album
Techniques: sanding, paper tearing,  stamping
Other supplies: Paper lunch bags, Crop-a-Dile, Jute, Cricut Go Canada cartridge, Quickutz Canadian Collection die set, Sakura black journaling pen, Ranger Distress Ink in black, Pink by Design Canada stamp set, Images printed from the internet
Notes: We really wanted to do a project showcasing what we love about Canada; and thins that make us proud to be Canadian. My daughter chose the theme and design for each page on her own. So not only are you experiencing her artwork through this mini-album, but her own true feelings about being a Canadian as well. I mostly just ran the Cricut and helped to glue down some of those fussy phrases!
Don’t be afraid to use found objects in your house. Char actually used a wooden maple leaf that had in her house. They traced it using a stylus!
Making a mini album about your country is a great way for children to learn first hand about their country.
Trust us!!!
Kids LOVE sanding with their Sand It Gadgets!!! The Spotted collection is a perfect line because kids can see the dots right away. Don’t forget about our spotted in 6×6 …perfect for mini albums!
Paper tearing is a super simple way for kids to really explore texture AND it’s FUN!
Have your kids journal directly on the Core Cardstock like Char’s daughter did here!
And a cute stamped image on the back!
