Beautiful LO~ I like the whitewash cause it gives such a ‘weathered’ feel to my projects. I have only seen it in individual sheets and was wondering does it come in pads also? Thanks for sharing

Now let’s get today’s giveaway!

Today is all about Graphic 45 Core Impressions Timeless Collection.

We think this collection is timeless and is always one of our favorites! You can use it with your favorite Graphic 45 products or pair it with what you have in your stash like Design Team Member Debbie Standard did for us today!

Love the use of ribbon on this card from Debbie. She combines lace and satin trim and of course the Le Fleur and Houndstooth patterns.

See you tomorrow!

You can use this color palette or even change it up with some reds and greens for Christmas or an color palette for that special occasion.

Instructions for “Fall is in the Air” Candle Decoration

Supplies needed:

Core’dination Colorcore cardstock:

Graphic 45 Signature Series – Heritage Kraft GX-3100-09

Brownie 1440 CD040

Coconut Cream 1380 C020

Cardinal 420 OG020

Tank 430 OG030

Autumn VC440

Other tools:

Paper trimmer

Stylus (or scoring board)

Paper crimper

Sand it Gadget

Dust Buddy cloth

Twine

Dymo labeler

Cricut Expressions or die-cut machine

Mickey & Friends & Stretch Your Imagination cartridges

Candle

Adhesives (tape runner, double sided tape, pop dots)

Step 1: Base

1. Cut a piece of Heritage Kraft to 2 1/2”x 10”.  Run the cardstock through your Fiskars paper crimper so that the lines are going vertical when it is put on the candle.

2.  Gently sand the cardstock with the Sand It Gadget over the corrugated lines. Clean off with the Dust Buddy.

3. Wrap around the candle and adhere it place (the ends will overlap slighty).

Step 2: Label strips

1. Cut two small strips of Brownie to approx. 3/8” x 12”.

2. Place a strip of cardstock through the Dymo Labeler and “type” the words that you want on your strips of cardstock.  Repeat this process with the other strip of cardstock.

3. Gently sand the words with the Sand it Gadget and clean off with the Dust Buddy.

4. Adhere one strip along the top edge of the base and the other strip along the bottom edge of the base. Trim ends as necessary

Step 3: Creating the leaves and acorns

1. Using the Cricut Expression (or other die-cut machine) and the Mickey Mouse & Friends cartridge cut leaves like this:

<chip-s> Shadow:Base/Icon @ 2 1/2” from Cardinal 2 times.

<chip-s> Shadow:Base/Icon @ 2 1/2” from Tank 2 times.3.

<chip-s> Shadow:Base/Icon @ 2 1/2” from Autumn 2 times.

<Squirl> Layers @ 1 1/2” from Coconut Cream and then again from Brownie.

and repeat again two more times at 1” from Coconut Cream & Brownie.

2. Now cut the acorns using Stretch Your Imagination cartridge:

3. Take the leaves and use a stylus and the cutting channel of your paper trimmer (or a scoreboard) and make some scored lines on the backside of the cardstock resembling the “veins” on the leaves.

4. Carefully sand the embossed lines with a Sand it Gadget and clean off with the Dust Buddy.

Step 4: Assembly
1. Cluster the leaves together in groups of 3 and adhere to the base of the candle. One near the top and one cluster near the bottom edge.
2. Tie some string around the upper edge of the base cardstock (just below the word strip).

3. Adhere the acorns in a cluster in the center of the leaves and use a pop dot to adhere the larger one.

And one more shot of the finished project…

Tuesday Tip From Melissa Oliveira

We have some fun tips from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira.

Even though these layouts have a summer theme to them doesn’t mean you can’t use these tips for any project.

First up Melissa stamped on her Whitewash for this journaling. If you have used our cardstock before, you know it gets a bit dusty  when you sand it. First up, you really should have a Sand it Gadget to make your sanding easy. After that, you want to use our Dust Buddy.

The Dust Buddy is a unique cloth that does many things, including cleaning the sanding residue so your adhesives can stick better. One additional thing it does is make your stamped images crisper and cleaner as seen on Melissa’s layout here. If you sanded this Whitewash and didn’t use a Dust Buddy,  the stamped imaged wouldn’t be as great.  So make sure you tell your favorite Core’dinations Cardstock retailer to get some Dust Buddies. They go a long way, too!

And here is another example of a layout where Melissa stamped over some Graphic 45 Core Impressions. And of course, how cool are those torn waves in the Whitewash????

First up is an album AND matching frame set from Design Team Member Char Dobson. LOVE how these ladies worked the metal door plates from Graphic 45 Staples collection!!!! LOOK at all that Graphic 45 Core Impressions Timeless collection! We love how our Cardstock looks with shine so Char used some Maya Mist …looks gorgeous, don’t you think?

{Sigh} Paris!

Here are some details on the album. The album is Graphic 45. These premade Policy Envelopes from the Staples collection make creating minis so easy!!!! Char used Glue Arts and Helmar Adhesives to help create this gorgeous mini, too.

AND a printer’s tray with Designer April Derrick. The details are amazing.

Some details…

April die cut out the treasures title using  the Graphic 45 Signature Series cardstock and then applied glossy accents to the top so when it dried it has a 3-d effect.

Them April took the metal flowers from Graphic 45 Staples collection and ran them through the Cuttlebug and embossed them, then painted them with some Tattered Angels silver metallic glimmer glaze!  And add some Petaloo flowers. Love them in black.

We have a super cool layout for you from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira to start off today.

Melissa sanded the clocks from the Graphic 45 Timeless collection and then inked them in a “core”dinating color, just looks awesome and makes those clocks really pop, don’t you think?

Melissa colored in the clock hands with a black zig milennium pen then added a thin layer of glossy accents and allowed it to dry to make them  really shine.

Add some May Arts ribbon and you have a gorgeous layout.

Next up Design Team Member Leica Forrest created this gorgeous box and mini album for a future trip to Paris! A girl can dream, right??!?!  That is the beauty about the Graphic 45 papers. They take you to another place with their gorgeous Parisian themes and images of fairy tales and all things beautiful.

We want you hear how excited you are!

Today we have some gorgeous projects for you! Let’s Start off with a Layout from Design Team Member Shaunte Wadley. So many gorgeous gorgeous details!  Shaunte used loads of Graphic 45 products and anchored the layout  beautifully with some Core Impression in the Black Magic.  Hand cutting that Graphic 45 paper is TOO much fun! Don’t be afraid to use metal accents on your layouts like Shaunte did here with the flowers from the Graphic 45 Staples.

Next up we have a mini album from Design Team Member  Lydia Jackson.  Lydia created this mini as a gift for a friend. What better way to share the Graphic 45 love than with the most important people in our lives?  It is the perfect way to preserve those memories.

There is that cool Door Knob from the Graphic 45 Staples collection. And the Graphic 45 Core Impressions Timeless Collection is, well, TIMELESS! It goes with so many different colors and we just love how Lydia paired it with the blue.

Scrapfest Tutorial

September 21, 2011 by Ellen

Thank you so much to everyone at Scrapfest for an awesome weekend!!!

Today we have a tutorial for you on how to make the project we did over the weekend in case you didn’t get a chance to visit us or you want to recreate it. Don’t forget that Arhivers in the MOA is selling the easels and wood bases in case you want extras.

1.) Cut the base from Graphic 45 Core Impressions.

2.) Using a corner round, punch all four corners and then sand.

3.) Adhere to wood base with some Tombow Mono Liquid Adhesive.

4.) Score lines on the Tim Holtz Dusty Concord cardstock strip from the Distressed Collection. Sand and adhere to Graphic 45 Core Impressions base.

5.) Fold the green Core Essentials cardstock in half and cut two leaves along the folded edge (See step by step photos below). We recommend free handing it!!!!

Now it is time to make the flower. We like to call them Core’Sages here ;)

Design Team Member Lydia Jackson created a tutorial here for the flowers for your reference as well. (Please note the flowers shown here were created from a different color Core Essentials and Lydia used her Fiskars Paper Crimper to create the veins in the leaf).

Again, please note... For these photos Lydia used her Fiskars Paper Crimper. You do NOT need

it for this project. Just sand your leaf along the fold for the vein. This just gives it added texture. You could always score some of your own veins, too!

Now, clip your favorite photo or ink the edges of the frame and you have the perfect project!

Again many many many many thanks to all the amazing consumers we met and saw again this weekend.

WE LOVE  YOU!!!!!

Tuesday’s Tip….Title Work And Cardstock

March 8, 2011 by Ellen

Today’s Tip is about different ways you can use cardstock for your title. We love to show you how versatile Core’dinations can be using its color core but you can use it as your “go to” cardstock for any project. Today’s layout from Design Team Member is no exception.   We have a great layout for you today that doesn’t use sanding! GASP! Yes, we said it…you don’t always need to sand your Core’dinations. It looks awesome both ways!

Now on to the tip from Design Team Member Heather Boswer. Heather created her layout using a tone on tone color scheme by using a die cutting machine to cut her title.  It looks awesome! What a gorgeous and easy way to add a unique touch to any layout.

Supplies used: Core Essentials and Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions.

We would love to see how you use your cardstock for titles!
