Hoooooo loves Core’dinations Spotted Cardstock?

We are back on track with Tutorial Tuesday!
Remember this cutie we posted on our Facebook page during CHA?
Here he is at an angle so you can get the idea of all the layers. He’s a beauty!
WELL, the most awesome Designer Lydia Jackson who created this gorgeous owl using our Spotted Cardstock recreated a pattern JUST for you!  How cool is that?  PLEASE give her a HUGE Hard Core Thank you!
To create this owl that you will need are 3 colors of Core’dinations Spotted cardstock, black cardstock and a little yellow cardstock for the eyes, 2 black buttons and 3 types of Queen & Co washi tape. Tools: scissors, pinking shears, a crimper, Sand it Gadget and a Dust Buddy, Zap Dots and a Glue Arts tape runner.
First:
1. Print the owl part images on 8.5 x 11 paper and then use them as a template to cut matching color cardstock. See below.
Next:
2. Sand all elements and wipe off with a Dust buddy
3. Fold and stick  Queen& Co. washi tape around the lower portion of the eyes. I trimmed the ends of the washi tape with pinking shears, but most any decorative edge scissors will work.
4. Assemble the head with eyes and then beak and then using pop dots, pop up wings and and pop up head I used a thin pop dot on the wings and a thick dot on the head.
5. Create his chest feathers using this technique { here is this link http://lidibids-scrapnotions.blogspot.ca/2010/07/quick-leaf-tutorial.html }
6. And lastly cut or punch two hearts for feet.
Here are your print outs:
PLEASE NOTE: you may need to resize this print out on your own computer. Lydia’s orginal owl is 8″ but you can resize it to any size you wish. Just right click on the image, and click save in order to save it to your computer. We kept them sized as big as we could to fit on the blog (you will notice that they are larger then the screen) in order for you to be able to size them accordingly on your computer at the highest resolution.

{One} More day with Helmar!

Happy Monday Morning! yes, you heard me. We have another day today with Helmar.

So, this post was supposed to go live Saturday, I just didn’t hit “schedule”. I must have just hit “save” instead so sorry about that!  These things happen when you try and blog before the correct amount of coffee necessary to function.

Designer April Derrick created that shows off her love of Zap Dots and the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.  It works great on wood embellishments which always seem to need a little extra “umph” to stick since they are a bit heavier.

And check out that coverage with the misting on the Tim Holtz Kraft Core! Love it….AND that embossed chevron strop along the bottom is  a piece of Tim Holtz Kraft Core Cut and emboss 2.5″x 12″. They fit the 12″ Sizzix embossing folders perfectly!!!!

Core Products Used: Tim Holtz Kraft Core, Core’dinations Essentials, Core Tags, &  Tim Holtz Kraft Core 2.25 x 12 Cut & Emboss Assorted Pack

* Helmar Products Used: Zap Dots, 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Scrap Dots

Other: * May Arts Ribbon, Sizzix Embossing Plates

Today we have a gorgeous, detail packed layout from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira. Here is a little bit about it from Melissa herself:
I had a left over piece of pleated fabric from a recent sewing project that I wanted to use for a layout. The frayed fibers were trimmed from the fabric and Helmar Fray Stoppa was applied to the raw edges. After five minutes, the fabric was completely dry and ready to adhere to the layout. I used Scrap Dots Liquid adhesive to squeeze several gooey dabs of adhesive along the back side of the pleated fabric and adhered it to the corner of the layout. This adhesive is my new best friend! I love using fabric and fibers on my paper crafting projects, and Scrap Dots is strong and thick enough to stay where it is put and dries clear and quick. I also used Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere the title banner pieces to the fabric. The glue is gooey and flexible when applied, so I had plenty of “wiggle room” to straighten the banner pieces that landed on the layout a little askew.

1/4″ Helmar Zap Dots were used to pop up the butterfly embellishments as well as the photo.
Large Butterfly Die Cut is Lifestyle Crafts punched from Bella Blvd patterned paper.
Embossed dots on butterflies above photo are made using a Darice embossing folder
Core’dinations papers used are Core Essentials and BasicGrey Core Impressions (pink)

Get that Helmar and Cricut ready to go!

Design Team Member Andrea Amu  has a gorgeous design for us today that  is perfect for your Thanksgiving decor.

Interested in seeing more of this?  Keep Readin!

Here is a little bit about this project from Andrea: I made some Thanksgiving Decor showcasing the beautiful Core’dinations cardstock all held together perfectly with Helmar Adhesives! All of my cuts were done using the Thanksgiving Cricut cartridge. I cut the pilgrims out at 5 3/4″ each, using Signature Series Graphic 45 Core cardstock in Photogenic and Kraft and green Core from the Tim Holtz Adirondack collection. I also cut out the pumpkin design at 2″, again using some orange Core from the Adirondack collection. That beautiful embossed word collage background is some of the new Tim Holtz collection Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions line! It’s the most wonderful backdrop for this Autumnal framed decor.

The Helmar black ZapDots 3D foam squares were great to use to add dimension to layered ares of my pilgrim and pumpkin cuts.

I love the performance of the Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive! This was my first time using this glue and it won’t be my last. Seriously, where has this been all my life? It is a must have for paper crafting. Here I used it to adhere most of my layers together, to attach the ribbon to my embossed cardstock base and to apply the Stampendous Vintage Champagne Glass glitter to the centers of the Petaloo mulberry flowers. After the glue and glitter quickly dries, I applied pearl accents from Queen&Co. to each center to finish off this seasonal project.

Helmar +Petaloo Flowers+ Stampendous Glitter = Happiness!

Today we have Five Easy Cards from Design Team Member Char Dobson! Don’t have a lot of time? With Christmas just around the corner, things seem to just get busier and busier.  Keep reading to see how you can make a few cards in no time at all. Here are the supplies she used:

Core Cards, Core Cut & Emboss Series 4.25″x5.5″ (various)

Helmar: 3D Zapdots, Quickfix Adhesive Runner

Preferred partners: Helmar, May Arts ribbon, Queen&Co. rhinestones

Other supplies: Cricut Teresa Collins December 25 cartridge, Tim Holtz Christmas muse tokens, Embossing folders (various)
Here is a little bit about this project from Char:
Today we’re going to make five easy cards in about an hour. Using the Core’dinations Cut & Emboss series, Core cards, a few minor embellishments and Helmar adhesives you can throw together some adorable die-cut cards in a snap.
The thing I love about the Cut&Emboss series is that not only are these sizes perfect for card bases and embossing, but they are great to use with your Cricut or other die-cut machine. I don’t know about you, but I hate it when I have only a smaller design to cut into a precious piece of 12″x12″ piece cardstock. With Cut&Emboss I can put all the colours I want on one mat.
Already, you can see how quick these cards are going to come together. All I have to do is emboss, adhere and add embellishments.
And we’re done! How quick was that!? How about some close-ups:

And our Jenni Bowlin  MINI Calendar Cards look so awesome on cards!

Today we have Designer Shaunte Wadley creating for us using one of our favorites, Black Magic Cardstock. Get out that Sand it Set because sanding Black Magic is F-U-N!

Here is a little bit about  this layout from Shaunte: ” I used Black Magic for everything but the journaling and the Flowers. Those are Whitewash (journaling) and Core Essentials (flowers.) I think it is pretty cool how well the colors matched between collections.
The title letters were a fun technique!  I distressed them–the letters were too narrow for pop-dots–I would have had to cut them down a lot,  so the Liquid Scrap Dots worked great! The end result looks like crumpled chipboard because of the dimension the Scrap Dots gave the letters.
I used the 450 Quick Dry adhesive as a base for glitter to stick to, to give a sort-of custom brad look to my side border on the photo.

Brilliant! Enjoy!

Hanging with Helmar All Week Long!

We are here with Helmar this week and couldn’t be more excited!  We have partnered with them previously and it has been great so we hope you enjoy yourself this week and stick around ;) Sit back with your cup of coffee and be ready to be inspired.

Today we have some gorgeous designs from Design Team Member Debbie Standard. For this first layout, Debbie adds pops of colors against the black Graphic 45 Core Impressions. And you need great adhesive to adhere that May Arts ribbon down, don’t you?  Well grab that Helmar Quickfix adhesive tape runner ..it’s the perfect size for ribbon! And the 450 Helmar Quick Dry adhesive works really well for those little bits like the green flowers Debbie cut using her Spellbinders dies. You can dab some of the Quick dry on and you are good to go..and fast! No drying time needed ;)

I know Halloween was last week but we just had to share this fun layout with you using some of the  newly released Tim Holtz Kraft Core Seasonal Impressions. These are so fun!!!!!!!  Pre-embossed sheets for all your favorite Holidays. Seriously..did I say how fun these are? It’s like magic when you start sanding and all the color starts to come through.

Remember to use that Dust Buddy after you sand so that adhesive sticks better.

The Grande Finale with Graphic 45

Today is our last day with Graphic 45 but that doesn’t mean that you won’t see more Graphic goodness here in the future. Don’t forget that we have one of these awesome packs for grabs, too! Our Signature Series Cardstock...it’s FabUlous! In the past we have teamed up with Graphic 45 for our Core Impressions and this past summer we debuted the Signature Series. Now you can get the gorgeous Graphic 45 designs on our cardstock AND their “signature” colors! So if you have loads of Graphic 45 sitting at home waiting to be used, this pack of cardstock will match perfectly.

AND of course we are giving one away here!!! Make sure you head over to the Graphic 45 Blog for more chances to win!

AND we always do a little something over on our Facebook page, too, so make sure you check in there often. Graphic 45 has a Facebook page so make sure you go over there and tell them how much you looooove them :) :):)

We have some amazing altered pieces for you today.

First up is an album AND matching frame set from Design Team Member Char Dobson. LOVE how these ladies worked the metal door plates from Graphic 45 Staples collection!!!! LOOK at all that Graphic 45 Core Impressions Timeless collection! We love how our Cardstock looks with shine so Char used some Maya Mist …looks gorgeous, don’t you think?

{Sigh} Paris!

Here are some details on the album. The album is Graphic 45. These premade Policy Envelopes from the Staples collection make creating minis so easy!!!! Char used Glue Arts and Helmar Adhesives to help create this gorgeous mini, too.

AND a printer’s tray with Designer April Derrick. The details are amazing.

Some details…

April die cut out the treasures title using  the Graphic 45 Signature Series cardstock and then applied glossy accents to the top so when it dried it has a 3-d effect.

Them April took the metal flowers from Graphic 45 Staples collection and ran them through the Cuttlebug and embossed them, then painted them with some Tattered Angels silver metallic glimmer glaze!  And add some Petaloo flowers. Love them in black.
