First up is an album AND matching frame set from Design Team Member Char Dobson. LOVE how these ladies worked the metal door plates from Graphic 45 Staples collection!!!! LOOK at all that Graphic 45 Core Impressions Timeless collection! We love how our Cardstock looks with shine so Char used some Maya Mist …looks gorgeous, don’t you think?

{Sigh} Paris!

Here are some details on the album. The album is Graphic 45. These premade Policy Envelopes from the Staples collection make creating minis so easy!!!! Char used Glue Arts and Helmar Adhesives to help create this gorgeous mini, too.

AND a printer’s tray with Designer April Derrick. The details are amazing.

Some details…

April die cut out the treasures title using  the Graphic 45 Signature Series cardstock and then applied glossy accents to the top so when it dried it has a 3-d effect.

Them April took the metal flowers from Graphic 45 Staples collection and ran them through the Cuttlebug and embossed them, then painted them with some Tattered Angels silver metallic glimmer glaze!  And add some Petaloo flowers. Love them in black.

Melissa sanded the clocks from the Graphic 45 Timeless collection and then inked them in a “core”dinating color, just looks awesome and makes those clocks really pop, don’t you think?

Melissa colored in the clock hands with a black zig milennium pen then added a thin layer of glossy accents and allowed it to dry to make them  really shine.

Add some May Arts ribbon and you have a gorgeous layout.

Next up Design Team Member Leica Forrest created this gorgeous box and mini album for a future trip to Paris! A girl can dream, right??!?!  That is the beauty about the Graphic 45 papers. They take you to another place with their gorgeous Parisian themes and images of fairy tales and all things beautiful.

Tuesday Tutorial from Kim Jeffress

Do you remember as a child creating those little concertina folded friends? Well today we would love to share a project on how to make them using some CORE Essentials and some scraps of pattern papers from Design Team Member Kim Jeffress.

Step 1 Take a sheet of 12×12 Core Essentials cardstock and cut a strip off about 3 inches wide. Concertina fold it (back and forth) so you have four flaps, draw a person on one flap making sure the arms of the person are touching the fold line (this will keep the attached). Cut out around the edge of the drawn image.

Step 2 Unfold your cutout and using a sanding block or sand paper distress the edges of your little friends.

Step 3 Create a dress template from scrap card and then choose 4 co ordinating pattern paper scraps and trace around the dress template on the back of the pattern paper. Cut out.

Step 4 Ink around the dress to add some definition.

Step 5 Glue your dress to each body on your friends and embellish each different using buttons, pearls, lace and bows.

And here they are all dressed up! Add some buttons…flowers and trim and you have the cutest project!

Kim used our October Color Challenge for this project. Still time to enter!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thanksgiving in Canada and we want to wish all of you an amazing day!

We are so thankful here at Core’dinations for so many reasons.

We had such an awesome week last week with Glue Arts!

Between the Glue ARts blog and the wonderful projects here at the Core blog you had to come away with some inspiration. You must have GREAT cardstock AND awesome adhesive for your crafting projects. If you  missed last week, don’t worry. Go to our main site, www.coredinations.com and then click on “Scrapbook Projects” and then you will see “2,4,6,8 Core’dinate”. There you will see all of our preferred partners, including Glue Arts, and the projects that we have created.

Today  our Design Team Member Char Dobson created this layout in celebration of Canadian Thanksgiving using Core’dinations and, of course… GLUE ARTS. We just couldn’t stop! Char also used some Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions and Black Magic.

There are so many great details on this layout and so many things to be thankful for.

AND NOW FOR OUR GLUE ARTS WINNER!

Feels Like It’s Time for a Challenge!

It’s June 1st. Let’s kick of this month with a fun CHALLENGE!

What do you think?

We just loved this technique that Melissa Oliveira shared with us yesterday on the blog that we wanted to extend the invitation to try it to YOU!

Journaling is such an important part of a scrapbookers journey to preserve memories and tell stories.

SO for this challenge….we want to see your Journaling. It doesn’t have to be this specific technique…you can journal any way you choose.

But  for this challenge there are a few things you must do:

1) JOURNAL

2.) Use Core’dinations Cardstock (it must be a visible component of the layout).

3.)  Link your project to THIS blog post or post it on our Facebook page. Make sure you “like” us, too!

4.) Show off a cool Core technique and we will throw in an additional chance to win!

The rest is up to you!

And how could I forget??? Of Course a random Winner will win some CORE’DINATIONS CARDSTOCK!

Here is a layout from Melissa Oliveira to get you inspired on the many ways you can journal on your Core.  The possibilities are endless and we can’t wait to see what you can do! For this layout she sanded where she journaled AND scored her journal lines. Brilliant!!!

Deadline for this challenge is two weeks…June 15th by midnight PST.

Core’dinations used: Cosmo Cricket Core Impressions, Basic Grey Core Impressions Ornate collection, Core Essentials.

And a close-up!

Tuesday Tutorial

Don’t have a Cuttlebug or embossing machine?  DON’T WORRY!

Today Lydia Jackson is going to show you how to create your own distress folder.

For some projects you don’t always want a crisp clean embossed detail. When you want
your edges to fade to nothing, or to blend an embossing folder where the
edges don’t match up, this technique is just what you need.

Notice how the swirls vary in embossed depth?

What you will need is your desired embossing folder, a hammer, sanding block
and hard surface.

Place your paper between your embossing folder, then hammer all over,
hammering lightly around the edges, or theplace you wish it to fade.

Remove from the folder and sand.

Have a great week!
