It’s June 1st. Let’s kick of this month with a fun CHALLENGE!
What do you think?
We just loved this technique that Melissa Oliveira shared with us yesterday on the blog that we wanted to extend the invitation to try it to YOU!
Journaling is such an important part of a scrapbookers journey to preserve memories and tell stories.
SO for this challenge….we want to see your Journaling. It doesn’t have to be this specific technique…you can journal any way you choose.
But for this challenge there are a few things you must do:
1) JOURNAL
2.) Use Core’dinations Cardstock (it must be a visible component of the layout).
3.) Link your project to THIS blog post or post it on our Facebook page. Make sure you “like” us, too!
4.) Show off a cool Core technique and we will throw in an additional chance to win!
The rest is up to you!
And how could I forget??? Of Course a random Winner will win some CORE’DINATIONS CARDSTOCK!
Here is a layout from Melissa Oliveira to get you inspired on the many ways you can journal on your Core. The possibilities are endless and we can’t wait to see what you can do! For this layout she sanded where she journaled AND scored her journal lines. Brilliant!!!
Deadline for this challenge is two weeks…June 15th by midnight PST.

Core’dinations used: Cosmo Cricket Core Impressions, Basic Grey Core Impressions Ornate collection, Core Essentials.

Don’t have a Cuttlebug or embossing machine? DON’T WORRY!
Today Lydia Jackson is going to show you how to create your own distress folder.
For some projects you don’t always want a crisp clean embossed detail. When you want
your edges to fade to nothing, or to blend an embossing folder where the
edges don’t match up, this technique is just what you need.
Notice how the swirls vary in embossed depth?

What you will need is your desired embossing folder, a hammer, sanding block
and hard surface.
Place your paper between your embossing folder, then hammer all over,
hammering lightly around the edges, or theplace you wish it to fade.
Remove from the folder and sand.

Have a great week!

So how we doing so far??? Are you having fun!?!??! We sure are! We are keeping with our regular schedule Tuesday Tips today because Maya Road Chipboard and Core’dinations are so much fun and there are so many unique things you can do with chipboard and cardstock!
Remember those GREAT videos we have on our website here? Make sure you watch the video on Outlining that Design Team Member Cari Locken showcases on this beautiful layout with loads of Core Essentials Cardstock.

And check out all the techniques on this layout by Design Team Member Hera Frei! She used an ENTIRE sheet of rubons on this layout in addition to Maya Road mists, chipboard tags, and flowers. The chipboard tags were part of an album but they look great on a layout, too! They really show off those photos beautifully.

Here are some tips on how to create these cool letters! Take your mist (Maya Mist Hydrangea Blue) and make a mask by cutting a border with the Fiskars Wave Border Punch and then just lay it over half of the chipboard letters and spray! LOVE IT!

And….GUESS WHAT???? you CAN use rubons on our Core Impressions Cardstock. It looks SO COOL! Check out this fun detail from Hera’s layout using in ENTIRE sheet of Maya Road Rubons.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on today’s post for a chance to win some Core’dinations Goodies!!! You have until Friday night at Midnight!

Wow, does Monday just keep sneaking up on you? It does to me! What better way to celebrate a new week than with some scrappy inspiration?
Today we have a layout from Design Team member Kandis Smith that is just jam packed with techniques. On this layout, Kandis stamped, embossed (with a Tim Holtz Sizzix embossing folder) sanded, used her Silohuette (for the flower), stitched and added some Maya Road AND
Queen Co. embellishments. Did we miss anything??? Besides the Whitewash and Core Essentials cardstock, of course!
This layout totally has me inspired to get in my scrappy room and create.

Have a great Monday!

We are celebrating color again today with one of the most classic color combinations: Black, White and Red. And it just so happens that some of our lines are just perfect for this combo!
First up is a layout from Design Team Member Kim Moreno featuring some Black Magic and Core Essentials Cardstock.
For this layout Kim tore the edge of each of the “frames” used around the photos and sanded the Core Impressions cardstock to reveal the stars. She also used her Scor-Pal to score the lines across the bottom and top, then punched and sanded a border to adhere below the ribbon. Remember to check out our videos here for more information on scoring.

And if you love Black and White you have to check out our NEW Jenni BowlinCore Amour collection. You are going to love this line!!! And if you take a hard look at this card from Design Team Member Debbie Standard, you may be able to figure out who we are doing our next blog swap with next month.

And another project from Design Team Member Debbie Standard. Core Amour Onyx is a staple in Design Team Member Debbie Standard’s work. She always creates such beautiful projects with this line.
