Make an impression with Core’dinations

….that is with our CORE IMPRESSIONS! Debbie Standard is rocking the layouts for us today. ENJOY!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Creating with the Core Impressions line is SO MUCH fun! For this page I wanted an embossed background in a soft color so I chose a sheet from the Pink Paisley collection as my base which I sanded with my Sand It Gadget and then dusted with my Dust Buddy. Then I just went through my scraps (and yes I keep all reusable Core’dination’s scraps) and picked colors from the basic core colors that went with my photo and background paper.  To tie them all together I used a neutral beige to back each square.  I embossed each square with Darice embossing folders, sanded them and then matted them with the Neutral beige.  I added my title and some embellishments both hand made and pre-made to compete the page. The beautiful girls are my daughter (left) and her bff.
Time for a little LOVE connection!
First up we have Designer Vivian Keh with a few cards that are all about LOVE just in time for that very special Valentine’s Day coming up this week!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello, friends! Vivian Keh here today to share with you Valentine’s Day cards that whip up really fast and are great if you have some mass producing to do for this special holiday.

VivianKehCoreValentineCards_AThese small cards were die-cut using the lovely Core’dinations’ Core Impressions Basic Grey “Ornate” Collection. These pretty pastels are pre-embossed with feminine patterns, so all you have to do to reveal the texture is swipe the surface with your Sand-It Gadget.

VivianKehCoreValentineCards_CThe pretty scalloped edges and perfect cuts are thanks to the Sizzix “Card, Mini Heart” #658478 Bigz Die. One pass cut out the card base as well as all the pretty shapes. Since the die is of the sturdy Bigz type, you can cut several sheets of your Core with one pass of your manual die-cut machine and save loads of time!

VivianKehCoreValentineCards_BA little distress ink accentuated the pretty edges, and the cards were finished off with some pearl and button embellishments.

VivianKehCoreValentineCards_DThank you for visiting with me here on the Core’dinations blog. Hope my project has inspired your Valentine’s crafting!

Vivian Keh here again to share with you a bit of my love for the softer and subtler Coredinations hues – creams, greys, neutrals – we have such a beautiful and abundant range of these colors available. I’ve been experimenting with our unique color core, sanding and layering pieces of a single hue to create interesting patterns and textures.

VivianKehCoreFloralHeartCard_1

For my card project today, I first die-cut beautiful hearts using Core’dinations “Pumice Stone” from the Tim Holtz Distress Collection and a Sizzix “Hearts, True Affections”#658923 die. Sanding the edges of the die-cut pieces brought out the pretty curves in these hearts and added interest to my background.

VivianKehCoreFloralHeartCard_2I paper punched and sanded several pretty blossoms using my favorite Fiskars floral punch with “Spun Sugar,” also from the Tim Holtz Distress Collection. These were all glued to another piece from the same Sizzix die-cut.

VivianKehCoreFloralHeartCard_3Little dots of liquid pearls added a special touch.

VivianKehCoreFloralHeartCard_AThis one will be for my guy.

VivianKehCoreFloralHeartCard_BI love how the mini heart wreath turned out!

VivianKehCoreFloralHeartCard_CJust in case you were curious,”Per sempre,” means forever in Italian.

And we aren’t done yet!!!!! Designer Kim Moreno always makes the CUTEST  A1 size cards!

I used my ScorPal to create the frame around my card. I then punched several hearts in a variety of Valentines colors and slightly sanded each to reveal the colored core. I then strung them along the twine across the top of my card. I added jewels and chipboard to complete this quick and easy Valentines card. Would be fun to drop in the kids lunch or leave for the hubby!

Let’s warm up today with some SUNNY layouts

Suzanna here to share with you a layout of those distant yet approaching warmer, summer days! We all need a bit of sunshine right now to cheer us up.

Suzanna_JanMonthly

Have you noticed the increase of projects on an angle lately? I thought the slight tilt to this layout was only fitting for these pictures of the kids at the water park as they slipped and slid through the slides. The embossed cardstock adds to the water park feel.

Suzanna_JanMonthly_Close2

Stamping on the textured cardstock can be tricky but don’t worry, Core’dinations has just the solution for that; 110 pound smooth cardstock! Just perfect for stamping on AND better yet for those stamped images that have a corresponding die like these letters from Lawn Fawn!

Suzanna_JanMonthly_Close

Not all of your cardstock needs to be self embossed. I mixed Spotted, Core Impressions and Core Essentials that I embossed myself and left just as it is. Check out the “rolled” edge that running the 110 pound cardstock with a die through your die cutting machine leaves. It’s not that abrupt ending of the edge.

I created a sketch of this layout for you so you can adapt it for your own scrapping pleasures! If you create something based on my layout and/or sketch, please do share! I would love to see what you were inspired to do!

And Kate Nolan -Denham has an awesome two page layout today with some amazing photos. LOOK at all that green grass!!! Here is a little bit about this layout from Kate:

Sharing my love of Core’dinations Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Cardstock today!  I used nothing but Kraft-Core for paper in this double-page layout.

It is so easy to add interest to a layout chock full of cardstock only by using simple techniques like embossing and sanding.  You can see where I sanded the papers and the Kraft-Core pops through.

Die cutting is another great way add interest on a cardstock only page.  The picture wheel and heart die cuts are focal points for the title work.  Check out the hearts…they are embossed and debossed with the same paper.

Thanks for stopping by today!
