We have a fun week for you this week! We have teamed up with Petaloo and Sweet Stamp shop for some FUN! If you love flowers make sure you buy Petaloo flowers that core’dinate with our cardstock PERFECTLY!  No worrying about matching them yourself, we did that for you.

We will be giving away some goodies here on the blog for commenting ALL WEEK long (make sure to comment on every post here for more chances to win).

Today is our first day of school in Pennsylvania…we got a bit of a late start here due to some construction but it is always a fun day…alarms…a bit of scrambling….what to wear…pictures…pencils…

AND head over to our Facebook page, too! Leave a comment over there about what the first day of school is like in your house!  I know it is a crazy day here!!! And if you don’t have kids in school then share a found memory you have about your first day of school.  We want to here it…we are gearing up for 8000 likes over there and can’t wait!

We hope you had fun this week. We sure did! We will post our winners next Monday or Tuesday. You can still comment today and all weekend long…

Today we have some cards for you!

Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira created this FUN window card. Is it ever possible to have too much woodgrain?  I didn’t think so. She used the Sizzix Tim Holtz woodgrain folder for the embossing and then the woodgrain Sweet Stamp Shop  stamped on the inside of the card.

And close up of the flowers. Melissa used a Spellbinder’s Label die to create the window.

And the inside:

And Design Team Member Debbie Standard created this cute card! She used the back of her cardstock for the bus and all that fun embossing and sanding is just perfect! Don’t forget to run that “grass” through your Fiskars Paper crimper for that perfect look…add a Petaloo flower and you have a perfect Back To School card!

How about some Cut & Emboss cards? If you haven’t seen our Cut & Emboss specialty packs then you must! Just the perfect pack to have in your scrap supplies, especially if you are a carddmaker.

Today we have Design Team Member Andrea Amu with a fabulously layered card…here is a little bit about her project…

The Sweet Stamp Shop set that I got to work with was the “School’s Out”.  I used the apple border stamp to create an “all over” pattern on a piece of the turquoise Cut & Emboss 4.25 x 5.5 cardstock whichI layered onto a black Kraft 6″ square card base.  I used paper Petaloo flowers to coordinate along with the Core and the chevron May Arts ribbon.  My die cuts were created using Cricut’s Country Life cartridge.

And a close up..again…LOVING how our team thinks outside the box and uses the black in on the colored cardstock. And don’t be afraid to layer those Petaloo flowers!

And we have another card Design Team Member Lydia Jackson.  Nothing beats a thank you card for that perfect teacher. We all need to keep these on for sure. And, again, Lydia used some cardstock from the Darks Cut & Emboss cardstock pack. PERFECT for cardmakers! And see that cute little apple? Lydia cut the petals of her flower and used them for the apple leaves. Brilliant!

Today, Day Two, we have Shaunte Wadley working some skills on a fun little treat box and soda treat that is sure to get any kid an “A” with their teacher! Shaunte used the School’s Out Stamp set from SSS…anyone that has kids in school NEEDS this stamp!

And some fabulous details of the Petaloo flower (they core’dinate so well, don’t they???)  and Sweet Stamp Shop stamps…

and Shaunte used Spectrum Noir markers to do the coloring. They are beautiful and smooth and just so easy to use.

In addition to stamping, Shaunte printed on her Core’dinations Cardstock, too! Don’t be afraid to mix up those fonts and colors!

Dies used today are from Lifestyle Crafts.

DAY ONE!

Please note we updated this post with some directions for you on how to make this cute little project!

We have a fun week for you this week! We have teamed up with Petaloo and Sweet Stamp shop for some FUN! If you love flowers make sure you buy Petaloo flowers that core’dinate with our cardstock PERFECTLY!  No worrying about matching them yourself, we did that for you.

Don’t forget to head over to Petaloo blog and the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to check things out. I heard some rumors there are goodies up for grabs over there, too! (Keep  in mind SSS is PST time so they be up a bit later).

We will be giving away some goodies here on the blog for commenting ALL WEEK long and our Facebook page, too! And if you don’t have kids in school then share a found memory you have about your first day of school.  We want to here it…we are gearing up for 8000 likes over there and can’t wait!

Today Design Team Member Char Dobson created this desktop calendar that is perfect for any teacher gift. Char used Cardinal cardstock that matches the Petaloo flowers and the Sweet Stamp Shop Against the Grain stamp set.  Don’t be afraid to stamp on that colored cardstock!!! Everyone needs a large woodgrain stamp, don’t you think?

Here are a few more shots for you…See how Char added a little Graphic 45 Signature Series Cardstock along the bottom?

See you tomorrow!

Want to make this for yourself?  Here’s the basic instructions for the calendar – if you have ever made an easel card; it is the same idea.

Cut a piece of Core’dinations cardstock 6″ x 12″ and fold in half. Then fold one end towards the center. This is the easel base. Cut a Core’dinations cardstock mat at 6″ x 4″ and a decorative piece for stamping or embossing at 5 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. Embellish as desired. Adhere mat to the long piece of cardstock that was folded in so that the bottoms line up (refer to first photo in the blog post if you’re not sure about this). The tiny piece I have under the sticky note pad is 6″ x 1″, and I got the printable calendar pages here:http://www.asensoft.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/two-months-blank-calendar-template-723×1024.jpg
