She Shoots….

SHE SCORS!

Well…not the scoring you might see at a football game…but the FUN kind of SCORING! We highlighted scoring yesterday on the blog and I just happen to come across a few more amazing examples of how to SCOR with CORE ;)

We love love to scor here at Core. If you haven’t scor’d before than PLEASE check out our Technique Videos here. LOADS of inspiration and REMEMBER to scor from the BACK of your Core so when you sand the front with your Sand It Gadget, that gorgeous core shines through.

First up we have a layout from Design Team Member Lydia Jackson. Lydia created her own design here just by scoring! You can create a patchwork design like this and the outline around the layout to frame it, too. SO easy yet SO much impact.

Lydia used Tim Holtz Kraft Core as her base and some Core Essentials and added some great details from Jillibean Soup.

And design Team Member Melissa Oliveira used this month’s Colour Lover’s Inspiration palette for this layout. See how Melissa used scoring to frame the layers of the layout? Gorgeous gorgeous! I cannot  tell you how easy this technique is and how much impact it can have on your layouts with Core’dinatons Colorcore Cardstock!

Here is a little about scoring from Melissa, “Scoring is my favorite way to add some extra visual interest without added bulk or additional layers.”  I AGREE, do you?

And Melissa used her Petaloo flowers that match Core PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!

And a Spellbinder’s Die for the shape…

Black Magic, Scoring,

Ask you will receive!!! We try and give you as many ideas and inspiration as we possibly can here on our blog so make sure you let us know if there is something you would like to see.

Yesterday  on Facebook we asked what you wanted to see on the blog today and we got a response for Scoring…Black Magic…

Design Team Member Leica Forrest created this layout that has all of the above and then some!!!

See the scored lines on the Black Magic cardstock base?  You can create ANY design you want! And if you need some tips on how to scor, check out our Technique Videos here. AND we have our Hard Core Crafter videos, too!!! Make sure you sign up to be a member to get exclusive videos, win prizes and more!

Leica also used some Spellbinders Dies to create the gorgeous scalloped circles. They look great with the different embossed designs! And Leica turned her Black Magic over and journaled (with journaling strips) to make sure the colors core’dinate perfectly!

Good Friday Morning!

How about some inspiration to get that New Year kicked off in the right direction?

Today we have a layout from Design Team Member Debbie Standard using our January Color Lover’s Challenge as inspiration.

Debbie die cut, embossed, sanded, embossed some more ;) You get the idea of how much detail is on this layout. And she used some goodies from one of our preferred partners, Maya Road. Looks gorgeous, don’t you think?

Fabulous Friday with May Arts and Petaloo

We are so excited to be sharing this week of May Arts, Petaloo AND Core’dinations with you!

It is over  already?  That is how time flies around here especially when you are having fun and being inspired. We love Fridays around here, too! Why is that? Well, it’s ANOTHER day to comment to win win win!

THREE awesome companies have come together to inspire you. And our teams have been working hard to create some festive projects for you, too. It’s all about the Holidays. From Halloween to Thanksgiving and even Christmas…you will see festive projects to get those creative juices flowing and hopefully give you some ideas for this time of year.

And of course…there are give-a-ways!!! All three companies will giving away tons and tons of goodies this week so make sure you head over to the Petaloo Blog and May Arts Blog for details and inspirational projects. Don’t forget about Facebook! Join us on our Facebook page here, the May Arts and Petaloo pages, too, for additional chances to win. Make sure you tell them we sent you!

Don’t forget to comment all week long for a chance win a Core’dinations prize pack! And head over to our Facebook page…you never know when we offer up another chance to win.

Did you know that Core’dinations and Petaloo have a color matching program? We sure do! We did all the hard work so that you can easily match your favorite Core Colors with favorite Petaloo flowers. How easy is that???

Today we have a variety of projects for you.

First up Design Team Member Kim Jeffress with a gorgeous wall hanging. There is nothing like some warm fall colors to brighten up any room.

This project is the perfect example of the Core’dinations and Petaloo color matching program.

And how much do you love  the colors of this card from Design Team Member Char Dobson???  Gorgeous gorgeous! I just love Core. You know why?  Because you can emboss it on your own or use the Core Impressions like Char did on this card. She embossed a piece of Core Essentials in orange and then used a piece of BasicGrey in Mantis on the bottom.  Again…the flowers match perfectly!

And Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira has another fun Fall project for us. She altered a bucket she had lying around the house with some beautiful details. Melissa used her Spellbinders dies in addtion to May  Arts Ribbon and Petaloo flowers. The great thing about these flowers is that you can color them!  Melissa used Tim Holtz Distress ink on the flowers because they were a little bright for the  fall color scheme. Again, just perfect for ANY project.

And Design Team Member Leica Forrest created this soft and feminine layout for us today. Nothing screams little girl like pink , flowers and ribbon! The base is Pink Paislee Core Impressions.

She runs…she shoots..she SCORES!

Okay maybe we don’t have that kind of “Score”  here at the Core Blog but we got something BETTER!

We do this kind of SCORING! Need some more tips?  Make sure you check out our videos here. The possibilities are endless. You can make any design you want!!!! There is one  important tip  to remember when you are  SCOR with CORE.

Remember to score from the BACK of the cardstock. That way the raised scor image is on the front and you can sand it.

Design Team Member Leica Forrest scor’d her heart out on these layouts.

Core Essentials works beautifully for scoring. Notice the outline sanding Leica did for her title, too? SO COOL!

This layout is jam-packed with technique, too. From the embossed Black Magic scalloped shapes (using Spellbinder’s dies)to the  scoring and use of the label maker…

This is one awesome layout!

Designer Lydia Jackson created this awesome Halloween wall hanging for us today. Lydia does just amazing things with her Fiskars Paper Crimper!  Here  is what Lydia says about Glue Arts, “I used the extreme adhesive dots, love these things, they are the only thing that will actually hold these florettes.” So if you are interested in recreating this project…..grab your Black Magic Cardstock from Core and Glue Arts!!!

And a close-up. Check out this awesome, awesome detail.

And Designer Kim Jefress made this adorable card for us today, too.

Here is a little bit about how Kim put this card together. From start to finish it is just gorgeous. AND don’t forget….Glue Arts is PERFECT for any project…cards…layouts..mini albums…ANY crafting project. The base of the card and to attach the pattern paper I used the GLUE GLIDER PRO. To give the hot air balloon a lift  and to create dimension on my card I used the U CUT IT 3d adhesive block. The colors are just beautiful, too. LOVE the balloon in the Vintage cardstock, don’t you?

The U Cut It Foam adhesives give the perfect dimension to this card.
