Today is National Wear RED Day!

Did you know that Heart Disease kills more women than all cancers combined?

Support all of those people that have been touched by heart disease. They need our support and so do their families.

Get your blood work done, check your cholesterol…go do the Doctor if you don’t feel right and think you hare having symptoms. REMEMBER the symptoms of a heart attack for women can be VERY different than in men. For more information on heart disease and woman CLICK HERE.

It has effected us here at the Core’dination’s family with one of our very own Core Teacher’s, Cari Locken. She is in an inspiration to all of us! We love ya, girl!

We have a super fun make-n-take for everyone. It is a frame and easel with a cute scored star. You are going to love love love it.

Too bad we packed it up before we got a photo of it but I will post one over the weekend.

Dust Buddy & Sand It Gadget Combo Pack

This is probably one of my most favorite releases for us this CHA.

If you know me, you know how much I love my Sandit Gadget and Dust Buddy. If you use Core, you must get this! It’s a combo back that includes a Dust Buddy and Sand It Gadet and refill sand paper! Everyone needs one of these so make sure you tell your retailer to stock these for you.

Want proof of how much you will use yours? Here is a photo of my Dust Buddy from scrapping this weekend. I made two layouts with our BRAND NEW Darks collection pack (see yesterday’s post if you missed it) and this is what my Dust Buddy looked like when I was done. It definitely works and it picked up other dust and debris that makes its way onto you projects. Your projects (and hands) will be much cleaner when you use this.

Beat those Monday Blues

With some Glitter Silk….in the GoRgEoUs Regal Royal Blue!

Not sure if you noticed or not but we have been showing off how much we love this great cardstock over the last few weeks. Glitter Silk has a SMOOTH surface (unlike a lot of other glitter based cardstocks) so your adhesive sticks better, it barely sheds AND it folds without cracking with a white back! So it is perfect for cardmakers AND embossing.

Design Team Member April Derrick paired her Glitter Silk with some beautiful patterned papers in white and black. And if the glitter wasn’t enough…how about a gorgeous strip of sequins? Just love how it plays off the ruffles on April’s dress in that beautiful photo. Go {big} BLUE or go home, right?!?!?!?

Lip Balm Holder Tutorial

Today’s tutorial comes from Design Team Member Shaunte Wadley. She has the cutest idea for a fun Valentines’ Day project!

Normally we do tutorials on Tuesdays but we have some blogging issues yesterday so we are sharing it with you today.

Select your choice of pre-embossed Core’dinations cardstock.

You will need one sheet. Shaunte used some BasicGrey Core Impressions Whimsy cardstock.

1. Cut two (2) 5¾” x 3½” pieces of cardstock. Sand both pieces. One piece will be the cover of your lip balm holder, and the other will be cut to hold the lip balm on the inside.

2- Score both pieces of cardstock lengthwise at 2½” and 3¼. This is shown in the photo as blue lines. I use the gutter of my paper trimmer and an embossing stylus to create the score lines.

3-Set one piece of cardstock aside (the cover) From the other cardstock, make the following cuts. (Make sure the embossing faces outward.

The following cuts begin from the far right score line :

a- measuring 1 1/4″ from the top of the project, make a slit that is 1 1/2″ long.

b-measuring 1 1/4″ from the bottom of the project, make a slit that is 1 1/2″ long.

The following cuts begin at the center of both score lines:

c-measuring 3/8″ from the top of the project, make a slit that is 3/4″ long.

d-measuring 3/8″ from the bottom of the project, make a slit that is 3/4″ long.

The following cuts begin from the far right score line (photo 6): a- measuring 1 1/4″ from the top of the project, make a slit that is 1 1/2″ long. b-measuring 1 1/4″ from the bottom of the project, make a slit that is 1 1/2″ long.
The following cuts begin at the center of both score lines: c-measuring 3/8″ from the top of the project, make a slit that is 3/4″ long. d-measuring 3/8″ from the bottom of the project, make a slit that is 3/4″ long.

4- Fold center two slits vertically, this will hold the lip balm inside your project.

5- Fold both top and bottom slits inward. This creates “shelves” to hold your lip balm inside the finished project.

6- Select a length of ribbon approximately 24″ long. Adhere ribbon horizontally across the center of the (set aside) cover.

And here is your finished project all embellished and ready to! Just perfect for any project…any time of year.

Book Club Ideas

I don’t know about you but I am an avid reader.

I love reading and I am always looking for friends that read so we can talk about books and share them, too!

Well, Design Team Member Char Dobson created these super fun projects for us today and they are all about your very own Book Club. Move over Oprah! Char used a mix of Core Essentials and Tim Holtz Adirondack and Distress collections and her Cricut, of course!

Fairy Tale Friday

Nothing is more dreamy and feels like a Fairy Tale than some Graphic 45!

Today we have a beautiful altered box from Design Team Member Leica Forrest. The great thing about this project is that Lecia used the Graphic45 Signature Series cardstock (the dark green) because it is designed to match Graphic45 papers perfectly. AND she mixed in some Pink Paislee Core Impressions. Don’t be afraid to mix it up a bit!
