Welcome to our First Ever 12 Days of Techniques. We are excited to share with you some of our favorite techniques using our unique color core cardstock. Each day a Design Team member is going to share a project featuring a technique with Core’dinationscardstock. We have TWELVE unique and amazing days lined up for you leading right into Christmas Eve Day.
In case you are just joining us today here is what we covered so far:
Day One: Sanding
Day Two: Tearing
Day Three: Embossing
Day Four: Debossing
Day Five: Distressing
Day Six: Scoring
Day Seven: Outlining
Day Eight: Label
Day Nine: Antiquing
Day Ten: Corrugating
And Today’s Technique is AS IS!
Each day we will be giving away a great selection of Core’dinations! Each prize will also receive a Dust Buddy and our NEW Sand It Gadget! And today we have one of our favorite sponsors and they have a prize for you in addition to the Core’dinations prize pack! Make sure you leave a comment here letting us know how much you have been enjoying the 12 Days of Techniques! AND if you missed any of the previous days, you can check out the videos by CLICKING HERE.
AND today we have some extra goodies for you to win from….

Queen & Co. has a wonderful selection of embellishments and their colors are designed to Core’dinate specifically with our cardstock!!!
So I mentioned that today’s is to use our Core’dinations Cardstock just as it is. What does that mean exactly? You don’t always have to sand Core’dinations in order to enjoy the great quality. Core’dinations can be your go to cardstock for all your projects. Today Design Team member Kimber McGray created projects with stamping. Yes, you can stamp on your Core! If you don’t like to stamp on textured cardstock, than just flip it over and use the back. Notice how Kimber stamped on the backside but then used the textured side (the front) of the Core’dinations for her layered card bases. Beautiful!
Note on this first card that Kimber also drew a frame on the card base…don’t be afraid to write on your Core, too!

Look closely at this card. Kimer embossed on the textured white card base. GORGEOUS!

And another beauty here using some color blocking as the base. No sanding required!

So who is ready for yesterday’s WINNER??????????????????

Today we have a special treat from Fiskars!!! AGAIN! Yes, they have been super generous and donated a PAPER CRIMPER for our 10th Day of Techniques Today. Yes, you guessed it, today’s technique is CORRUGATUNG. We are blowing the dust off these great tools and working some Holiday Magic with them. Make sure you check out the video here to get some great tips on using your paper crimper. Again, if you get a chance to give Fiskars a shout out on their Facebook Page for the generosity we would appreciate it! It might just get you another shot in to win today’s prize!!!!

Today’s inspiration comes from Design Team Member Sarah Hodgkinson. Sarah used her Whitewash Cardstock, ran it through her Crimper, and cut it so it looks like a landscaped background for her card. Beautiful and easy!!! Thanks Fiskars! We cannot wait to see what you do with your paper crimper.

Embellish it….

And Voila!!! You have a gorgeous project:

AGAIN????? Yeppers! We have some Awesome Chipboard from Tim Holtz to share today. We have some Tim Holtz Idea-ology Chipboard: Iconic Plain, Elements Plain, Basics Plain, Alphas Plain. Here is a sample:

Why chipboard you ask? Because today’s Technique is outlining. Outlining is a fun technique you can use on any project and it allows you to stretch your budget by being able to use your chipboard for more than one project. All you do is take chipboard, lay it underneath your cardstock, and Sand! Make sure you check out the example below AND make sure you check out the video. It has some great tips!
PLEASE make sure you head over to Tim’s Facebook Page and tell him how much you appreciate his support of the 12 Days of Techniques! I don’t know about you but I looooove my Tonic Tools. BUT first you need to watch the Distressing Video here leave us a comment!
Did you know that Core’dinations has a Facebook Page? Make sure you check us out here.
Todays projects come from design Team member Ellen Sosnoski. Instead of using bought chipboard, Ellen cut out an tree image from some left over chipboard, placed it underneath her cardstock base and the sanded the edges. Cardstock is Core Essentials.

Check out this close-up. Mindy cut the letters right from the Jenni Bowlin Alpha Cardstock! I know I have said this 1000x’s before but Core’dinations is so versatile!!!

AND Mindy has one more example for us today. Check out how these ornaments are hanging on this card! Yup, you guess it…she scored the lines in the black magic and then sanded them. C-L-E-V-E-R!

Now we are ready for a WINNER!!!
RobynC says:
I can never distress too much. LOVE all things distressed. It is my go to technique. That is why I LOVE Core’dinations. The paper is such high quality (and still reasonably priced) that I know it will withstand whatever I throw at it. Combine Core’dinations with Tim Holtz and I am in heaven!!

Today Paula Gilarde is sharing a card she created with loads of distressing. Paula used FOUR, yes, FOUR different Core’dinations Lines! Here they are in order from the cardbase: Black Magic (sanded to show the red core), Core Essentials (Notice the Sizzix by Tim Holtz brick embossing folder????) Jenni Bowlin Vintage Core Impressions and Jenni Bowlin Whitewash Core Impressions (Both from the brown and cream line). Paula added some great details to this card including an SRM Sticker.

SO WE NEED A WINNER, RIGHT?????????

I took a class that had some debossing projects and it was very easy and looked great. A Cuddlebug would be the ideal thing to pratice this fun technique.

I live in the country and like to use torn paper to represent the fields and hills. I’m glad I found your paper because with other paper I would use ink to hide the white core and it never looks right.
Lisa, we are happy you found and us and cannot wait to see what you create with your Core’dinations and Fiskars goodies. No covering up that inner core anymore!!! Make sure you email us with your information!

If you missed us yesterday, that’s okay. You can still check out the post here on sanding and don’t forget to check out the video.
Now on to day TWO of our 12 Days of Techniques. Next up we have tearing. Check out the video on tearing here and it gives you a sneak on what you might win today in addition to the Core give-a-way. Whether you are a novice scrapbooker or been scrapping for years, tearing does not get old ’round here! Lydia Jackson is up today with a fabulous layout showcasing how you can create your own embellishments with tearing. Isn’t it snow clever how she creates circles with tearing? And the Whitewash Cardstock is perfect for your wintery layouts. The white surface and color core are the perfect way to accent those fun snow pictures. Just a great way to showcase how tearing doesn’t have to be in a straight line. Lydia also combined other blue cardstock from the Core Essentials line–don’t be afraid to mix and match the Core’dinations lines, they core’dinate beautifully!

So, for today, leave a comment telling us what unique ways you can use tearing on your projects and you could win some Core’dinations Cardstock, our Dust Buddy and Sand It Gadget, AND …yes I said AND…. a Tearing Ruler from FISKARS! (The image below is an example and not may not be the exact ruler winner will receive)

Please make sure you give a big shout out to Fiskars on their Facebook page and tell them you appreciate their support for our 12 Days of Techniques because you may be seeing them again this week
And don’t forget to give us a shout our on our Facebook Page. We love to hear from over there and it is a great way for you show us what you’ve been creating with Core’dinations. You might find your project on our blog during our Fabulous Friday Finds where we showcase projects using Core from the scrapbooking community.
All prizes will be shipped the week of December 27th.
