So today we have layers and layers from Mary Pat Siehl.
First here is a little bit about Mary Pat:
My name is Mary Pat Siehl. I am an avid paper crafter, stamper, and card maker. I have been paper crafting for over 12 years. It truly is a passion of mine. I would descirbe my style as clean and simple, but this is not to say my style is boring. I love to layer my papers and add all types of embellishments. I love adding different textures to my layouts. I am married to a wonderful man who totally supports my addiction to paper crafting. I have 2 boys who keep me totally on the run and having fun. I am a high school teacher by day, and I am in my 24th year of teaching. I live in beautiful Springboro, Ohio. If I am not scrapping I am either hanging out with my 3 favorite guys or on the tennis courts.
Now Mary Pat’s layout..for more design inspiration make sure you check out her blog HERE!

Creating with the Tim Holtz Kraft Core Shattered line is SO MUCH fun! This card was just perfect for using this line. Did you know that all the Kraft Core lines Core’dinate? Design Team Member Debbie Standard embossed the Core shattered and lightly sanded it so that it would show both the Shattered as well as the embossed image.
Supply List:
Tim Holtz Kraft Core Shattered
Core EssentialsNeutrals 6×6
Sand it Gadget
Dust Buddy
Cuttlebug
Lifestyle Crafts Folder
American Crafts sticker
Creative Charms flowers
Queen & Co. Pearls
Debbie made this card using some of the Tim Holtz Shattered collection in the 6 X 6. This time she didn’t emboss it just left it as is. Then she layered it over Core Essentials Brights cardstock and stamped on the back of the white for the top of the card.
And a layout using some BasicGrey Core Impressions: According to Debbie, she loves creating layouts using some of the Core Impressions as the background . Sanded and dusted it creates such a great palette to use on your page.
Additional supplies:
Sand It Gadget
Dust Buddy
Prima Flowers
Tuesday Tip …

Good Tuesday Morning!
First up we have our CardMaps winner…………….
What a great giveaway! I just found out about Cardmaps and would love to win this magazine!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And we have our Sketch Winner, too! Kerrie Gurney come on down! We have a Core prize pack for you!
Donna & Kerrie..email ellen_sosnoski@coredinations.com with your name, address and phone number by March 15th to claim your prize.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So how about Tuesday’s tip? I created this layout about our yearly St Patty’s Day parade. We go every year and just love, love it. It’s in a small town near us and it is CrAzY! The boys love it…they love the necklaces and the candy they get. I, of course, love the bagpipes. For this layout I used some Core Cuts, Core Couture, Spotted, Brights, Stacy Julian Core Impressions and Whimsy Core Impressions from BasicGrey.
I know we have said this a gazillion times before but it is amazing how EASILY our collection packs Core’dinate!
So what is the tip? I have a few for you today
1.) After distressing your edges, use a dark contrasting color to ink like I did here with black. I love the way it looks against the pink Core Couture cardstock.
2.) Use pre-embossed cardstock, like our Core Impressions lines or Step two layers from David Tutera Celebrate, for your die cuts. It is so so easy! It is just one less step then embossing them yourself.
I used Lifestyle Crafts dies for this layout.
And my last tip is…..
3.) Use of the large tags from Step 3 David Tutera Celebrate cardmaking system for a journaling tag. One of our smaller tags wasn’t big enough for what I wanted to say so I reached for one of these. Plus the cardstock is smooth.
Please note the Stacy Julian Cardstock is no longer available as it has been discontinued. Stamps are Lawn Fawn, Ink by Memento, tickets are Maya Road and misc buttons from my stash, Glue Arts adhesive.

AND DON’T FORGET ABOUT OUR DESIGN TEAM CALL HERE!!!!!!!! ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT TO ENTER!!!!

Core’dinations Cardstock!
Today we have some layouts for you featuring our very fun shiney and sparkley collections….Glitter Silk and Gemstones ! Two of my FAVES! Who am I kidding? All Core’dinations cardstock is my favorite!
These first TWO layouts are with our 6×6 paper pads! Cardmakers and scrapbookers will love these lines. Our same great cardstock just sized smaller for mini albums and cards.
How about a Glitter Silk layout from Shaunte Wadley…Shaunte used her Lifestyle Crafts die cuts for all the hearts. This cardstock cuts beautifully!!!
A Gemstones layout by Andrea Amu. Andrea embossed the Gemstones and then inked it…Looks cool!
And another Gemstone layout from Shaunte but this time in the 12×12:
Keep in mind these two lines do NOT have a sandable finish.

Here is a list to hop along…make sure you do as we are giving away prizes ALL WEEK LONG for those that are commenting and having fun.
Core’dinations Blog (pssst that’s us!)
And for inspiration here today, we have a project from Design team Member Melissa Oliveira.
For this layout, I used the Cling Decorative Grate CRR145 stamp from Stampendous. I stamped it onto Snowflake core, stamping the image twice with each inking, creating one dark image and one lighter image. I trimmed the images from the cardstock and layered two light and one dark image onto a piece of whitewash cardstock. Lines were scored around the stamped layers creating a “window pane” type of effect.
The trio of rosettes was created by punching large scalloped circles, sanding them and tearing them in a spiral shape, then twisting them around the end of a stylus and adhering with a glue dot. A turquoise pearl from Queen&Co. was used in the center of each rosette to mimic the baby’s headband in the photo.
I created the banner by punching a border along the edge of a strip of Chocolate Box cardstock then trimming 1 inch strips up the border design. Alphabet stickers were added and the pieces were adhered over bakers twine. Journaling was done on a lightly sanded piece of Whitewash using a typewriter. I used a pink die cut square layer that I cute from a die from Lifestyle Crafts and the cardstock is from the 6×6 Spotted collection.
And a close up of those gorgeous flowers!!! Add some May Arts Ribbon and other details and you have a great layout.

Thanks so much and we couldn’t be more EXCITED!
See some guidelines below:
The crop dates are July 17th through the 22nd 2012. Designers will be posting their challenges on their individual blogs on Tuesday, July17th. We have designers from all over the world so please be patient as the time zones will vary but they will do their best to have them up first thing Tuesday Morning.
Challenges will be posted on Day 1 and Day 2 and you will have through Sunday Night, July 22nd at midnight EST to get them posted. Schedule posted Monday. All questions should be directed to the Core blog to THIS post or on our Facebook Hard Core Crop page here.
Each Designer will post their challenge on their blog with Linkitz. You will need to link your project to that post, again, by midnight EST July 22nd, 2012. This way you can post your projects on your blog, Flicker, Pinterest, Photobucket or whatever photo sharing site you use and then just link them. We will have a master challenge list here on the Core Blog for you so that you can keep track of all the challenges easily. Challenges will be for layouts and cards so everyone will be able to find some challenges they will enjoy. All you need is Core’dinations Cardstock. You must use Core on your creations to be eligible. Each designer will highlight a certain line of Core but you can use any kind you wish for that challenge as long as it is Core’dinations.
We will also be posting tidbits and fun stuff on our Facebook Event page HERE so stay close because we will have some fun random challenges going on there throughout the week, too!
SO…how do you win some Core???
Designers will pick an entry from their blog to win the Core’dinations Cardstock designated that day. Our team is looking for creative uses for Core (and other things like following rules, etc). Get creative and show off you use that Core’dinations Cardstock!
On (or around)July 27th, 2012, a master list of winners will be posted on the Core blog so please make sure you check back then to see if you won! (Designers will be posting on their individual blogs as well). The more challenges you participate in, the better you chances of winning! You may do each challenge as many times as you wish but you may not combine challenges. We also ask since our Designers and Team have put a lot of time in to this crop that these are newly created projects just for this event.
So get those photos printed…stock up on adhesive…we are ready!
Happy Canada Day!
