#1 Teacher Gift Bag

I don’t know about you but we are gearing up for the end of school here. With only less then two weeks left, I need to get busy on some gifts for my kid’s teachers and we hope you have been enjoying the ideas so far this week! You can easily incorporate these with layouts, cards or any paper crafting project.

I love a good gift bag and Debbie Standard as one for us today but that’s not the focal point. She created her own award ribbon using some Spellbinders Scalloped Circle dies! Just die cut them with an embossing machine and then cut them into pieces. Sand and then adhere them in a circular pattern, add some banner strips and you are done!

Thank you teacher Debbie1

It’s all about technique!

Here at Core’dinations Cardstock we celebrate technique every day. If you haven’t checked out our Technique Videos yet, please do HERE.

Today, Kate Nolan Denham shares a great layout with us that uses FIVE different techniques.

1.) Distress It: crumple your cardstock and sand it with your Sand it Gadget.

2.) Label It: Run a strip of cardstock through your label maker and sand it for easy journaling and titles. OR, like Kate did on this layout, make flags out of them!

3.) Emboss It: Use a standard embossing machine and fold and then just sand. Don’t forget to wipe with your Dust Buddy!

4.) Corrugate it: Just take a paper crimper and run your cardstock through it and sand.

5.) Die Cut It:  Use a die cutting machine to cut shapes and titles and sand.

Happy Easter Layouts

With Easter this week, we thought some layouts for you today would be a great way to get those creative juices flowing for all those photos!
First up Kate Nolan-Denham:
Believe it or not, I built this layout around the bunnies.  I couldn’t help but notice that the pastel colors in the Core Couture Glitter Collection looked like Easter Peeps.
I created the peep scene by cutting green, yellow, pink and blue bunnies out of Core Couture Glitter  with my Silhoutte.  I crimped their ears a bit to give them dimension.
The green grass was cut out of a 12″ strip of the green in the Light Graphic 45 Collection, matching the background green cardstock.  I just randomly snipped the top 1″(or so) of the strip and sanded afterwards.  Sanding after I snipped made the individual blades of “grass” stand out more.  Don’t forget to use your Dust Buddy after sanding to give it that finished look!

And Debbie Standard has not one but TWO layouts for us today using all kinds of Core’dinations Cardstock.
This first one is has a Tim Holtz Seasonal Impressions base and tons of flowers cut from Spellbinders dies and a Pastels Core Essentials pack.  Just cut and sand!

110 lb smooth cardstock and no stamping?

Mary Pat Siehl is sharing a fun Easter themed card for us today featuring some stamping and our BRAND NEW 110 cardstock. But guess what? She isn’t just stamping on it, she embosses it and stamps on her Core Essentials, too!
1.  Start with Core 110 lb smooth cardstock and emboss it using a Darice embossing folder.
2. Stamp  bunny and carrot on 110lb Smooth Cardstock and color with Spectrum Noir Markers.
TIP: Want that sanded look from your ColorCore Cardstock on stamped images?   Sand your cardstock first using your Sand it Gadget from Core’dinations.

Clean the surface of your paper and then stamp your image. Making sure you clean your surface with a Dust buddy is SO important! Your image will stamp much much cleaner!

I stamped my eggs and then fussy cut them out.  Now they have a bit of a soft distress feel to them even though they were in the bright collection! Last but not least I cut some grass out using the Gemstone collection and my Silhouette and here is what I came up with!

Spring has sprung!

Hi Everyone! Tracy Gruber here! Hopefully it’s starting to feel like spring where you are!  I decided to create my own beautiful flowers out of Core’dinations card stock to get me in the mood for spring and summer.  Start out by cutting the hydrangea from the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge at 4 inches.  Next, emboss a piece of White Wash card stock with the Cloudy Sky embossing folder from Darice.  I de-embossed it and sanded it so the clouds stayed white and the sky became blue.  Then, tear two strips of brown card stock to create the “dirt” at the bottom on the card.  Use the Fiskar’s grass border punch and Kraft Core card stock to create the grass that is behind the dirt.  Die cut the clouds from white card stock and stamp the sentiment on the medium cloud.  Adhere everything together for a fun card!

I love to create 3D flowers with my Core card stock.  After a little sanding, they start to look real!  Die cut the flowers using the Spellbinder’s Rose Creations die.  Bend each flower petal and then sand each one with the Sand It Gadget.  I like to attach each flower layer together with a brad, but you could use whatever you want. For the card base, layer together a piece of yellow and dark purple card stock.  Sand the purple card stock to give it a distress look.  Attach a white Core Tag to the card base and stamp the sentiment.  Lastly, attach each flower and the leaves onto the card front.

The ombre trend is hot right now and I love to use my Core card stock to create ombre backgrounds.  We have been having gorgeous sunsets lately, so I was inspired to create a card with a sunset that looks like it’s on fire!  I tore strips of red, orange, and yellow card stock and attached them to a white card base.  I die cut the sky line with a Memory Box die and used Glitter Silk for the buildings windows.  The windows look like they are really lit up because of all of the sparkle from the Glitter Silk card stock!  I used the speech bubble die from Simon Says Stamp and stamped the Paper Smooches sentiment on it.
Supplies:
-Tim Holtz Distress Collection
-Vintage Card Stock
-Darks Card Stock
-Brights Card Stock
-Glitter Silk card stock
-Neutrals Card Stock
110 lb Smooth Cardstock
-Memory Box Cityscape Nightline
-Simon Says Stamp Talk Bubbles 2 die
-Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set
