Happy New Year!   Hard to believe we are working our way into January already! Let’s get this month started off right with some Stepper Cards from designer Clare Buswell. Now, I have seen these kinds of cards a lot but never make them.  They are gorgeous and it amazes me how much detail you can get with ehse kinds of layers! So….I headed off to Pinterest and searched “stepper cards” and found a TON!  None of them are as gorgeous as Clare’s cards 😉 but you will be able to find a simple tutorial on how to make them like this one here. You pretty much just make folds where you want layers.   SO COOL!

Bonus Saturday Post! Happy Turkey Day Cards

We have had so many great design ideas from our team this Thanksgiving that we have a bonus post for you this Saturday! Here’s a little bit about these projects from Tracy Gruber!

There is nothing like a good clean and simple card. First, stamp the leaves onto 3 different colors from the Core’dinations Darks Collection pack. Next, fussy cut them out, emboss them, sand them with the Sand It Gadget, and then attach them to the Core’dinations 110 lb. white card base. Use a Tombow 3D Foam Tabs to attach the yellow leaf. Finally, stamp the sentiment and attach a May Arts Natural twine bow.

TracyDarksLeavesCard

Supplies:
Coredinations Essentials – Darks
-Core’dinations 110 lb. White Card stock
Dust Buddy
-Sand It Gadget
-The Alley Way Stamps “It’s Fall About You”
-Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
-Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
May Arts Natural Twine
Tombow 3D Foam Tabs

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love polka dots! I wanted to create a fall card with lots of polka dots and navy blue. First, punch some 1″ and 1 1/2″ circles from the Core’dinations Darks Collection pack using a Fiskars punch. Next, emboss, sand, and attach them to a white card front. The turkey is stamped on some Core’dinations 110 lb. white card stock (this is perfect for coloring with Copics!) and colored in with Copics. Finally, attach the turkey and the sentiment with Tombow 3D Foam Tabs.
Supplies:
Core’dinations Darks Collection pack
-Core’dinations Neutrals Collection pack
-The Alley Way Stamps “It’s Fall About You”
-Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
-Copic Markers: R05, YR68, E25, Y15, B37
-Simon Says Stamp Speech Bubble dies
-Fiskars 1″ and 1 1/2″ circle punches
Don’t you think that sanding on the turkey just adds so much texture and dimension? SO CUTE!
Do you have a turkey for your traditional Thanksgiving meal? We have both turkey and ham! Since I didn’t have a ham image on my Cricut, I had to settle with the turkey cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. First, cut it at 2 3/4″ and emboss the light brown pieces with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Then, sand them and the dark brown piece, since turkeys are not one perfect shade of brown 😉 The “greenery” is Parsley Core’dinations card stock and the light blue “plate” is from the Core’dinations Essentials Pastels Pack. Next, use the gray card stock from the Core’dinations Essentials Neutrals pack and the orange piece from the Core’dinations Essentials Darks Pack. Finish the card by adding a May Arts Natural twine bow.
If you like cards you came to the right place, just sayin’! Today we have some gorgeous cards for you from our very talented design team member, . But first… we wanted to say Thank YOU for an awesome week and weekend of Cropping Hard Core style!
We will post winners as SOON as we can. We hope you had as much fun as we did. Seeing Core’dinations in action is always amazing and I learn so much and see so many new things.  So stay close!
Now here are Tracy Grubers two CUTE cards. She always stamps beautifully, don’t you think?
There is no question that I love to stamp and color with Copics.  The awesome part?  I can stamp on my Core Tags and then color them.  They are made with a really heavy card stock, which allows you to color and shade your images without the ink bleeding.  I used a Lawn Fawn stamp set to make this cute baby card.  The background is made with Spotted Jillian Dot and Vintage Core’dinations papers.
Studio Calico Wood Veneer
Lilac twine from The Twinery
The Chocolate Box Collection has some really cool card stock!  I love how one side is brown and the other side has a variety of colors that can be revealed when sanded.  I used one of this card that was a tan backing to keep with the “animal/jungle” theme.  I paper pieced the leaves with green card stock from the Darks paper pad.
Such a beautiful time of year and we are soaking it in on the Core Blog today with some fabulous Fall inspiration pieces!  If you were cropping with us then you saw this GORGEOUS card from Vivian Keh that is all about autumn colors! Make sure you check out her challenge and blog HERE for more amazing details!
What screams autumn color tones better than our Chocolate Box and Vintage Cardstock?  Heather Anne Kaesgan used both on this card for us today.
Creating with Core is easy! For this card,  Heather embosed the word “Hello” along the bottom and then added circles and Marvy Uchida punched flowers in the middle.  Did you know these Marvy punches actually punch the flowers with embossed designs? SO COOL!   Finish of your card with some May Arts ribbon and you are done! It’s all about sanding, sanding, sanding! So get out that Sand It Gadget and have some fun.
And next up a card from Tracy Gruber.  I LOVE how she mixed in some Black Magic for her fall themed card.
I love the fall season because there are so many gorgeous colors and fun fall activities!  Picking out the perfect pumpkin is always a great time, even when you are 23 ; )  I cut out the pumpkin on my card from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge at 3 inches.  I used card stock from the Core’dinations Neutrals, Brights, Darks, and Pastels for it.  For my background, I used Black Magic with an orange background.  I sanded it with the Sand It Gadget to reveal the orange through the black.  I added some stitching and natural twine to complete my card!
What a Wonderful Wednesday!
We have been hanging out with Heidi Swapp all week and let me tell you how inspired I am! Wow…their team is incredible. I love the attention to detail and the inspiration. Did you see Maridette’s interactive layout yesterday? I mean WOW! Definitely on my to do list to try.
On Wednesday’s Heidi takes over their blog so make sure you head over there today for some great ideas. I love her videos on the My Craft Channel. Today our team is working some more Mixed Company and some Believe Heidi Swapp projects.
First up Tracy Gruber!
I loved pairing the colors in the Heidi Swapp Mixed Company collection with the different Core’dinations cardstocks!  This confetti paper is so fun and really reminds me of the texture of Core’dinations with the dots so why not pair it with the  turquoise  cardstock from the Spotted Tillie Dot and the light pink from the Pastels paper pad?  Simply sand over both of them with your Sand It Gadget…it’s that easy!  I also cut 1 inch circles, embossed them with an embossing folder, and sanded them to create what looks like a scalloped border using the Navy from the Darks Collection pad.  I cut down the patterned paper to 11.5 x 11.5 inches and matted the whole thing with a piece of gray Core’dinations from the Neutrals paper pad. I like how this makes the Mixed Company patterned paper really “pop”.  To create the embellishments, I used my Spellbinder’s circles to cut the patterns from a piece the Mixed Company Good Life paper They look like premade embellishments!
And a close up…
TracyHeidiSwappLOClose
Tracy does such a great job on this card by mixing and matching the stripes and dots and adding some of the fun Heidi Swapp Chipboard stickers. They are the perfect accent for any card or layout. Just put them on my wish list 😉
I thought it would be fun to create a card using the extra supplies from my layout!  I used the same turquoise Spotted Tillie Dot and some patterned paper from the Mixed Company Collection.  I added some stickers and crinkle ribbon to complete my card!
And guess what we have in store for you tomorrow and Friday? The gorgeous Heidi Swapp Believe Collection!
Here is a little  sneak of this collection from Clare Buswell…don’t go far, you will want to see more of this Holiday collection this week. Loving how Clare used the Jingle All the Way 12×12 sheet for her sentiment on this card. Who doesn’t love some chalkboard and this sheet makes it EASY! No stamping…no mess…just some scissors.
Make card from cardstock. Emboss Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection cardstock, sand with Sand-It gadget and wipe with Dust Buddy. Ink edges with Distress Ink and adhere to card front. Add lace, ribbon and ric rac. Layer sentiment panel onto patterned paper, ink edges and machine stitch border, adhere to card with foam pads. Attach holly, string and bells embellishments.
