Spring has sprung!

Hi Everyone! Tracy Gruber here! Hopefully it’s starting to feel like spring where you are!  I decided to create my own beautiful flowers out of Core’dinations card stock to get me in the mood for spring and summer.  Start out by cutting the hydrangea from the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge at 4 inches.  Next, emboss a piece of White Wash card stock with the Cloudy Sky embossing folder from Darice.  I de-embossed it and sanded it so the clouds stayed white and the sky became blue.  Then, tear two strips of brown card stock to create the “dirt” at the bottom on the card.  Use the Fiskar’s grass border punch and Kraft Core card stock to create the grass that is behind the dirt.  Die cut the clouds from white card stock and stamp the sentiment on the medium cloud.  Adhere everything together for a fun card!

I love to create 3D flowers with my Core card stock.  After a little sanding, they start to look real!  Die cut the flowers using the Spellbinder’s Rose Creations die.  Bend each flower petal and then sand each one with the Sand It Gadget.  I like to attach each flower layer together with a brad, but you could use whatever you want. For the card base, layer together a piece of yellow and dark purple card stock.  Sand the purple card stock to give it a distress look.  Attach a white Core Tag to the card base and stamp the sentiment.  Lastly, attach each flower and the leaves onto the card front.

-Tim Holtz Distress Collection
-Tim Holtz Shattered Kraft Core
-Darks Card Stock

The ombre trend is hot right now and I love to use my Core card stock to create ombre backgrounds.  We have been having gorgeous sunsets lately, so I was inspired to create a card with a sunset that looks like it’s on fire!  I tore strips of red, orange, and yellow card stock and attached them to a white card base.  I die cut the sky line with a Memory Box die and used Glitter Silk for the buildings windows.  The windows look like they are really lit up because of all of the sparkle from the Glitter Silk card stock!  I used the speech bubble die from Simon Says Stamp and stamped the Paper Smooches sentiment on it.
Supplies:
-Tim Holtz Distress Collection
-Vintage Card Stock
-Darks Card Stock
-Brights Card Stock
-Glitter Silk card stock
-Neutrals Card Stock
110 lb Smooth Cardstock
-Memory Box Cityscape Nightline
-Simon Says Stamp Talk Bubbles 2 die
-Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set

I couldn’t resist! If you follow Jennifer Edwardson’s blog then you will know her daughter shows horses competitively and she is INCREDIBLE!  Jennifer always does such a neat job capturing those special moments like she did for us today.
And of course she used ALL Core’dinations Cardstock! Who doesn’t love that???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My studio is literally covered in red and pink and white for Valentine’s projects so I took a break and created a different kind of love layout using nothing but fab pieces of Core’dinations Color Core Cardstock !!!
I have endless pics of Em and her horses but her and Ginger are my fave to work with right now.  It’s not a secret that I am completely obsessed with this gorgeous mare !!
I started with a pre-embossed creme base and lightly sanded off the top.  I used several embossing folders on the other pieces.  I used a tiny polka dot folder for the blue and clocks for the brown (love this one :) ) ……
I punched 2 different sizes of hearts from (5) different colors of Core and then embossed and sanded each one.  When I layered them onto my layout I adhered the bottom flat and then tucked a piece of 3D foam under the top to raise pit up a little for more dimension.
I ran a piece of Kraft Core cardstock through my Silhouette to cut the title ‘enjoy every moment’ …. I say things like this all the time at home – live every day ect … so this title was great for this layout of these everyday pics of my 2 fave girls :) )
 I used my typewriter on a piece of creme cardstock for my journaling and then cut it up into a few pieces and rounded the inside edges …. adhered flat and this one is ready for Em’s album !!!
Tag, You’re it!  Well, maybe not you, but this layout is chock full of Core’dinations Core Tags.  Core Tags are such a great way to accent a layout, journal, or frame a photo like I did in this layout.
I used several different technques on the tags.  Crinkling and distressing, debossing and distressing, paper tearing and distressing, embossing and distressing all can be done on the Core Tags, just like you would any Core’dinations Cardstock.    The title Core Tag was even die cut in my Silhouette.  Before you try sending a Core Tag through your Silhoutte, remember to remove the grommet first. I added mine back after die cutting.
By keeping the grommets in the Core Tags before applying any techniques to the tags, it allowed for the gromments to take on a grungy, smooshed look.
What do you do to your Core Tags?  We’d love to hear about it!
Hello Core’dinations Fans!  Kate here today.  Not sure if you have noticed, but my style is pretty simple and colorful.  Just one of the things I love about Core’dinations Cardstock is the color core.  I love to use simple techniques to showcase the color core making my layouts so very colorful.
For this layout I had initially chosen a neutral pallete, but knew it was missing a pop of color.  I started by pulling in color through alternating layers of cardstock which I paper tore to show the colored core. I loved the pop of yellow from tearing the Black Magic so I found the perfect match of yellow in the Core Essentials Brights Collection and used that as my background paper.
Next time you need a pop of color in your paper project, try tearing your Core’dinations!
And Kim Moreno just uses a touch of tearing on her layout below. She does a great job mixing embossing, tearing, scoring ANd outlining on here. Again…don’t be afraid to check out our technique videos for more ideas!
During the holidays I was finally able to my sisters kids and mine together for a group picture… it wasn’t easy to get them all to smile and look at the camera but I managed to get one good shot in and just love it! I couldn’t wait to print and scrap it!
I used my ScorPal tool to create the embossed lines around the edge of my layout. I like doing this because I feel like it frames my layouts well and I like the look.
I then placed a large chipboard star behind my layout where I wanted it and using my Sand It Gadget sanded over the top of the cardstock to reveal the star image below the cardsock. I trimmed different sized stars from cardstock and embossed and sanded them each and attached to my layout using pop dots to a few of them to give them more dimension. I used the star embossing folder to emboss a strip of gray cardstock and sanded it to reveal the lighter gray core the tore the edge of some green cardstock and made banners of each and adhered to my layout. I added the title to finish my layout.
Hi! Jill from Every Day is an Occasion ( http://everydayisanoccasion.com/) here to share a really cute baby shower gift . This gift is for the person that has everything already…. or perhaps someone who is having their second, third or fourth baby! Babysitting coupons are ALWAYS appreciated, take it from a mom with two little ones right now!
If you have ever seen any of my projects on here before you know my love for Core’s BRAND NEW 110 lb white cardstock! This is no exception! I used it and ran it through my printer to print this cute tag (Just for You). My printer adores this paper, seriously!
JillCoreTagsJan2I used my Silhouette to make the cover of this coupon booklet. Basically I just typed in the words I wanted, added a heart and cut. I just trimmed off the corners to make it a tag. I used Darice’s pink polka dot washi tape on a separate tag. Then I used foam adhesive to attach the two together.
Then I used Core tags to make 5 days worth of coupons.
I love. Core. tags. They are so sturdy! My faves are the tags with the eyelets though because I like to use them with craft rings.
