This week we have a fun week in store for you….we are introducing our NEW 2011 Design Team.  For this special week, each Design Team member created a layout all about themselves.  We will be updating galleries daily with new projects from the team so make sure you check their galleries often!

First up is Melissa Oliveira.  Here is a little bit about Melissa in her own words:

I’m a native Cape Cod’er married to my best friend Bob. I am a mostly stay-at-home-mom to my 14 year old son Griffin, almost 2 year old daughter Maya Grace, and new baby girl Sadie. My scrapbooking began shortly after Griffin was born (complete with sticker-sneeze and creatively shaped cropped photos), and has developed into an intense love for all things paper realted. My camera is always at my side, ready to capture the every day moments that become the subjects of my scrapbook pages. I scrap because I want to remember all the little things, not just the holidays and birthday parties and major events (although those are important, too). I want to remember that Griffin refused to have his picture taken for a year, that Maya Grace’s hair is the curliest right after bath time, and that Sadie has the.best.dimples.ever. I have found an intense love for the Core’dinations brand of products and can’t imagine scrapping without them. I love creating my own embellishments and trying different journaling techniques with these uber-cool papers. In addition to paper crafting, I’m addicted to my sewing machine and crochet hook, as well as my ipod, flip flops, and the beach, of course!

Love the colors and the amazing combination  of Core on this layout from Melissa & her signature typewriter journaling!

Products used:  Cosmo Cricut Core Impressions, Core Essentials.

And next is Sarah Hodgkinson our  Design Team Core’dinator. Here is a little bit about Sarah in her own words…

My name is Sarah Hodgkinson and I live in Woodstock, ON, Canada with my husband and two children. I have been scrapping since 2003. I am a teacher and enjoy spending my free time with scissors, glue and paper. I currently serve on several design teams including Core’dinations (DT Core’dinator), Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine, All About Scrapbooks & More (LSS), and Custom Crops. I have been published in many crafting magazines and enjoy teaching at scrapbooking events such as ScrapFest and CreativFestival each spring and fall in Ontario, Canada.

Check out Sarah’s sense of humour on this layout! You can always count on her for some fun!

This layout is based on a sketch from Becky Fleck’s PageMaps 2 book.

To create the grid paper for journaling, I found a grid graphic, changed it to a light blue and then printed it onto Snowflake white cardstock with the journaling layered on top. And don’t forget to add those crazy, fun photos!

And next up we have Shaunte Wadley. Here is a little bit about Shaunte in her own words…

I am a 30-something, chocolate-loving, SAHM from Utah. I have been scrapbooking since 1997, the dreaded era of photos cropped with deco scissors. Since then, my work has evolved into a clean, linear, photo-focused style. I have been published a few times, been to a few trade shows, taught a few classes, worked for a few design teams…but have not yet lost the love for this hobby. I love it for the creative outlet, and the good people I have met along the way. My favorite subjects to scrap are my husband and five kids (I never lack for subject material ) I especially like making mini-albums of our many trips together. When I’m not scrapping, I am traveling, blog-hopping, reading, or editing photo shoots. And doing laundry. Always laundry.

This week we have a fun week in store for you….we are introducing our NEW 2011 Design Team.  For this special week, each Design Team member created a layout all about themselves.  We will be updating galleries daily with new projects from the team so make sure you check their galleries often!

First up for today is Brianne Neville.  Here is a little bit about Brianne in her own words:

My name is Brianne Nevill and I live in the beautiful pacific northwestern state of Washington. Our military home is bursting at the seams with myself, my handsome and VERY understanding husband, our adorable son, a dog, two cats, and sometimes a fish or two. Born and raised in MI, I never dreamed that I would follow love around the country and end up finding a passion in sharing our family adventures with paper and glue. In the past six years of scrapbooking, I have had the privilege of working for some fabulous teams in the industry, my work appear in multiple publications, and am now honored to be a part of the Core’dinations family!

How much do you love Black Magic??? Brianne really core’dinates her colors here and it just pops off that white Core Essentials cardstock!

Next up for today is Char Dobson.  Here is a little bit about Char in her own words:

Hey there! I’m Char from Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada! I am a wife, mother and avid paper crafter. By day I work as an Educational Assistant in the public school system. At night, after my kiddos are tucked into bed, you can find me creating cards, layouts and all types of crafty projects. I consider paper crafting to be my creative playground. In fact, one of the reasons why I love Core’dinations so much is the play factor. They are always coming out with a new line or I am trying a new technique. I am honored and thrilled to be part of the fabulous design team at Core’dinations!

Love the pop of blue on this layout by Char.

And a little bit about this layout:

Besides Core Essentials, the Jenni Bowlin Red & Black was the first Core Impression paper pack I had bought for myself. I love the blacks and creams, and of course that beautiful deep red! It is one of my favorites and I go back to it often. I chose to use this line for my ‘All ABout Me’ layout because I love the colours and romantic textures. The paper is just so pretty, it did a lot of the work for me! Just a little sanding made this cardstock really shine. It was the perfect choice to compliment the black & white photos I chose of myself, and to support my creative philosophy: inspire.dream.create.

We have another FABULOUS day for you today.  We have some MORE  inspirational Father’s Day project for you today.

We love dads and the men in our lives.

Leica Forrest created this uber cool layout using masking and the backside of her

Cosmo Cricket Core’dinations Core Impressions.

Leica flipped her Core Impressions over and use the backside and then masked her title.

Masking on Core!!! WE LOVE IT! Looks fabulous, doesn’t it? Just another way that Core’dinations can be your “go to” cardstock for ANY project.

Here is a detail shot for you.  LOVE this idea of masking on Core. Stay tuned for some more tips and tricks on this technique in the next few weeks! ;)

Feels Like It’s Time for a Challenge!

It’s June 1st. Let’s kick of this month with a fun CHALLENGE!

What do you think?

We just loved this technique that Melissa Oliveira shared with us yesterday on the blog that we wanted to extend the invitation to try it to YOU!

Journaling is such an important part of a scrapbookers journey to preserve memories and tell stories.

SO for this challenge….we want to see your Journaling. It doesn’t have to be this specific technique…you can journal any way you choose.

But  for this challenge there are a few things you must do:

1) JOURNAL

2.) Use Core’dinations Cardstock (it must be a visible component of the layout).

3.)  Link your project to THIS blog post or post it on our Facebook page. Make sure you “like” us, too!

4.) Show off a cool Core technique and we will throw in an additional chance to win!

The rest is up to you!

And how could I forget??? Of Course a random Winner will win some CORE’DINATIONS CARDSTOCK!

Here is a layout from Melissa Oliveira to get you inspired on the many ways you can journal on your Core.  The possibilities are endless and we can’t wait to see what you can do! For this layout she sanded where she journaled AND scored her journal lines. Brilliant!!!

Deadline for this challenge is two weeks…June 15th by midnight PST.

Core’dinations used: Cosmo Cricket Core Impressions, Basic Grey Core Impressions Ornate collection, Core Essentials.

And a close-up!

fight for our country and our freedom every day. THANK YOU!

Design Team Member April Derrick created this layout in remembrance especially for this post today. First off, isn’t this photo a treasure?   And check out the amazing details like the mixture of Core Impressions and how April turned the cardstock over and doodled on the backside!

And Design Team Member Brianne Nevill made this super cute project that is perfect for all your Memorial Day festivities!

LOVE all that vintage goodness!!!

Fabulous Friday Finds!

Yipppppeeeeee!

It’s Friday today and we have some fun finds for you today.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First up is a layout from  Sheri Twing’s , well, speaking of FIRSTS…this is  FIRST time Sheri used Core’dinations! Can you believe that? The thing that caught our eye about this layout is the subtle sanding on the Black Magic in the upper left hand corner and the complimentary spritzing down at the bottom. The two different techniques play so well off of each other, don’t you think?
Thanks, Sheri!!!
Other supplies used:
Mr. Huey’s spritz, Echo Park for the Record.
And next up is a fun layout from Amy Teets from their first snow. How cool is it that she turned the Cosmo Cricket Woodgrain Core Impressions on it’s side! Such an awesome look and so simple!
Thanks, Amy!!!
Today Linda Beeson shares a few simple steps to create this beautiful box that is perfect for your special Mother’s Day gifts.
All you need is some Cosmo Cricket Core Impressions Core’dinations Cardstock, adhesive and a scoring tool and you can create this gorgeous project, too. One of the reasons we love Core’dinations is that is a sturdy cardstock that will stand up to scoring and projects such as this.
For more information on scoring, please use this link and check out our videos.
Linda started with a 5″ square and scored 1″ lines on each side.
After scoring, cut on the scored lines on both sides and adhere:
VOILA! You have a gorgeous gift box:
The Great thing about using Core Impressions is that the cardstock is embossed and ready to go!
Add some crinkled flowers and a brad for some beautiful finishing touches.
