EEEEEK! I love Halloween so much I can’t stand it! So over the next few weeks we will be showcasing some Halloween projects for you. First up we have Ava Gavloski working her Core magic Halloween style
AND Ava totally works the Core Cuts. She used one of the diecuts from the Core Cuts pack, folded it in half and made a card out of it!BRILLIANT!
Tis the season of pumpkins and witches! This card was such a treat (no pun intended) to design. The Core’dinations Shazam Black Magic inner core, jumps from the Black magic collection. PERFECT for all you Halloween projects.
Take a close look at how crisp the sanded scrolls of orange vibrantly pop from the matted black texture of the core’dinations cardstock.
Now add a card base from the bold core cuts collection and you have a striking card to share with family and friends during this Halloween season.
How magical are the Imaginisce glam rocks on this blackboard feel presentation? Top off your cards with a bit of May Arts ribbon and you have the upscale look of fashion on your cards.
Tis the season upon us and what better way to celebrate and encourage the spirit of Halloween with some Halloween pictures which showcase Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Nostalgic cardstock collection. This layout came together so easy with the Nostalgic cardstock collection.
The colors are so festive. Sanding this kraft core give so much texture to the layout.
I have made a second page to complement the layout with a large pocket with tag’s, so that additional photo’s can be included.
I added a bit of coloured raffia and some Authentique pattern papers to bring out some color from the photo and all the elements showcase the happiness of the photo so well.
And check it out…we have another super cute project from Designer Shaunte Wadley!
Again those awesome tabs let you remove and close over and over again!
Shaunte used the Stamp Runner to adhere the embellishments and embossed pieces to the project. Here’s a bit more about this project from Shaunte, I really like the ease of adhesive placement, and the strong hold.
Then use the Hook and Loop Tabs for the enclosure. They are perfect to keep everything contained in my purse!
The post-it note holder (which included the perfectly nested separate squares that I embossed) is a Silhouette file, you can download it here.
The mini-pens I picked up at Dollar Tree. They come in a pack of 5, and are in the school supply section. The neon post-it notes are from Walmart, and are Post-It brand. But you can use whatever you choose.

One of the great things about Core is that you can mix and match ALL of our lines together SEAMLESSLY! This first card by Designer Suzanna Lee mixes Core’dinations lines and the David Tutera Celebrate layers to make the CUTEST card! Please, two different sized googley eyes? How ca-ute is that?!???!?!
Here are some tidbits from Suzanna regarding these projects:
One of the many amazing things about Coredinations is the texture you can create. The embossability of Core made it possible to create a whole beach scene; the waves below from Glitter Silk, the sunny sky from David Tutera layers and the clouds from good ol Snowflake. The Glitter Silk creates a lovely glimmer of sun reflecting off the waves! I prefer to stamp on a solid cardstock and find that the tags are the perfect size for that very purpose.

And next up a black and yellow card…one of my FAVE color combos!!! AND the Darice honeycomb/hexagon embosing folder is too perfect for this theme.
This card is inspired by the bee stamp. Browsing the aisles of the store, this stamp caught my eye and screamed, take me home with you! (Ever have that happen to you?!). Emboss some Core for a subtle hive for her to buzz around and you have an adorable card!

And a layout using some super cool techniques! Paper tearing…inking the Spotted Cardstock..Suzanna really works it here!
One of the tag lines for Core-dinations is Tear it and that’s what I challenged myself to do with this layout. I have a tearing phobia… I like things nice and neat and clean. There is nothing neat about tearing… I get in a quiet panic just at the thought of tearing. Sound familiar? Well, take a deep breath and do as I did, remind yourself that you have a thousand more pieces of paper in your stash and it’s okay of you “mess it up”. Though if you think about it, you can’t really mess it up. Tearing is tearing and it’s supposed to look that way! Right? Another nifty little thing I did with this layout is paint. Actually I used a brayer to roll paint onto the Spotted Jillian dot for a multi-color effect. Amazing what you can do with Core!!!
Here is close up of that inking on the white Spotted Cardstock!
And some lovely embossing details….

Today we have some layouts from Design Team Member Jennifer Edwardson! She is working some circles and tags for you today so we hope you enjoy!
This was a step outside of the box layout for me. I am very linear in my designing and usually shy away from circles since I can’t seem to keep them in a straight line ;)) I have been playing around with my Silhouette lately and found this super cute circle template so I cut it to 11 x 11″ using a piece of ‘Shattered’ cardstock.
I really wanted to use it twice on this layout so I layed it underneath my Kraft Core base and lightly sanded over top to have the image come through on top. I added my photo first and then started embellishing around it …… I took the circle template and carefully cut it into several pieces and adhered them around the photo slightly overlapping in spots and laying off the edge of the layout in others.
To add some more color I chose 4 pieces from the Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection and punched a couple sizes of circles out. I ran them through my Big Shot using a spotted embossing template and lightly sanded them to make the dots pop !! I raised all these circles around the layout to appear like I am ‘juggling’ lots of balls in the air …. (read the journaling)
AND how about some Core Tags? If you come around our blog a lot then you know how much we love love love Core Tags! They come with a metal grommet and are perfect for any paper crafter….scrabookers…cardmakers…we all love them and Jennifer has a layout that just rocks them!
Over the years I’ve seen adorable tag projects but have never takent the time to create one myself …. Until I got these fantastic Core’dinations tags – LOVE them !!!
Of course like many of you I’m sure, I tend to take an absolute TON of pics of my kids and the stack I have of Alexander’s 1st soccer camp from a few summers back was crazy !! Lots of them were taken from quite far away but the expressions on his face and his actions were so cute I wanted to capture them all but needed to crop the photos small to really focus on him.
I started with a Spotted Jillian Dot base in French Roast and sanded off the top to show my fave big dots underneath. I chose 4 colors in 2 sizes of tags to emboss and ran them through my Big Shot with different Darice embossing folders (LOVE the clouds) …..
I adhere them to the outside edges of the base and then strung natural colored twine through the eyelets and tied them together …..
I cropped my photos and lightly sanded the edges to give me a nice white border and then rasied them onto 6 of the tags using 3D foam. I typed my journaling onto Snowflake cardstock and trimmed it to fit throughout the layout ….. All that was left was to add a title with some mini alphas !!!
