I looooove Halloween! And when I got my hands on this Darice witch hat, I knew it screamed the need for some Core’dinations Cardstock.
Torn Cardstock Witch Hat Supplies:
- Black Magic Cardstock
- Jillian Spotted Cardstock
- Vintage Cardstock
- Sand it Gadget and Dust Buddy
- Darice paper mache hat
- misc black paint
- Xyron Adhesive
- MayArts Ribbon
Step 1: Paint the top and bottom of the hat black just in case any of the base of the hat sneaks through. Basic black craft paint works just fine.
Step 2: Tear different strips of Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock. Paper tearing never gets old! Core is great for this because the color core looks great. For tips on tearing our cardstock, view our videos here. Tear the strips, sand them with Sand it Gadget and white off with Dust Buddy. Using the Dust Buddy is important because it helps the adhesive stick.
Step 3: Adhere torn strips, rotating colors and patterns on the top of the hat and finish off with some May Arts Ribbon.
Step 4: Place on a pumpkin or other decoration.
Jennifer Edwardson here with you today with this little Darice paper mâché flower pot that has been calling my name for a while now! I LOVE the shimmer of the Gemstones cardstock and decided to create this entirely with all the fun colors I could. Plus, this is a GREAT way to use up scraps.
Gemstones Cardstock: Opal, Moonstone, Tanzanite, Yellow Topaz, Quartz, Amethyst, Peridot, Garnet
Misc flower punches and 1 1/2″ circle punch
Buttons and twine
1.) Start by punching out MANY 1 1/2″ circle of the Opal color and stared overlapping them all over the base of the pot using Mod Podge. I cut several in half for the rim as well.
2.) Put a styrofoam ball inside and covered it with kraft cut paper pieces that you can make on your own or buy at a local craft store.
3.) Punch multiple flowers using several colors and create flower picks using cut down wooden skewers.
4.) Add buttons tied with twine and your flower pot is complete.
