Gail Lindner here with a fun way to create your own clipboard embellishment to showcase your child’s homework or artwork for your next project:
My oldest is in the first grade this year and we have seen such a leap in her reading and writing skills! These days she is always writing in a notebook and I really want to remember her “newbie” writing!
I created the layout below with a photo from the first day of school and a special spot to add some samples of her writing that I find!
Core’dinations Whitewash Collection – Grandma’s Locker
Vintage Collection – Rivulet
Pastel Collection - Reflecting Pool
Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection – Dried Marigold
Core Essentials Buttercup and Chocolate Box cardstock
Avery Elle & My Favorite Things Dies
Thirsty Script font
I created my own background from some Whitewash Cardstock which I simply scored some lines across using my Scor-Pal. A quick sand revealed the yellow core and gave the subtle effect of lined notebook paper!
With some Chocolate Box, I was able to create a “clipboard” on my layout which is the perfect spot to add samples of my daughter’s writing! I simply cut it to size, rounded the corners and added a clip at the top! Just sand the edges a bit to give it that worn look.
I love this idea and think I’ll be re-creating it often on other projects!
I would like to share a Wedding Layout with you to celebrate February the month of Sweetheart Valentines.
I choose the Core Amour Whitewash cardstock to showcase how quickly pre-embossed collections from Core’dinations can have a layout completed with a great textured presentation.
I stamped the image using WOW embossing powder to gloss up the image to support the quality of the vintage Core’dinations cardstock. The pre-embossed vintage Core’dinations cardstock makes this card full with dimension after sanding to reveal the inner colored core.
Yes ma’am! But first, don’t forget to come back Monday! We have a great week lined up for you with our friends over at Lawn Fawn Stamps.
And next up we have THE CUTEST project EVER from Designer Heather Ann Kaesgan! Heather found this cute little night light kit at her local craft store (Pat Catan’s) and she altered it with some Core’dinations Cardstock. How ca-UTE is this??? Heather used some Spotted Cardstock in the 6×6 and a David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system Step Three Sentiment.
With the David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system, you can easily swap out the sentiment on the front. Use a more neutral cardstock base and you can change it every holiday!
And Heather adds such fabulous detail with the Washi Tape along the top. It’s just the perfect accent for any project.
