The most difficult part of this project is making the rosettes. Start by searching rosette tutorials on Pinterest, you will find a ton! Make a few of these out of core’dinating cardstock. Adhere to banners, adding trim and other embellishments. Don’t forget to cut out the USA title from some Glitter Silk Cardstock.
Next up, make the stars by doing some simple scoring. Scor from the back, fold and sand. The are super simple to make and we will need a few. Some for the frame itself and some for the buckets.
Add bits and pieces of different embellishments and you have a great piece of home decor. Shaunte Wadley
Let’s Celebrate Saturday…with David Tutera Celebrate cardmaking system!!!
The David Tutera Card Making system is fantastic for quick, easy and beautiful cards, but it is also perfect to create mini albums too! Designer Jennifer Edwardson created a super cute and FUN mini album for us today…ENJOY!
I chose several pieces to put this fun birthday mini together. The ‘cover’ to my album is a 5 1/2″ card base and the pages are (2) A7 (5 x 7″) white card bases. I layered these together and then used my Crop A Dile to punch 2 holes in the spine to thread my twine through.
To embellish the cover I used tags, ballons, twine and a layered sentiment sticker from Step 3 of this system. The bits to embellish with are so cute and together with some Bella Blvd. alphas they were perfect !!
Once I had my album bound together I started to create all the pockets and photos onto my pages. I added A2 and A1 cards to the main pages to create more spots for photos and cut the edges of a few for ‘hidden’ journaling spots. I left these space blank as Alex wants to write his memories of his special day in this album (LOVE this 🙂
I love how it all came together and this shows that by taking great basics and putting them together, you can create amazing ‘step outside the box’ projects !!!
Oh yes! Project life with David Tutera Celebrate. With the last few days of fall upon us, what are you going to do with all those photos? Pumpking picking, leaves falling, Halloween…you name it…we’ve got photos for it, right?
Well we have a cool is this idea from Designer Trine Brandt-Lassen using those Step 2 layers and Step 3 embellishments.
One of our NEW chipboard pieces from the embellishment kits layered on some David Tutera Casual Elegance burlap and more bits of the Step 2 layers!
How pretty is this Step 2 Lace Grid kraft layer? Because they are made to fit the A2 size, they will work perfectly for the 4×6 areas on your Project Life albums.
In the vellum pocket, Trine used a punch of the Step 3 embellishemtns and finished it of with the “So Thankful” sticker.
I know we have been giving you all sorts of Halloween Inspiration but today we are switching gears to something to be thankful for! Some truly gorgeous pieces from Designer Jennifer Edwardson that will make your Thanksgiving truly memorable. Thanksgiving in Canada was a few weeks ago but due to our three blog swaps, we are a bit behind on the blog. You can never complain about not enough inspiration around here, that’s for sure!
Thanksgiving in Canada is only a few weeks away and I love creating fun little place holders for the dinner table. I am loving my Silhouette more and more these days and I knew I wanted a tiny box to sit at each place setting. I found this great cut file by Lori Whitlock and started cutting. I used some brown cardstock for the base of several and also cut a few boxes using my fave white spotted cardstock too.
These were really easy to put together and I love the look of the embossed Core’dinations cardstock. It adds some great depth to the project.
As cute as the boxes were, I wanted a sweet embellishment for the top so again using my Silhouette, I cut out an adorable mini sunflower !! It was cut to be held together in the center by a brad but I wanted it a bit more 3 dimensional than that so I layered the two petal pieces with 3D foam and added a button with twine in the center.
I finished each box off with a mini tag from the David Tutera Celebrate collection. These little tags are adorable and were the perfect size for everyone’s names. I mixed white with a few of the pearl finish tags and tucked them under the ‘petal’ of the flowers. I am so excited to fill each box with a little note about what I am thankful for with each person…….what a nice little surprise at the Thanksgiving dinner table …… I wonder who is going to write in mine!
I have always loved the look of burlap on pretty much anything home décor and craft related so when I got a whole package of it from the David Tutera Wedding Collection I couldn’t wait to add it into my Core’dinations projects. This was a fun, quick and easy addition to the Fall / Thanksgiving décor I have been working on for the upcoming holiday (it’s on October 14th in Canada :)) …..
I cut a piece of burlap approx. 5 x 12″ and folded it in half. I ran it through my sewing machine on each side INSIDE OUT and then turned it ‘right side out’ again. I pulled a few strand of the burlap off the top to fray it a bit and then tied it using natural colored twine.
The Core Tags are SUPER and something that everyone should have in hteir stash. They come in several shapes and I love that I can just easily throw them into my typewriter to personalize them however I want. I added a few die cut leaves to the tag and bag and it’s ready for some fun fall treats …..
And Jennifer created this Thankful Frame using TONS of Tim Holtz Kraft-Core!
Our family recently moved into a new/old home that we are slowly renovating and one of the first things I asked to be built was a new mantle. I absolutely LOVE decorating a mantle for the different seasons and I needed a new Fall / Thanksgiving piece.
I took a basic white frame and removed the glass. I added a piece of Jillian Vanilla Crème cardstock behind the white mat that the frame came with.
I put the frame and matting back together and worked on the piece so that I knew I had all the bits where I wanted them. Using a piece of orange carstock from the Shattered Collection, I cut this phrase using my Silhouette. (love this)…..
I used (4) different pieces of cardstock to cut all these great leaves from my Silhouette as well. I used my embossing folders and Big Shot to add a bit of pattern to a couple of leaves and lightly sanded off the top to show a bit more interest !!
The David Tutera Wedding Collection has some AMAZING pieces and I am In absolute LOVE with this burlap. I cut several strips and pulled the ‘string’s top and bottom so it frayed slightly. Then I got out my hot glue gun and adhered it to the bottom edge of the frame. I wanted to ruffle it up a bit so I could add a few more ‘fallen’ leaves …… I love how this all came toghether and can’t wait to add it to my new mantle as soon as it’s complete !!!
