Today is ALL about David Tutera Celebrate and DesignerJennifer Edwardson:
With Valentine’s Day almost here I have been using LOTS of red and pink and white and kraft Core’dinations cardstock !!!
I started with an A7 (5 x 7″) kraft cardstock card base and added a piece of Bronzed Glitter Silk cardstock and adhered it towards the right edge.
I love love love my embossing folders and have been waiting to use these heart themed ones for Valentine’s Day !! I used a piece of Barn Door from the Tim Holtz and Ranger Distress Collection and ran it through my embossing machine and lightly sanded of the top to really have the pattern stand out ……
For the large heart I used a piece of Antique Vanity from the Whitewash Collection and put it through my eBosser. I sanded off the top to show the pink color and then used my precision scissors to cut around the detailed edge of the heart. I raised it using 3D foam off to the right edge of the base and added a smaller red heart on top as well !!
I wanted to add a bit of ribbon to this card and chose this shear white American Crafts which worked perfectly with the whitewash cardstock ….. some alpha stickers to create a sentiment and this card is ready to give on the big day :))
AND one more from Jennifer. These super cute boxes can be used for ANY occasion
Happy almost Valentine’s Day !!! Today I have some super cute and easy treat containers to share with you ……
Like most girls, I like a little sparkle in my life and the Core’dinations Core Couture Glitter cardstock is PERFECT as it has just the right amount of shimmer and it DOESNT RUB OFF !!
For my Treat bag I used this fun glitter cardstock and for the little box I used my fave spotted jillian dot (love this cardstock :))
Both of these are Silhouette cut files. Core’dinations cardstock works like a dream with this digital cutting system. Quick and easy cuts that were ready to fold into shape and get embellished !!
I gently sanded the dotted cardstock BEFORE i ran it through the Silhouette. This makes it easier so that you don’t tear the smaller notches and tabs that come with a box like this.
I used the negative heart shapes from the larger glitter bag to help embellish the white cardstock tag and then added a sentiment sticker to finish it off.
I just love this little bag …. so perfect for chocolate treats, cookies or gift cards too !! I added another Core’dinations tag that I embellished with a scalloped shape punch using red Core Essentials cardstock and added a heart shaped sticker and tied it on using white sheer ribbon ….. such a fun bag for any occasion !!!

Today we have some cards from David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system from one of our Designers …Jennifer Edwardson! If you love these cards make sure you check out her blog here! First up Jennifer mixed and match our Core’dinations Whitewash with a David Tutera Cardbase:
I love the look of ribbon folded paper and have done it before in different ways but I wanted to make a sweet and simple card using the White Wash and a border punch (LOVE the White Wash) …..
I started with a white A2 (4.25 x 5.5″) card base from the David Tutera Celebrate card making system. I cut (4) 2 x 5 1/2″ pieces of white wash and then ran each piece through the same border punch. I lightly sanded the top of each piece to see the colors show through and then started to layer them onto my card base.
I ran a strip of double sided tape along the top of each piece and adhered that part down first, starting at the bottom of the base and working up. Then I put 3D foam under the bottom punched edge to raise it off the base. I layered each one on top of the other and then wrapped some ribbon at the edge of the top piece. I stamped a thank you sentiment on the top right corner to finish it off ….. Super simple but super sweet - easy to use for any occasion !!
And another card from Designer Jennifer Edwardson:
I love the look of chevron on just about anything so I decided to create this quick and easy card with a chevron theme.
I started with an A2 white card base. I chose a piece of blue cardstock from the A2 Bulk Sheets pkg and ran it through my Big Shot using a Chevron embossing folder. I lightly sanded off the top to show the pattern and then started to layer (5) pieces from the A2 Border Strips pkg. They were a bit long as I turned the card to open vertically, so I just snipped the ends of the strips off. I chose the layered ‘thank you’ from the ‘Thanks 1 Sentiments’ sheets to finish it off …. add the included envelope and it’s good to go !!
It is no surprise here that we love our Authentique papers! Today Jennifer Edwardson has whipped up some amazing cards for your inspiration. See what you can do with some David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking system pieces and some gorgeous patterned paper? You can whip up TONS of cards is a short amount of time because all of the cardbases are premade, scored and folded for you. So make sure you check out Step 1 HERE.
I love giving sets of gift cards for birthdays, thank you and hostess gifts so when I saw the cellection of Authentique product I got to work with I knew it would be perfect for this !!
The colors in ‘Be(you)tiful’ are gorgeous and they work so well with the Core’dinations cardstock. I started all my cards using David Tutera Celebrate card bases. I chose the pearl cardstock cards – they have become my new fave – love the shimmer !! The colors of these cards worked so well with the colors in the patterned paper ……
I chose a few complimentary pieces of cardstock and got to work. On some cards I used embossing folders on the card base and others I embossed the cardstock and sanded and layered them mixed with the Authentique papers and die cuts …… I even had twine and sentiments in my studio to match !!
I was thrilled with being able to get a gorgeous set of (8) A2 sized cards using (1) 12 x 12 die cut sheet and a few pieces of patterned paper from a 6 x 6″ pad. Add in the card bases and a few pieces of Core’dinations cardstock and ta-da!
This is a lovely gold pearl card base from the Pearls assorted pack.
And don’t be afraid to emboss those card bases!

I know we have been giving you all sorts of Halloween Inspiration but today we are switching gears to something to be thankful for! Some truly gorgeous pieces from Designer Jennifer Edwardson that will make your Thanksgiving truly memorable. Thanksgiving in Canada was a few weeks ago but due to our three blog swaps, we are a bit behind on the blog. You can never complain about not enough inspiration around here, that’s for sure!
Thanksgiving in Canada is only a few weeks away and I love creating fun little place holders for the dinner table. I am loving my Silhouette more and more these days and I knew I wanted a tiny box to sit at each place setting. I found this great cut file by Lori Whitlock and started cutting. I used some brown cardstock for the base of several and also cut a few boxes using my fave white spotted cardstock too.
These were really easy to put together and I love the look of the embossed Core’dinations cardstock. It adds some great depth to the project.
As cute as the boxes were, I wanted a sweet embellishment for the top so again using my Silhouette, I cut out an adorable mini sunflower !! It was cut to be held together in the center by a brad but I wanted it a bit more 3 dimensional than that so I layered the two petal pieces with 3D foam and added a button with twine in the center.
I finished each box off with a mini tag from the David Tutera Celebrate collection. These little tags are adorable and were the perfect size for everyone’s names. I mixed white with a few of the pearl finish tags and tucked them under the ‘petal’ of the flowers. I am so excited to fill each box with a little note about what I am thankful for with each person…….what a nice little surprise at the Thanksgiving dinner table …… I wonder who is going to write in mine!
I have always loved the look of burlap on pretty much anything home décor and craft related so when I got a whole package of it from the David Tutera Wedding Collection I couldn’t wait to add it into my Core’dinations projects. This was a fun, quick and easy addition to the Fall / Thanksgiving décor I have been working on for the upcoming holiday (it’s on October 14th in Canada :)) …..
I cut a piece of burlap approx. 5 x 12″ and folded it in half. I ran it through my sewing machine on each side INSIDE OUT and then turned it ‘right side out’ again. I pulled a few strand of the burlap off the top to fray it a bit and then tied it using natural colored twine.
The Core Tags are SUPER and something that everyone should have in hteir stash. They come in several shapes and I love that I can just easily throw them into my typewriter to personalize them however I want. I added a few die cut leaves to the tag and bag and it’s ready for some fun fall treats …..
And Jennifer created this Thankful Frame using TONS of Tim Holtz Kraft-Core!
Our family recently moved into a new/old home that we are slowly renovating and one of the first things I asked to be built was a new mantle. I absolutely LOVE decorating a mantle for the different seasons and I needed a new Fall / Thanksgiving piece.
I took a basic white frame and removed the glass. I added a piece of Jillian Vanilla Crème cardstock behind the white mat that the frame came with.
I put the frame and matting back together and worked on the piece so that I knew I had all the bits where I wanted them. Using a piece of orange carstock from the Shattered Collection, I cut this phrase using my Silhouette. (love this)…..
I used (4) different pieces of cardstock to cut all these great leaves from my Silhouette as well. I used my embossing folders and Big Shot to add a bit of pattern to a couple of leaves and lightly sanded off the top to show a bit more interest !!
The David Tutera Wedding Collection has some AMAZING pieces and I am In absolute LOVE with this burlap. I cut several strips and pulled the ‘string’s top and bottom so it frayed slightly. Then I got out my hot glue gun and adhered it to the bottom edge of the frame. I wanted to ruffle it up a bit so I could add a few more ‘fallen’ leaves …… I love how this all came toghether and can’t wait to add it to my new mantle as soon as it’s complete !!!
