As you may have noticed…we, okay me, LOL….have been really ready for Spring around here. My daffodils are almost ready to bloom which means it won’t be long now.

Today we have Designer Andrea Amu with an “Upcycled Spring Basket” using Core Pastels collection. This project also features  product  from  our friends over at May Arts ribbon and Spellbinders.

And nothing screams Spring like birds! This monogram door hanger was featured in August 2012 Cricut Magazine…isn’t it gorgeous??!?!?!?!?  Andrea works that Cricut for sure!

On here you will see some Vintage Core and Core Essentials and May Arts ribbon.

Love love all the glittery accents!

Happy Wednesday!

Don’t forget about our Design Team call going on now. You don not want to miss out on being a part of this awesome team! And you could find yourself wearing this badge.

We have a WOW of a Wednesday for you today from Design Team Member Debbie Standard. How many diffferent embossed patterns can you get on a layout?

Now I count SIX on this layout.  Now actually it could be SEVEN because Debbie’s flowers are embossed, too!  Oh no, EIGHT because she has two different kinds of embossed flowers from her Spellbinder’s dies. Now..here is the catch?!?!?!  Think you can do more?!?! Well, let’s see if you can!

WE CHALLENGE YOU TO GET AS MANY EMBOSSED PATTERNS ON LAYOUT AS YOU CAN! You have until the end of this month, March 31st,  to link your layout to THIS blog post or on our Facebook page. You must use Core’dinations cardstock on your project. It can be any kind…you can emboss it yourself or use our Core Impression lines so the sky is the limit!

Happy Creating!

Happy Tuesday!

Here is how she did it:
Jillian Dot Cardstock for the card base

Donna & Kerrie..email ellen_sosnoski@coredinations.com with your name, address and phone number by March 15th to claim your prize.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So how about Tuesday’s tip? I created this layout about our yearly St Patty’s Day parade. We go every year and just love, love it. It’s in a small town near us and it is CrAzY! The boys love it…they love the  necklaces and the candy they get. I, of course, love the bagpipes.   For this layout I used some Core Cuts, Core Couture, Spotted, Brights, Stacy Julian Core Impressions and Whimsy Core Impressions from BasicGrey.
I know we have said this a gazillion times before but it is amazing how EASILY our collection packs Core’dinate!
So what is the tip?   I have a few for you today :)
1.) After distressing your edges, use a dark contrasting color to ink like I did here with black. I love the way it looks against the pink Core Couture cardstock.
2.) Use pre-embossed cardstock,  like our Core Impressions lines or Step two layers from David Tutera Celebrate, for your die cuts. It is so so easy! It is just one less step then embossing them yourself.
I used Lifestyle Crafts dies for this layout.
And my last tip is…..
3.) Use of the large tags from Step 3 David Tutera Celebrate cardmaking system for a journaling tag. One of our smaller tags wasn’t big enough for what I wanted to say so I reached for one of these. Plus the cardstock is smooth.
Please note the Stacy Julian Cardstock is no longer available as it has been discontinued. Stamps are Lawn Fawn, Ink by Memento, tickets are Maya Road and  misc buttons from my stash, Glue Arts adhesive.
AND DON’T FORGET ABOUT OUR DESIGN TEAM CALL HERE!!!!!!!! ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT TO ENTER!!!!
All you need is some Vintage Core’dinations, Glitter Silk Cardstock , Gemstones and an old frame and you have all you need to make your very own Shadow Box!
Andrea die cut the hearts for flowers from her Cricut, added some Queen & Co. pearls,  and wrapped the stems in twine. Backing the title is a GREAT way to make it pop, too!   Layer bits and pieces of the project to added depth. This is a great way to create your very own home decor for any holiday or season!
And GUESS what???!?!?!?!!?
OUR DESIGN TEAM CALL IS POSTED HERE!
CHECK OUT! You don’t want to miss the opportunity to design with the BEST cardstock!
Tuesday’s Tip…Scraps from a Sketch
Hi! Ellen here with my take on Lydia’s sketch. Not much time so hurry up and LINK YOURS HERE or share it on our Facebook page!
My Tuesday Tip is all about scraps so keep reading ;)
And in case you missed it…here is the sketch from Designer Lydia Jackson:
Here are some close ups …the first one is of the BasicGrey Core Impressions and some of the scoring with my Score-Pal:
Next up the butterflies…I like to mix up the embossing folders with the dies.  Folders are a mix of STampin’ Up! And Darice.  Embellies are a mix of Studio Calico and October Afternoon.
AND ..last but not least…
My Tuesday Tip is to use those scraps. Now, if you are  like me you need to do this right away or I end up putting them on a pile in my desk.  So if I don’t use them on a card or another project immediately then I probably won’t.
So here is my card with my left over butterflies. The base is Pink Paislee Modern Prints Core Impressions and the envelope is from Maya Road.  All Adhesives are from 3L and burlap string is from May Arts.
Vintage Cardstock for the moon, and the bats and the pumpkin/leaves.
Glitter Silk for the purple on the base, and Core Couture for the witch Silhouette.
Don’t forget to head over to Petaloo blog and the Sweet Stamp Shop blog to check things out. I heard some rumors there are goodies up for grabs over there, too! (Keep  in mind SSS is PST time so they be up a bit later).
We will be giving away some goodies here on the blog for commenting ALL WEEK long (make sure to comment on every post here for more chances to win)
AND head over to our Facebook page, too! Leave a comment over there about what the first day of school is like in your house!  I know it is a crazy day here!!! And if you don’t have kids in school then share a found memory you have about your first day of school.  We want to here it…we are gearing up for 8000 likes over there and can’t wait!
Today, Day Two, we have Shaunte Wadley working some skills on a fun little treat box and soda treat that is sure to get any kid an “A” with their teacher! Shaunte used the School’s Out Stamp set from SSS…anyone that has kids in school NEEDS this stamp!
And some fabulous details of the Petaloo flower (they core’dinate so well, don’t they???)  and Sweet Stamp Shop stamps…
and Shaunte used Spectrum Noir markers to do the coloring. They are beautiful and smooth and just so easy to use.
In addition to stamping, Shaunte printed on her Core’dinations Cardstock, too! Don’t be afraid to mix up those fonts and colors!
Dies used today are from Lifestyle Crafts.
