We are so excited for this week and trust me when I say our papers are a match made in heaven! But seeing is believing, right? So make sure you stick around all week long for some inpsiration and a giveaway of course!
Make sure you check out the Authentique BLOG for more ideas and a giveaway AND you can find their complete lines of gorgeous papers HERE. Today is all about cards, cards and more cards using the Authentique Be(you)tiful line.
First up Debbie Standard shows us how all you need is some Core Essentials and gorgeous patterned papers to make some quick and easy cards! Love how Debbie mixes the hexagons with other prints using her embossing folders.
Cardstock: Core’dinations Darks Collection
Patterned Paper: Authentique Be(you)tiful collection
This card from Debbie showcases a great way to use those scraps! You can cut out shapes from your Core and save them for another project and use the negative space.
Cardstock: Core’dinations Core Essentials
And next up we have Vivian Keh with some more cards…loving the Vintage Cardstock on this first one. Everyone LOVES a gray color palette and the Be(you)tiful is perfect for it! I know gray has become my “go to” neutral.
And a gorgeous close up:
Hemp for cards is a favorite of mine because you can add a soft touch and it’s not too bulky:
See how Core and Authentique match PERFECTLY???
Get out those diec cuts and pop up dots! Just some simple shapes cut out of cardstock, and of course sanded, not only add visual interest but it makes cardmaking easy!

Make sure you head over to their BLOG, PINTEREST, FACEBOOK pages to find out all the other chances you can win. Here is a sneak of what is going on over there today. Please keep in mind we are in two different time zones so in case we are off on our times bit please forgive us. We are getting our coffee ready when they are getting ready for bed.
We have some gorgeous projects for you today! Three very different takes on what you can do with Core’dinations and Couture Creations projects. Mixed Media and a CAS card…something for everyone.
First up Designer Ava Gavloski. She is the queen of texture! She always is inspired by life and created this mixed media canvas for us today. Here is a little bit about this project from Ava….Recently, I visited the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada ( www.rbg.ca). That visit inspired me to create my Core’dinations Couture Creations canvas. There is a plant at the rock garden called a Helleborus that likes the shade and the young leaves of the plant look like a pale mint green flower which eventually become the leaves of the plant.
I folded tissue paper making a stack of 4 sheets for each of the 3 flowers die cutting with the Couture Creations Doily die. Keeping the tissue paper stacked together after removing from the die, fold the flower in half and half again and hot glue the edges as you shape the doily flower. Spray with your favorite re-inker/water mixture and dry.
And a close up of that gorgeous Fantasia Doily Die from Couture Creations:
Then the fun part of this project was selecting the various green co-ordinating colors from the Core’dinations collections that harmonize with each other. Core’dinations collections sing in harmony on this organic canvas.
And we are looooving the 3D Foam Adhesive from Couture Creations! Check out this great detailed shot from Jill showing all that dimension:
Core’dinations- Vintage Collection (Black and Green), Glitter Silk 6×6 pad
Couture Creations: Fantasia Collection- Tatted Lace
As you may have noticed…we, okay me, LOL….have been really ready for Spring around here. My daffodils are almost ready to bloom which means it won’t be long now.
And nothing screams Spring like birds! This monogram door hanger was featured in August 2012 Cricut Magazine…isn’t it gorgeous??!?!?!?!? Andrea works that Cricut for sure!
Love love all the glittery accents!
Don’t forget about our Design Team call going on now. You don not want to miss out on being a part of this awesome team! And you could find yourself wearing this badge.
We have a WOW of a Wednesday for you today from Design Team Member Debbie Standard. How many diffferent embossed patterns can you get on a layout?
Now I count SIX on this layout. Now actually it could be SEVEN because Debbie’s flowers are embossed, too! Oh no, EIGHT because she has two different kinds of embossed flowers from her Spellbinder’s dies. Now..here is the catch?!?!?! Think you can do more?!?! Well, let’s see if you can!
WE CHALLENGE YOU TO GET AS MANY EMBOSSED PATTERNS ON LAYOUT AS YOU CAN! You have until the end of this month, March 31st, to link your layout to THIS blog post or on our Facebook page. You must use Core’dinations cardstock on your project. It can be any kind…you can emboss it yourself or use our Core Impression lines so the sky is the limit!
First up just a reminder that our DESIGN TEAM CALL is going on NOW! You don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to be able to create with Core’dinations all day, every day!
We hope you had a GREAT weekend and a fun St. Patrick’s Day! Beleive it or not we got FOUR inches of snow here yesterday! So the kids were home early and we had one last snow day, hopefully, boefore the first day of spring this week!
Speaking of Spring….when I think of Spring, Easter is one of the things that pops into my head.
Designer Shaunte Wadley created this for us today celebrating a classic Easter delicatessen, PEEPS! AND she used hers scraps. TOO CUTE!
Here is how she did it:
Jillian Dot Cardstock for the card base
Gemstone Cardstock for the Peeps and flower
May Arts ribbon, Queen & Co. Washi Tape (for those cute pin flags again!), Bunny is Lifestyle Crafts die.
Good Tuesday Morning!
First up we have our CardMaps winner…………….
What a great giveaway! I just found out about Cardmaps and would love to win this magazine!
And we have our Sketch Winner, too! Kerrie Gurney come on down! We have a Core prize pack for you!
Donna & Kerrie..email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, address and phone number by March 15th to claim your prize.
So how about Tuesday’s tip? I created this layout about our yearly St Patty’s Day parade. We go every year and just love, love it. It’s in a small town near us and it is CrAzY! The boys love it…they love the necklaces and the candy they get. I, of course, love the bagpipes. For this layout I used some Core Cuts, Core Couture, Spotted, Brights, Stacy Julian Core Impressions and Whimsy Core Impressions from BasicGrey.
I know we have said this a gazillion times before but it is amazing how EASILY our collection packs Core’dinate!
So what is the tip? I have a few for you today
1.) After distressing your edges, use a dark contrasting color to ink like I did here with black. I love the way it looks against the pink Core Couture cardstock.
2.) Use pre-embossed cardstock, like our Core Impressions lines or Step two layers from David Tutera Celebrate, for your die cuts. It is so so easy! It is just one less step then embossing them yourself.
I used Lifestyle Crafts dies for this layout.
And my last tip is…..
3.) Use of the large tags from Step 3 David Tutera Celebrate cardmaking system for a journaling tag. One of our smaller tags wasn’t big enough for what I wanted to say so I reached for one of these. Plus the cardstock is smooth.
Please note the Stacy Julian Cardstock is no longer available as it has been discontinued. Stamps are Lawn Fawn, Ink by Memento, tickets are Maya Road and misc buttons from my stash, Glue Arts adhesive.
AND DON’T FORGET ABOUT OUR DESIGN TEAM CALL HERE!!!!!!!! ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT TO ENTER!!!!
Didn’t win this time? Don’t forget about about our $100 David Tutera giveway HERE!
