Hi there Core Fans! It’s Joann here with you today. This month we are featuring projects made with the fabulous Core Vellum and Core Vellum Quotes, and today I decided to combine both for you for this particular project. This was my first time using Core Vellum and I must tell you it’s a pleasure to work with. In the past when I’ve used regular vellum I have not had a lot of success with heat embossing… Not the case with Core. Your heat embossing works like a charm. I will never use any other vellum again now…
Butterfly Luminary Supplies:
- Coredinations Vellum Baby Pink – GX-2300-98
- Coredinations Vellum Gold Metallic – GX-2300-94
- Coredinations Vellum – GX-1810-10
- Coredinations Core Essentials Pastels Cardstock
- Coredinations Inspirational Vellum Quotes
- Core Basics 80 lb White Cardstock
- Sand It Gadget & Dust Buddy
- Darice Nesting Rectangles Embossing Essentials Die
- Spellbinders Butterfly Magic Die
- Spellbinders Dainty Dots Embossing Folder
- Spellbinders Les Papillions Two Die
- Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms PreCut Set – HCPC 3608
- Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms Die – HCD 748
- Party Pink Embossing Powder
- Liquid Adhesive
- Silhouette Cameo
To make this project, follow these steps.
Step 1. Start by cutting a piece of White cardstock 11″ x 6 1/4″ and using the Spellbinders Butterfly Magic Die cut out your pattern. For the best possible box use the Core Basics 80 lb or 110 lb. card stock! Next, taking a piece of Coredinations Vellum Baby Pink in the same size, emboss it using the Spellbinders Dainty Dots Embossing Folder. Once the vellum is embossed, attach the vellum to the White cardstock and then roll into a circle. Note: try to curve your cardstock prior to attaching it in a circle. This will allow the project to hold the shape better.
Step 2. Using the Darice Nesting Rectangles Embossing Essentials Die, cut out the Vellum quote and the paper using the next larger size. The flowers are stamped using Versamark and Party Pink Embossing Powder and heat embossed prior to die cutting them out.
Step 3. Finally, layer on your pieces and decorate the box as desired.
Here is pic of what the Luminary looks like with the flameless candle turned on.
Thanks for stopping by for a peek… Have a wonderful day my crafty friends!
All week long we are playing with Authentique papers! How awesome is that?
We are so excited for this week and trust me when I say our papers are a match made in heaven! But seeing is believing, right? So make sure you stick around all week long for some inpsiration and a giveaway of course!
Before we give you all the goods PLEASE check out both companies on Pinterest and follow them for endless inspiration!
First up we have Mary Pat Siehl with a layout using the Seasons Autumn layout. She really embraces the Autumn color palette with the rusts and reds and I love that touch of navy blue!
You can see the beauty of the Core’dinations inner core with each page being embossed and sanded. The Authentique pattern papers match perfectly with Core’dinations cardstock.
This Authentic Tradition collection is truly a complete collection to allow for a finished album without the need to purchase additional supplies.
The Authentique sticker elements embellished the album by bring back memories of our Christmas Eve Celebration.
We have been hanging out with Heidi Swapp all week and let me tell you how inspired I am! Wow…their team is incredible. I love the attention to detail and the inspiration. Did you see Maridette’s interactive layout yesterday? I mean WOW! Definitely on my to do list to try.
On Wednesday’s Heidi takes over their blog so make sure you head over there today for some great ideas. I love her videos on the My Craft Channel. Today our team is working some more Mixed Company and some Believe Heidi Swapp projects.
First up Tracy Gruber!
I loved pairing the colors in the Heidi Swapp Mixed Company collection with the different Core’dinations cardstocks! This confetti paper is so fun and really reminds me of the texture of Core’dinations with the dots so why not pair it with the turquoise cardstock from the Spotted Tillie Dot and the light pink from the Pastels paper pad? Simply sand over both of them with your Sand It Gadget…it’s that easy! I also cut 1 inch circles, embossed them with an embossing folder, and sanded them to create what looks like a scalloped border using the Navy from the Darks Collection pad. I cut down the patterned paper to 11.5 x 11.5 inches and matted the whole thing with a piece of gray Core’dinations from the Neutrals paper pad. I like how this makes the Mixed Company patterned paper really “pop”. To create the embellishments, I used my Spellbinder’s circles to cut the patterns from a piece the Mixed Company Good Life paper They look like premade embellishments!
And a close up…
Tracy does such a great job on this card by mixing and matching the stripes and dots and adding some of the fun Heidi Swapp Chipboard stickers. They are the perfect accent for any card or layout. Just put them on my wish list
I thought it would be fun to create a card using the extra supplies from my layout! I used the same turquoise Spotted Tillie Dot and some patterned paper from the Mixed Company Collection. I added some stickers and crinkle ribbon to complete my card!
And guess what we have in store for you tomorrow and Friday? The gorgeous Heidi Swapp Believe Collection!
Here is a little sneak of this collection from Clare Buswell…don’t go far, you will want to see more of this Holiday collection this week. Loving how Clare used the Jingle All the Way 12×12 sheet for her sentiment on this card. Who doesn’t love some chalkboard and this sheet makes it EASY! No stamping…no mess…just some scissors.
Make card from cardstock. Emboss Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection cardstock, sand with Sand-It gadget and wipe with Dust Buddy. Ink edges with Distress Ink and adhere to card front. Add lace, ribbon and ric rac. Layer sentiment panel onto patterned paper, ink edges and machine stitch border, adhere to card with foam pads. Attach holly, string and bells embellishments.

I really enjoyed using Couture Creations products with Core’dinations Cardstock! The embossing folders are really crisp and the embossing really stands out on all the Core’dinations Cardstock. The doily die is incredibly intricate, yet it cut through the hearty Core’dinations Cardstock like butter. I look forward to playing with these product again! ~Kate

The background is BasicGrey Core Impressions
