Happy Easter Layouts

With Easter this week, we thought some layouts for you today would be a great way to get those creative juices flowing for all those photos!
First up Kate Nolan-Denham:
Believe it or not, I built this layout around the bunnies.  I couldn’t help but notice that the pastel colors in the Core Couture Glitter Collection looked like Easter Peeps.
I created the peep scene by cutting green, yellow, pink and blue bunnies out of Core Couture Glitter  with my Silhoutte.  I crimped their ears a bit to give them dimension.
The green grass was cut out of a 12″ strip of the green in the Light Graphic 45 Collection, matching the background green cardstock.  I just randomly snipped the top 1″(or so) of the strip and sanded afterwards.  Sanding after I snipped made the individual blades of “grass” stand out more.  Don’t forget to use your Dust Buddy after sanding to give it that finished look!

Hand Stitched Paper Heart Treat boxes

March 18, 2014 by

Hi there! Jill from Every Day is an Occasion ( http://everydayisanoccasion.com/ ) here to share a fun way to package a treat. I was thinking these would be fun for Valentine’s Day, but also for a favor for a wedding shower, or even a birthday party. I just love these little treats. I think they are so fun!!

Hand Stitched Paper Heart Treats

Heart Treats

To create these little fellas, I traced a heart pattern I had lying around onto Fancy Pants Embossed Core and Lavendar Core. Then I cut them out. You could find a heart pattern on the internet and print it out and use that as a pattern or you could draw one. Then I used the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy straight attachment to create the holes around the heart.

Image

After the holes were punched, I just went ahead and hand stitched following the directions that came on the package. It was really fun and relaxing. If you haven’t hand stitched yet, I say give it a shot because it is fun. I love how it looks on a layout too! One piece of advice, make sure to sand your embossed paper after you have the heart all stitched up. When I sanded before it made the heart too pliable and harder to punch through. Before I stitched the heart up I added some Sixlets.

Let’s get started with some Heidi Swapp Mixed Company projects with Suzanna Lee:

I wanted to match my Coredinations cardstock to the wonderful colors that Heidi used in this line and compliment the dots and circular textures used in the patterned papers. Though subtle, the top dotted punched border is made using some of Core’s spotted line to compliment the confetti of the background. Check out those letters!! My favorite part of this layout. First, cut out your title (I used Bebas font with my Silhouette). Then rub Distress stain on your embossing folder, place your letters in the folder and run it through your die cutting system. I do recommend waiting for the letters to dry and bit before removing them from the embossing folder so as not to “stretch” them.

And next up Debbie Standard working that Heidi Swapp Mixed Company and Core’dinations Fancy Pants Core Impressions. It’s amazing how these color just work perfectly together!  Debbie used her Spellbinder’s dies to really work that patterned paper and Core’dinations and make her own unqiue embellishments. Then, she hand cut some of the gorgeous flowers found in the Mixed Media line. Don’t be afraid to mix and matc the flowers and graphic prints found in this gorgeous line for unique, one of a kind scrapbooking layouts and projects.

Speaking of Fancy Pants Core Impressions….Jill Lebbin used hers for this cute mini album page:

Hi! I’m Jill from Every Day is an Occasion here to share a project I made using the Xyron mega runner and Core’dinations Fancy Pants Core Impressions and pink Vintage cardstock. I also used some Authentique patterned paper. My daughter turned two recently and so we got her two year old pictures taken. I just adored this one and had to create a mini album page layout.

Mini Album Two Year Old Layout

Fancy Pants Details

As mentioned before, I used the Xyron Mega tape runner. Even though it is called a “mega” tape runner it isn’t so mega that it is obtrusive to your crafting. Actually, I love the size of the mega tape runner. I also love the refill system, so simple and quick! Thank you Xyron!!!

In this layout I used the Fancy Pants Core impression paper for the photo frame, and then I sanded it. The pick accents are the Core’dinations Vintage Collection. I cut out the accents using my Silhouette Cameo.

Materials:

Fancy Pants Core Impressions, Vintage Core’dinations, Authentique Patterned paper, Vintage sequins from stash (the were my great grandmother’s), flower, Xyron mega tape runner, Sand it Gadget and Dust Buddy.

Lets start with quality Xyron Adhesive and the best cardstock on the market…Coredinations!

You need some GREAT adhesive for this. Have you ever made a project like this and then the next day it’s all popped apart?  Not with Xyron. This beauty is still going strong!

Now, look at how lovely the Couture Creations Embossing folder showcases the Core’dinations inner colored cardstock.

Adding some Graphic 45 papers to the top of the cake was a delight. To complete the bridal presentation I made a card and decorated a candle holder to match the festive occasion.

And a layout from Designer Kim Moreno!

kim Birthday Surprise (1) kim Birthday Surprise (2)

Here’s how Kim created this layout:

I used my ScorPal again to create the border around the edge of my layout and then sanded it slightly. I then sanded and cut out the ledger cardstock and adhered it to the center of the black cardstock. I matted my photo with the red cardstock and tore it along the bottom to reveal the colored core of the red cardstock. I cut out the clocks and sanded each of them to reveal the kraft core.  Then layered my photos and embellishments to finish my layout.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Core Essentials (Nightfll, Scarlet), Core Impressions (Jenni Bowlin, Graphic 45)
Stickers: Jillibean Soup (yellow “joy”)
Sand it Gadget and Dust Buddy
Letter Sticker: American Crafts (yellow), Doodlebug (black glitter)
Embellishments: Simple Stories
Flag Pins: Maya Road
Tool: ScorPal
