How many types of Core’dinations can you get on one layout? Keep reading to find out!
Core Basics - 110lb White
Tim Holtz – Adirondack

Suzanna Lee here and I wanted to share with you this pocket page layout created entirely from Core’dinations cardstock. Not a lock of patterned paper in there. Well, there is a smidge of vellum! Guess how many different types of Core there are there? My point being, you don’t have to go out and buy those fancy cards when you can create your own cards from cardstock! Different types and the textures you can create with die cuts, embossing and stamping provide you with all the spice and variety you need!
Embossing and sanding with letter stickers. Overlay color on color for some variation.
Layer Whitewash on Core Essentials that has been embossed and sanded. Layer Gemstones on vellum and stamp.
The man and women were created with the likeness of the bride and groom in mind. I used Maya Road acetate shaped and rubbed with my Sand It Gadget on the paper leaving the outline of the people. I pushed down on the edges in order to create the slightly embossed look.
Did you guess correctly? Seven, 7 types of Core’dinations cardstock in that pocket page!
A little goes a long way with Core’dinations! it is amazing how easy you can make monochromatic projects with just a few sheets of cardstock!
Vivian Keh has so many small yet incredible details on this card.
Core’dinations – Tim Holtz Kraft Core, Gemstones
Sizzix – Floral Die
Ranger – Crackle Accents
Viva Decor – Pearl Pen
A great way to add interest to your projects is to cut an image from the same color cardstock as your layout or card base. It is visually interesting and, in some instances, even looks like faux embossing! Plus…I am a sucker for fur baby layouts!
Hi there, Core’dinations friends! Vivian Keh here to share a layout of one of our furry babies, Jujubee. This past Christmas Eve, sadly, we lost her to cancer so I wanted to honor her in a layout.
Here are a few close ups of the details:
I die-cut these pretty birds using Core’dinations Core Essentials in Burgundy, sanding the edges for an elegant, subtle effect. For a bit of dimension, I propped the birds’ wings up on a small pop dot.
The pretty flourishes were crafted the same way, creating nice movement without being distracting.
To soften the horizontal lines of the composition, I added some Sizzix die-cut branches in a softer hue, “Concerto,” and paper punched some dainty blossoms in “Snowflake.”
This butterfly in the softest tint, “Rose Embroidery,” was dry embossed and sanded to further the natural theme of this layout.
I hope you enjoyed my project today. Thanks so much for visiting with me here on the Core blog. Looking forward to next time!

Mary Pat Siehl is sharing a fun Easter themed card for us today featuring some stamping and our BRAND NEW 110 cardstock
. But guess what? She isn’t just stamping on it, she embosses it and stamps on her Core Essentials
1. Start with Core 110 lb smooth cardstock and emboss it using a Darice embossing folder.
TIP: Want that sanded look from your ColorCore Cardstock on stamped images? Sand your cardstock first using your Sand it Gadget from Core’dinations.
Clean the surface of your paper and then stamp your image. Making sure you clean your surface with a Dust buddy is SO important! Your image will stamp much much cleaner!
I stamped my eggs and then fussy cut them out. Now they have a bit of a soft distress feel to them even though they were in the bright collection! Last but not least I cut some grass out using the Gemstone collection and my Silhouette and here is what I came up with!
Stamps- The Alley Aay stamps
ink- Memento, Hero arts
Spectrum noir markers
Darice embossing folder

Hi Everyone! Tracy Gruber here! Hopefully it’s starting to feel like spring where you are! I decided to create my own beautiful flowers out of Core’dinations card stock to get me in the mood for spring and summer. Start out by cutting the hydrangea from the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge at 4 inches. Next, emboss a piece of White Wash card stock with the Cloudy Sky embossing folder from Darice. I de-embossed it and sanded it so the clouds stayed white and the sky became blue. Then, tear two strips of brown card stock to create the “dirt” at the bottom on the card. Use the Fiskar’s grass border punch and Kraft Core card stock to create the grass that is behind the dirt. Die cut the clouds from white card stock and stamp the sentiment on the medium cloud. Adhere everything together for a fun card!
-Cricut Walk In My Garden cartridge
-Fiskars Grass Border Punch
-Memory Box Puffy Clouds die
-Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me stamp set
-Darice embossing folder
Happy Spring Card:
I love to create 3D flowers with my Core card stock. After a little sanding, they start to look real! Die cut the flowers using the Spellbinder’s Rose Creations die. Bend each flower petal and then sand each one with the Sand It Gadget. I like to attach each flower layer together with a brad, but you could use whatever you want. For the card base, layer together a piece of yellow and dark purple card stock. Sand the purple card stock to give it a distress look. Attach a white Core Tag to the card base and stamp the sentiment. Lastly, attach each flower and the leaves onto the card front.
- Lawn Fawn Jessie’s ABC’s stamp set
The ombre trend is hot right now and I love to use my Core card stock to create ombre backgrounds. We have been having gorgeous sunsets lately, so I was inspired to create a card with a sunset that looks like it’s on fire! I tore strips of red, orange, and yellow card stock and attached them to a white card base. I die cut the sky line with a Memory Box die and used Glitter Silk for the buildings windows. The windows look like they are really lit up because of all of the sparkle from the Glitter Silk card stock! I used the speech bubble die from Simon Says Stamp and stamped the Paper Smooches sentiment on it.
-Memory Box Cityscape Nightline
-Simon Says Stamp Talk Bubbles 2 die
-Paper Smooches Word Salad stamp set
