‘Tis the Season for Weddings!

Not sure about you but wedding season is in full swing for us in the summer and today Designer Gail Linder has some gorgeous engagement cards for you today.  Gail mixes and matches our cardstock brilliantly! Glitter Silk and Chocolate Box?  Fabulous!

Here is a little bit about these gorgeous cards from Gail:

I’ve had a couple of family members announce engagements recently so I created a couple of cards to celebrate the good news! I started by choosing a gorgeous card from the Chocolate Box collection and cutting a couple of designs out from my Cameo. In the end I settled on the fun sunburst and polaroid and went from there!
For the blue card, I chose the background from the Gemstone collection as the gave it an elegant feel. I’ve embossed the background and adhered my sanded polaroid over the top with pop dots, adding some patterned paper and a red Gemstone card underneath the cut out pieces.
Similarly, behind the sanded sunburst (be careful sanding the fine frame) I used a pink Glittersilk card to add a bit of elegance. The leaves were die cut from Gemstone cardstock also and the project was completed with the fun pink flower!
I added the same greeting to both cards, stamped on a Core Bookmark which I then trimmed with the banner ends. The white bookmark card was so wonderful to stamp on!
So there you have two card designs, made into elegant engagement cards by using specialty cardstock but imagine the same designs in different colors for any occasion!

St Patty’s Day layout featuring Tim Holtz Shattered Cardstock

So how about a St. Patricks’ Day layout featuring Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered Cardstock.

This entire layout is  Shattered cardstock except for: the Core Tags (journaling) Glitter Silk (Shamrocks, title) Core Couture (pennants).  Loving that scoring detail around the edges?  Break out your Scor-Pal. It’s easy and looks GREAT!  Remember to Scor from the back and sand the front for that great detail.

Shaunte used gold ink and rubbed it into the lighter shade of the Shattered cardstock. This detail shot shows the gold color it turned the cardstock, and seeped down into the cracks. I sprayed it with glitter spray too. Never too much bling, right?!!? And love how Shaunte makes these flags with the Queen & Co. washi!!!!

LOVE IT! Hope this inspires you to scrap those St Patty’s day layouts!

Are you? Don’t forget you have until Sunday night to get the challenges done! That is a ton of time!

Challenges are listed here and Rules are posted here.

Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira created this gorgeous card for Debbie Standard’s ribbon challenge.  Here is how she did it:

Begin by sanding the edges of a dark green card base from Core’dinations, then add a layer of black Pearls cardstock (from our Cardmaker series) and a slightly smaller piece of red embossed Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions. Add black photo corners for a bit more detail. Trim a piece of green May Arts ribbon and adhere to the card with a snowflake cut from a piece of May Arts trim, embellish with a rhinestone from Queen & Co. Die cut a bracket shape onto a piece of Black Magic, and punch a scalloped circle form a gold piece of Glitter Silk, mounting with foam squares to the center of the card. Finish by stamping a Cats Life Press “christmas time” image onto a piece of Snowflake Core Essentials and punching into a circle shape.

With only a few days left to Halloween we thought we would share some very treats for you!

And when we say treats, we of course mean festive Halloween tags :) Don’t forget to check out yesterday’s post for more of these fun and festive Halloween inspired tags. One for each day of the month of October.

Glitter Silk, Black Magic, Core Tags…you name it Designer Leica Forrest used it for her Halloween Daily Fun box of tags. I don’t know about you but this is my favorite time of year!

So for the next few days we will be showing you bits and pieces of these fun tags Leica created.

See the purple Glitter Silk tag on the left?! Don’t be afraid to use those rubons on your Glitter Silk (the green swirls under the pumpkings). They go on smooth and don’t rub off.

And how about that Fiskars paper crimper?  Oh yes!

We looove to crimp here and it looks great on tags, too!

Countdown to Halloween!

Look at all that Glitter Silk! And Leica tore the top of the tag with the Black Magic to reveal the green core and embossed with the spiderweb. LOVE that idea of tearing the top of the tag versus the bottom.

We will be back with more of these tags tomorrow!
