Who is ready for Spring? We are!

Ava  here today to share some Spring cards with you today. Let’s start with a Clean and Simple card.  With our pre-embossed cardstock, cards come together very quickly!
The Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions is a great pack of paper to create cards with.  Find the pre-printed sentiment on the cardstock sheet, size it to the greeting card size and you can make a quick card without touching any ink.
Sand lightly with your Sand it Gadget and clean your sentiment using the Dust Buddy.
Punch out an embellishment using your Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Silhouette and Embossing punch, SE-E02 Heart Butterfly and add a bit of ribbon. I punched my butterfly from the Spotted Collection, Jillian Vavavoom color.

Core’dinations Cardstock supplies:  Tim Holtz and Ranger Adirondack Collection, Stonewashed  Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions, Spring/Easter , Spotted Jillian Collection, Vavavoom; Sand it Gadget ,  Dust Buddy,

May Arts Ribbon, Helmar Adhesive.

Ava  again here to share with you another  Spring card.  Spring brings thoughts of new buds and greenery and that is the sign we all look for to indicate the beginning of a wonderful time of year.  My CAS card has been embossed using the Couture Creations embossing folderfrom the Fresh & Fun collection, Magical and Sizzix Flourish folder.

Gather some supplies and this CAS card will come together quickly.

I used Core Essentials Pastels Collection pack for this card.  Embossed and lightly sanded with my Sand it Gadget. Gently dust off my sanded cardstock with my Dust Buddy and you will reveal the light tones of the inner core.
Stamp your sentiment and image onto a die cut label, adhere with some Helmar’s Zap Dots onto the card to give some dimension to your card.  Embellish with some rhinestones and ribbon and your CAS card is ready to go.

Next a Fall themed topiary from Designer Shaunte Wadley! The large flower is just a scalloped shape piece of cardstock (you can use a die for this or a cutting machine) and then scored and folded.  For a similar project that I did for Christmas check out Debbie’s Dares blog for more!

kraft core SHAUNTE final

These are pretty easy to make. Just take 4 circles and cut off the bottoms to make a straight line (this is how they will stand up on their own). Scor down the middle and fold. Then adhere them back to back around a stick (I use kabob skewers that I cut down) to make the little pumpkings. Ink the edges so they really pop.

First up we have Mary Pat Siehl with a layout using the Seasons Autumn layout. She really embraces the Autumn color palette with the rusts and reds and I love that touch of navy blue!

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I think is is the beautiful rich colors that are all around!  Core and Authentique are such a great pairing becuse of the beautful textures and colors that both companies have.  For today I made a fall layout with the new collection from Authentique and I paired it up with some Core Amour and Core Impressions Jillibean Soup.  The colors really mixed well and the texture it provided just made the layout!

Next up we have Designer Kim Moreno with a  ffew gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous layouts!

Kim Not So Ordinary

To create the hearts in the background of my layout I placed a chipboard heart behind my cardstock and slightly sanded over the top making sure to get the edges well so the heart would show clearly (the outlining technique).
I the layered the pre-embossed Spotted purple cardstock and the cuttlebug embossed grey paper to create my layout. I added white spotted cardstock and instead of inking the raised dots I simply rubbed them along the black cardstock and it picked up the “leftover” dust and colored the white spotted cardstock nicely.
I then added my stickers and embellishments to complete my layout!

Using my scorpal I embossed the lines around the edge of my layout to frame the whole layout I then sanded the lines and the edge of my paper rather roughly tearing some of the edges to reveal the color core of the cardstock. I backed my photo in patterened paper and vintage cardstock tearing along the bottom to reveal the core. I also traced on the back of the vintage yellow cardstock and tore the pieces of the sunshine out and sanded the edges slightly to create the sunshine piece.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Core’dinations (Autumn & Lemonade- Vintage Collection), (Nassau Blue, Snowflake, & Sutter Butter- Core Essentials collection)
Patterned paper/ sticker/ die cuts: Imaginisce
Adhesive: Zapdots by Helmar

We’re BACK!

July 8, 2013 by
Filed under Core Blog, Helmar Adhesives, Scor Pal

Wahoo! Our site is up and we are ready to rock-n-roll! But we did lose a few blog posts from earlier this week so today is one of those posts. Unfortunately they were some Fourth of July posts so it may seem a little  late so sorry about that!

BUT the good thing is that you can make these stars ANY time of the year! They look SO good on layouts, too.  Keep on reading for some great step-by-step directions from Designer Kate Nolan-Denham!

KatieCoreJuneCard

1)Create a card base, A2 size, made out of Red Rose Core’dinations Cardstock.

2)Cut a piece of White Glove CoreCouture Glitter Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″. Glue to card base.

3)Deboss a piece of Navy Cardstock from the 4.25 x 5.5″ Darks collection and layer it on top of the white mat. I used Craft Concepts Solid Stars embossing folder for this card. The debossing is a GREAT contrast to the raised stars, don’t you think?

4)Die cut 3 larger stars in different sizes and 2 small stars out of the Red Rose cardstock leftover from making the base of the card.  I used Sizzix Star Framelits.

5)Score each large star at each point.

KateCoreJune3a

6)Scor the stars along the scored lines and sand them with the Sandit Gadget to give them a 3-D effect.

KatieCoreJuneCard2

7)Die cut a label shape out of the White Glove CoreCouture Glitter Cardstock, trim the bottom of it so it will be flush with the White Glove mat already on the card.

8)Stamp the sentiment on the label you die cut in #7. I used Spellbinders Label.

9)Add the stars and sentiment label to the card using 3-D foam. I used Helmar Zapdots.

10)Give to someone.  This card is bound to brighten anyone’s day!

Today we have Five Easy Cards from Design Team Member Char Dobson! Don’t have a lot of time? With Christmas just around the corner, things seem to just get busier and busier.  Keep reading to see how you can make a few cards in no time at all. Here are the supplies she used:

Core Cards, Core Cut & Emboss Series 4.25″x5.5″ (various)

Helmar: 3D Zapdots, Quickfix Adhesive Runner

Preferred partners: Helmar, May Arts ribbon, Queen&Co. rhinestones

Other supplies: Cricut Teresa Collins December 25 cartridge, Tim Holtz Christmas muse tokens, Embossing folders (various)
Here is a little bit about this project from Char:
Today we’re going to make five easy cards in about an hour. Using the Core’dinations Cut & Emboss series, Core cards, a few minor embellishments and Helmar adhesives you can throw together some adorable die-cut cards in a snap.
The thing I love about the Cut&Emboss series is that not only are these sizes perfect for card bases and embossing, but they are great to use with your Cricut or other die-cut machine. I don’t know about you, but I hate it when I have only a smaller design to cut into a precious piece of 12″x12″ piece cardstock. With Cut&Emboss I can put all the colours I want on one mat.
Already, you can see how quick these cards are going to come together. All I have to do is emboss, adhere and add embellishments.
And we’re done! How quick was that!? How about some close-ups:

And our Jenni Bowlin  MINI Calendar Cards look so awesome on cards!
