Today we have a gorgeous, detail packed layout from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira. Here is a little bit about it from Melissa herself:
I had a left over piece of pleated fabric from a recent sewing project that I wanted to use for a layout. The frayed fibers were trimmed from the fabric and Helmar Fray Stoppa was applied to the raw edges. After five minutes, the fabric was completely dry and ready to adhere to the layout. I used Scrap Dots Liquid adhesive to squeeze several gooey dabs of adhesive along the back side of the pleated fabric and adhered it to the corner of the layout. This adhesive is my new best friend! I love using fabric and fibers on my paper crafting projects, and Scrap Dots is strong and thick enough to stay where it is put and dries clear and quick. I also used Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere the title banner pieces to the fabric. The glue is gooey and flexible when applied, so I had plenty of “wiggle room” to straighten the banner pieces that landed on the layout a little askew.

1/4″ Helmar Zap Dots were used to pop up the butterfly embellishments as well as the photo.
Large Butterfly Die Cut is Lifestyle Crafts punched from Bella Blvd patterned paper.
Embossed dots on butterflies above photo are made using a Darice embossing folder
Core’dinations papers used are Core Essentials and BasicGrey Core Impressions (pink)

Working it on Wednesday with Helmar

Today we have Five Easy Cards from Design Team Member Char Dobson! Don’t have a lot of time? With Christmas just around the corner, things seem to just get busier and busier.  Keep reading to see how you can make a few cards in no time at all. Here are the supplies she used:

Core Cards, Core Cut & Emboss Series 4.25″x5.5″ (various)

Helmar: 3D Zapdots, Quickfix Adhesive Runner

Preferred partners: Helmar, May Arts ribbon, Queen&Co. rhinestones

Other supplies: Cricut Teresa Collins December 25 cartridge, Tim Holtz Christmas muse tokens, Embossing folders (various)
Here is a little bit about this project from Char:
Today we’re going to make five easy cards in about an hour. Using the Core’dinations Cut & Emboss series, Core cards, a few minor embellishments and Helmar adhesives you can throw together some adorable die-cut cards in a snap.
The thing I love about the Cut&Emboss series is that not only are these sizes perfect for card bases and embossing, but they are great to use with your Cricut or other die-cut machine. I don’t know about you, but I hate it when I have only a smaller design to cut into a precious piece of 12″x12″ piece cardstock. With Cut&Emboss I can put all the colours I want on one mat.
Already, you can see how quick these cards are going to come together. All I have to do is emboss, adhere and add embellishments.
And we’re done! How quick was that!? How about some close-ups:

And our Jenni Bowlin  MINI Calendar Cards look so awesome on cards!

Helmar Day Two…It’s Magical Don’t You Think?

Like Black Magical?! Yep, that’s  a real phrase ’round here at Core’dinations.

We are here with Helmar this week and couldn’t be more excited! We have gorgeous projects all week long for you.

Today we have Designer Shaunte Wadley creating for us using one of our favorites, Black Magic Cardstock. Get out that Sand it Set because sanding Black Magic is F-U-N!

Here is a little bit about  this layout from Shaunte: ” I used Black Magic for everything but the journaling and the Flowers. Those are Whitewash (journaling) and Core Essentials (flowers.) I think it is pretty cool how well the colors matched between collections.
The title letters were a fun technique!  I distressed them–the letters were too narrow for pop-dots–I would have had to cut them down a lot,  so the Liquid Scrap Dots worked great! The end result looks like crumpled chipboard because of the dimension the Scrap Dots gave the letters.
I used the 450 Quick Dry adhesive as a base for glitter to stick to, to give a sort-of custom brad look to my side border on the photo.

Brilliant! Enjoy!

Welcome!

To day ONE of Helmar and Core’dinations Teaming up for some fabulous inspiration.  Make sure you leave us a comment today and every day for more chances to win some of our unique cardstock.

The first of today’s projects comes from Cari Locken. This Happy New Year card is too perfect to start this week off, don’t you think? Cari used Core Essentials and Vintage Cardstock  on this card. She turned the textured side over to the backside of the cardstock for some smooth stamping with her myStampBOX Stamps.  And, OF COURSE, Helmar Zap dots!

Here is a close up of the Zap Dots:

This next project is from Hera Frei. Hera made festive Chinese New year envelopes.  Hera shares some background on this project with us today, “An ancient custom which has an important role in Chinese New Year is Hong Bao. This involves gifting small red envelopes filled with “lucky money”. These envelopes are given to children and unmarried adults by the married couples. The red color is considered to bring good fortune, and the money inside the envelope is used by them to buy holiday treats”.

These envelopes looks so amazing in the Couture cardstock, don’t they? And Hera embossed them, too! Love the look of the glittery cardstock embossed.

Hera made the basic envelope using a template and red Core Couture Cardstock and sealed it with Quick Dry Adhesive. Then punched some stars using a Fiskars punch and then used Zap Dots to layer them.  She also used the Zap Dots to seal the gemstone  to the top star and then finished them off with a SRM Sticker.

Do us a favor and make sure you head over to Helmar’s Facebook Page and tell them thanks for a fabulous day!

Happy New Year!
