Ava here today to share some Spring cards with you today. Let’s start with a Clean and Simple card. With our pre-embossed cardstock, cards come together very quickly!
The Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions is a great pack of paper to create cards with. Find the pre-printed sentiment on the cardstock sheet, size it to the greeting card size and you can make a quick card without touching any ink.
Sand lightly with your Sand it Gadget and clean your sentiment using the Dust Buddy.
Punch out an embellishment using your Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Silhouette and Embossing punch, SE-E02 Heart Butterfly and add a bit of ribbon. I punched my butterfly from the Spotted Collection, Jillian Vavavoom color.
Ava again here to share with you another Spring card. Spring brings thoughts of new buds and greenery and that is the sign we all look for to indicate the beginning of a wonderful time of year. My CAS card has been embossed using the Couture Creations embossing folderfrom the Fresh & Fun collection, Magical and Sizzix Flourish folder.
Gather some supplies and this CAS card will come together quickly.
I used Core Essentials Pastels Collection pack for this card. Embossed and lightly sanded with my Sand it Gadget. Gently dust off my sanded cardstock with my Dust Buddy and you will reveal the light tones of the inner core.
Stamp your sentiment and image onto a die cut label, adhere with some Helmar’s Zap Dots onto the card to give some dimension to your card. Embellish with some rhinestones and ribbon and your CAS card is ready to go.

Today we have cards for you that are all about Good Luck and GREEN! If you go to our individual Core Essentials part of the website here, you will see that we have them all listed by color family for you. So when you are creating, it’s easy to find colors that match and fall into the same color family. AND a great way for really who off those colors is to add texture like Ava did today using all kinds of greens and textures for this festive Good Luck card.
Find some complementary colors that will blend well and try out different embossing folders for an interesting textural feel to the card. A gentle sanding with your Sand it Gadget and a clean wipe with your Dust Buddy will result in some great looking faux washi tape.
Add some embellishments and you have a CAS card ready in your stash for any congratulatory event.
Ah, St. Patrick’s Day. It’s the one day a year where I can celebrate a holiday that doesn’t feel like a huge marketing scheme has overtaken the true meaning of the day. We get to don our green shirts, eat either green foods (prepared by Mum) or corned beef and cabbage (prepared by Dad) and put a lot of stock in Luck. And that’s where my craft comes in!
Today I have a card that I made for this special day in March and I’m here to share it with you! It was dead easy using a cut file from the Silhouette store. It originally had a heart as the center shape but I removed that and inserted my own four leafed clover. I used the back side of the Black Magic and flipped it for the heart on the left and cut a kelly green clover for the right hand side! Pop the Black Magic bracket frame and viola!
Have fun this green day and don’t forget to pinch someone for me!!!!
Loving how the gree “pops” through the Black Magic!
Core Essentials – Crab Grass
Core Essentials, Brights
Letter Stickers: Studio Calico
Twine: The Twinery
Cut File (amended to clover by me): Silhouette Store Design #50081
Foam Adhesive: Imaginisce
Ava here to share with you a cute little Christmas Decor item that you can make using the Core’dinations Cardstock Neutral collection. Snip a few pieces of greenery from outdoors and you have a great table center piece or home decor item.
Search the internet images for pattern’s or check out Coats and Clark for this great reindeer pattern.
Emboss, sand and cut out two pieces of each pattern for each of the reindeer. You need a front and back which is glued together.
And a close up:
See how nice the inner core of the Core’dinations Cardstock matches so well with the paper pieced antler color of the Core’dinations Neutral collection?
Have some fun creating your own home decor items from the Core’dinations Cardstock Neutral Collection. Decor items can be so vogue with sanded matching color tones.
AND Ava has a bonus project for us today, too! Some Ornaments!
If you need a quick table centre piece this is something you can make with supplies on hand. Three different sized Christmas ornaments.
Emboss a strip of paper approximately 2.5 “, tape some christmas washi tape to the backside sand the front to reveal the core and trim your paper strips to the width and size of your choice. Add a rolled stem and some ribbon and you are good to go.
Get that “Pin It” button ready! We have some AH-mazing Thanksgiving/Fall inspired table decor for you today featuring our Tim Holtz Shattered cardstock.
First up Designer Ava Gavloski created this amazing tablescape. How cool will this look on your Thanksgiving Day Table?
Autumn is a bouquet of colors which truly is magical to watch as you stroll down the country side roads and city parks. The fresh cool air of autumn brings memories to warm everyone’s heart. Designing with the Core’dinations Tim Holtz Shattered collection during this sunny day of Autumn has set the ambiance for a thankful Thanksgiving.
Below you will see all the leaves that I distressed.
a) This line you see the green leaves cut out straight up from the paper. B) this side presents the harvest orange, crumbled and sanded leaves green leaves were made by first crumbling the cardstock, sanding and then die cutting the leaves out. C) this line of leaves shows the differences from inked and die cut to crumbled and sanded before die cutting the leaves. D) this sample is taking the cherry bright cardstock , crumbled, sanded before die cutting.
And some close ups:
Look at all that gorgeous Shattered cardstock!
And one more of the distressed, crumpled leaves:
Tim Holtz Shattered Collection Kraft Core, Sand It Set, Helmar, 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Ranger Distress Ink, Ripe Persimmon , Procraft cuttlebug, Leaves die 37-1214, Thrift store: candle, tray and candle holder
Next a Fall themed topiary from Designer Shaunte Wadley! The large flower is just a scalloped shape piece of cardstock (you can use a die for this or a cutting machine) and then scored and folded. For a similar project that I did for Christmas check out Debbie’s Dares blog for more!
These are pretty easy to make. Just take 4 circles and cut off the bottoms to make a straight line (this is how they will stand up on their own). Scor down the middle and fold. Then adhere them back to back around a stick (I use kabob skewers that I cut down) to make the little pumpkings. Ink the edges so they really pop.
How fun is it to take a different perspective on things? I love how Designer Ava Gavloski does it…see that hand-stamped image that Ava cut out? It’s a witch! How cool is that? Ava just layers and layers and layers…it’s amazing!!!
And since we are living in color today…we have some gorgeous creations from designer Kate Nolan Denham, too!
Bright & colorful is always a fun way to go when making birthday cards. The card I am sharing today shows how easy it is to make a bright birthday card with several different Core’dinations Cardstock lines, not just the Brights Collection (which is pretty cool in itself).
To create my card, I started by embossing a Brights Core Tag. These tags are textured and sandable! I then took a piece of the Whitewash Collection die the word “LIVE” out with my Cricut. After sanding this focal point down so the Core color shined through, I added the rest of my sentiment with stickers and brads. The tag and sentiment were then added to a sanded background from the Vintage Collection and then the card base, which is in the Brights Collection.
Next time you are making a bright card, don’t be afraid to pull out all kinds of Core’dinations Cardstock. You are sure to find the perfect colors!
I love colors that are bold! Today I have a layout in which the colors in the tags dictated what fantastic bold colors of Core’dinations Cardstock I used. Throw in a bit of dotted texture and it was the perfect blend of bold and beautiful! The bit of Black Magic and Neutral Core’dinations I used for this layout was just to balance the bold colors I used.
And don’t forget! We are cropping FRIDAY! Check out the RULES HERE!
We are so excited for this week and trust me when I say our papers are a match made in heaven! But seeing is believing, right? So make sure you stick around all week long for some inpsiration and a giveaway of course!

First up we have Mary Pat Siehl with a layout using the Seasons Autumn layout. She really embraces the Autumn color palette with the rusts and reds and I love that touch of navy blue!
Fall is my favorite time of the year. I think is is the beautiful rich colors that are all around! Core and Authentique are such a great pairing becuse of the beautful textures and colors that both companies have. For today I made a fall layout with the new collection from Authentique and I paired it up with some Core Amour and Core Impressions Jillibean Soup. The colors really mixed well and the texture it provided just made the layout!
