First up we have Mary Pat Siehl with a layout using the Seasons Autumn layout. She really embraces the Autumn color palette with the rusts and reds and I love that touch of navy blue!

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I think is is the beautiful rich colors that are all around!  Core and Authentique are such a great pairing becuse of the beautful textures and colors that both companies have.  For today I made a fall layout with the new collection from Authentique and I paired it up with some Core Amour and Core Impressions Jillibean Soup.  The colors really mixed well and the texture it provided just made the layout!

And another layout from Kate Nolan Denham! These snowflakes are the perfect accent for the Believe collection and I just LOVE  how Kate plays with the angle on this layout!

Kate here, bringing you some snow a little bit early this year!  It was so easy to share our Christmas snow with you by using lots of Core’dinations Cardstock paired with Heidi Swapp’s Believe Collection.

The snowflakes were cut out of Snowflake Core’dinatins Cardstock (perfectly named) using my Cameo.  I painted them with some Gemstone Glue and sprinkled Shaved Ice onto the snowflakes. Core’dinations Cardstock is so sturdy that is the the perfect base for this technique!

One more layout from Jennifer Edwardson!

When I opened my box of goodies for this product trade with Heidi Swapp I got sooooo excited !!  I absolutely LOVE this holiday paper and went straight to my ‘Seasonal Core Impressions’ for the base for this layout.  I lightly sanded my Core cardstock to allow the kraft core show through – makes the words completely stand out !!

I mixed my fave patterns from the Heidi Swapp ‘Believe’ collection with a piece of scarlet ’tillie dot’ cardstock for a base to my photo.  I also wanted to have a little layer underneath a few of the cut outs so I ran a piece of ‘peeled paint’ cardstock through my Big Shot using the ‘wire fence’ embossing folder by Darice.  LOVE this folder ……

I used a light pattern for my journaling and put it in my typewriter – this is my fave way to add journaling to my layouts. and done !

Next up we have Designer Kim Moreno with a  ffew gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous layouts!

Kim Not So Ordinary

To create the hearts in the background of my layout I placed a chipboard heart behind my cardstock and slightly sanded over the top making sure to get the edges well so the heart would show clearly (the outlining technique).
I the layered the pre-embossed Spotted purple cardstock and the cuttlebug embossed grey paper to create my layout. I added white spotted cardstock and instead of inking the raised dots I simply rubbed them along the black cardstock and it picked up the “leftover” dust and colored the white spotted cardstock nicely.
I then added my stickers and embellishments to complete my layout!

And a close up:

Using my scorpal I embossed the lines around the edge of my layout to frame the whole layout I then sanded the lines and the edge of my paper rather roughly tearing some of the edges to reveal the color core of the cardstock. I backed my photo in patterened paper and vintage cardstock tearing along the bottom to reveal the core. I also traced on the back of the vintage yellow cardstock and tore the pieces of the sunshine out and sanded the edges slightly to create the sunshine piece.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Core’dinations (Autumn & Lemonade- Vintage Collection), (Nassau Blue, Snowflake, & Sutter Butter- Core Essentials collection)
Patterned paper/ sticker/ die cuts: Imaginisce
Adhesive: Zapdots by Helmar
Tool: ScorPal

We’re BACK!

Wahoo! Our site is up and we are ready to rock-n-roll! But we did lose a few blog posts from earlier this week so today is one of those posts. Unfortunately they were some Fourth of July posts so it may seem a little  late so sorry about that!

BUT the good thing is that you can make these stars ANY time of the year! They look SO good on layouts, too.  Keep on reading for some great step-by-step directions from Designer Kate Nolan-Denham!

KatieCoreJuneCard

1)Create a card base, A2 size, made out of Red Rose Core’dinations Cardstock.

2)Cut a piece of White Glove CoreCouture Glitter Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″. Glue to card base.

3)Deboss a piece of Navy Cardstock from the 4.25 x 5.5″ Darks collection and layer it on top of the white mat. I used Craft Concepts Solid Stars embossing folder for this card. The debossing is a GREAT contrast to the raised stars, don’t you think?

4)Die cut 3 larger stars in different sizes and 2 small stars out of the Red Rose cardstock leftover from making the base of the card.  I used Sizzix Star Framelits.

5)Score each large star at each point.

KateCoreJune3a

6)Scor the stars along the scored lines and sand them with the Sandit Gadget to give them a 3-D effect.

KatieCoreJuneCard2

7)Die cut a label shape out of the White Glove CoreCouture Glitter Cardstock, trim the bottom of it so it will be flush with the White Glove mat already on the card.

8)Stamp the sentiment on the label you die cut in #7. I used Spellbinders Label.

9)Add the stars and sentiment label to the card using 3-D foam. I used Helmar Zapdots.

10)Give to someone.  This card is bound to brighten anyone’s day!

Today we have a gorgeous, detail packed layout from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira. Here is a little bit about it from Melissa herself:
I had a left over piece of pleated fabric from a recent sewing project that I wanted to use for a layout. The frayed fibers were trimmed from the fabric and Helmar Fray Stoppa was applied to the raw edges. After five minutes, the fabric was completely dry and ready to adhere to the layout. I used Scrap Dots Liquid adhesive to squeeze several gooey dabs of adhesive along the back side of the pleated fabric and adhered it to the corner of the layout. This adhesive is my new best friend! I love using fabric and fibers on my paper crafting projects, and Scrap Dots is strong and thick enough to stay where it is put and dries clear and quick. I also used Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere the title banner pieces to the fabric. The glue is gooey and flexible when applied, so I had plenty of “wiggle room” to straighten the banner pieces that landed on the layout a little askew.

1/4″ Helmar Zap Dots were used to pop up the butterfly embellishments as well as the photo.
Large Butterfly Die Cut is Lifestyle Crafts punched from Bella Blvd patterned paper.
Embossed dots on butterflies above photo are made using a Darice embossing folder
Core’dinations papers used are Core Essentials and BasicGrey Core Impressions (pink)
