Here on the Core blog this week!

We have  a special treat from Core Teacher Vicki Boutin for you today!

What a way to to show off all the amazing colors and textures of Core’dinations cardstock. Our color families core’dinate in each line so you can mix and match them easily.

Here is a little bit about this layout from Vicki:

“We love St Patrick’s Day around here.  Not for the traditional reasons as much as the fact that it is my son Riley’s birthday!!!  We wear the green, get the Shamrock shakes from McDonalds and enjoy celebrating a “green” birthday.  So when I received a box of new Core’dinations I knew I wanted to put something together for a St Paddy’s Day layout.
I cut out a large shamrock shape for a base.  I then proceeded to punch a bunch of circles from Core Couture , Gemstones, Vintage, Spotted Jillian and Tillie and Core Essentials.  I layered the circles from the bottom of the shamrock up.
(insert close up)
Love how this turned out!!!  I used the back of Tim Holtz Kraft Core and a sheet of Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions for the base.
Hope you get into the St Patrick’s Day fun and make something special to commemorate the day!”

Just a reminder …Don’t forget about our Core Colour Challenge!

Only nine days left to get those entries in and a Core pack of cardstock is up for grabs!!! More details here.

Today we have some fun layouts from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira.

Melissa works the 8.5×11″! check out the tone on tone embossed hears!!!! LOVE!!!

Here is a little bit about this layout from Melissa, “the embossed hearts were cut from the left over strip from trimming the background to a 8 1/2 x 11 size. I just embossed, sanded, and popped them up with foam tape for a little added dimension. I sanded then inked the Jenni Bowlin butterfly Core Impressions that is behind the title work. I really like the way the sanded areas take to the ranger distress inks.”

And speaking of love…..

How sweet is this?  That chevron Pink Paislee Core Impressions is too perfect! SO many great details, don’t you think? Melissa used her BasicGrey embossing folders for the hearts.

Remember those invitations?

We have all made invitations for parties before. But the question is…what do you do with them once the party is over?

A few months ago we shared this super cute invitation from Design Team Member Lydia Jackson for her son’s birthday party.

Well…here is the layout that Lydia created using one of those  invites! What a great way to preserve that special memory and invitation that she created  for her little man, don’t you think?  She used primary colors  just like the spaceship and accented them throughout the page with the Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions and the Tillie Spotted cardstock and some Core Essentials of course!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So….ready for some inspiration and give-a-ways???? We have TWO for you again today!
Today is all about our Core Impressions Jenni Bowlin Everyday Collection AND Black Magic.
These two lines are so perfect for any paper crafter.  Having some Core Impressions and Black Magic is an essential in your stash.
Let’s start with Design Team Member Char Dobson’s layout. This piece of Whitewash in the classic Country Store design is one of my faves, too! Love how Char sanded it and then inked it. Remember! Use your Dust Buddy after sanding, it will clean up the dust and keep your ink pad clean.
Char also added bits and pieces of the other cardstock in this collection, too. We all {heart} buttons, don’t we??? And that cute little August subtitle above the banner is from the mini pads of the JBS collection.
Next up is some Black Magic. There is something magical about this cardstock, for sure!  You gotta love the outlining technique that Char uses on this cardstock. We have a great video here for more tips!
Welcome to the May Arts and Petaloo Week
We are so excited to be sharing this week of May Arts, Petaloo AND Core’dinations with you!
THREE awesome  companies have come together to inspire you. And our teams have been working hard to create some festive projects for you, too. It’s all about the Holidays. From Halloween to Thanksgiving and even Christmas…you will see festive projects to get those creative juices flowing and hopefully give you some ideas for this time of year.
And of course…there are give-a-ways!!! All three companies will giving away tons and tons of goodies this week so make sure you head over to the Petaloo Blog and May Arts Blog for details and inspirational projects. Don’t forget about Facebook! Join us on our Facebook page here,  the May Arts and Petaloo pages, too, for additional chances to win. Make sure you tell them we sent you!
Did you know that Core’dinations and Petaloo have a color matching program?  We sure do!  We did all the hard work so that you can easily match your favorite Core Colors with favorite Petaloo flowers.   How easy is that???
So are you ready for some projects???
Don’t forget to leave a comment every day this week for a chance to win a Core’dinations prize pack!!!
Today we have some Thanksgiving and Fall Inspired  projects from Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira.
Melissa used her Fiskars Paper Crimper for this tag…
Let’s talk about these flowers and leaves. First off the cluster is awesome. Add some cool vintage buttons from your stash and you have a gorgeous embellishment.  And did you notice the leaves are May Arts ribbon?  Melissa cut them into leaf shapes and then held them near a flame (PLEASE be careful if you try this at home) to melt the edges so they won’t fray. And it just gives is a really cool, rustic look. Add some ink to your Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions after you sand it to help accent the different colors in your layout.
