Please make sure you head over to the Lawn Fawn blog for more inspiration AND their Facebook page.  Their Design Team is incredible and you don’t want to miss anything.

First up we have Designer Tracy Gruber with a super cute card:

I love my Lawn Fawn stamps, so I was very excited to pair them with Core!  I started with the Whitewash paper and embossed it with the Swirls embossing folder.  I sanded the de-embossed side, so more of the blue color showed.  I then stamped the tree from the Critters in the Forest set twice and kept one piece whole and the other one I cut each other the “sections” apart.  I then attached each of the pieces to the whole tree and popped up the bottom with Tombow Foam Tabs to give it dimension.  I used the green Core Vintage paper and tore it to create the grass for my scene.

And one last card today from Designer Kim Moreno!
I embossed the base of my card and sanded the dots slightly to reveal the color core of the cardstock, round the bottom edges of the card. I then used the long leafy stamp from the Lawn Fawn blissful botanicals set and stamped several rows in different colors and then punched them into circles and then punched again smaller circles within the larger circles. I then adhered them all to the yellow cardstock and adhered it to the center of the card. I stamped “thanks” several times on a white strip of cardstock and adhered below to finish my card.
Thanks kim m

Please make sure you head over to their blog for more inspiration AND their Facebook page.  Their Design Team is incredible and you don’t want to miss anything.

Can you say…paper airplanes?  EEEEEK! This Flying By stamp set IS JUST TOOOOOO CUTE!  Emboss your Whitewash cardtock with a Darice cloud embossing folder and punch some peep holes with a circle punch in your layout…it really allows those planes to pop off the page and really look like they are flying.  Don’t forget to use the Flying By die cuts…makes life so easy! Shaunte always adds the sweetest details like stamping on the  Core Couture for the sentiment and the heart in the twine.  Just because it has a different finish doesn’t mean you can’ stamp on it. ;)

And don’t be afraid to get out those stamps and use them on your Layouts.  Shaunte

Shaunte mixed and matched a bunch of Core on here with her Lawn Fawn Bon Voyage stamps. She sanded the Tim Holtz Kraft Core No.  3, My Mind’s Eye Core Impressions on top of that and then embellished her way to a fabulous layout!

LAWNFAWNlayoutSHAUNTE

Shaunte stamped directly on her Vintage cardstock (airplane) and Whitewash Cardstock (cloud). This is a great idea in case you don’t have copics or markers to color your own stamped images.

Summer Layouts and more with Tracy Gruber

Happy Wednesday! We hope you are enjoying your summer so far and today we want to start out with a super summery layout from Design Team Member Tracy Gruber.  I always struggle with white as a base for my layouts but Tracy makes it looks so easy! Plus…all  that embossing just makes me happy. :)

Nothing says summer like the Core’dinations Brights Card Stock paper pad!  The colors in this collection match the colors of the sunset almost perfectly.  I used a couple of different techniques on this layout including tearing, embossing, and sanding.  I also used Distress Inks and a water brush to make the water-colored looking circles.

Turtley Awesome
I love to combine Core’dinations cardstock with stamps, especially when I am creating a “scene” on my card.  The tan card stock is perfect for sand, because when you tear it, it looks just like a beach!  I also used a piece of light blue card stock, which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and then sanded with the Sand It Gadget.  It makes a perfect sky!

One of my favorite types of Core’dinations paper is the Core Couture Glitter.  Why? Because I love glitter and this card stock has plenty of it!  I used the black Core Couture Glitter card stock as the background, along with a Core Tag to stamp the sentiment on.  I used a Cuttlebug die to cut out the 3-D flowers from the Core’dinations Pastels, Brights, and Darks paper pads.  I then sanded the edges of them to add some texture.

Designing 8.5×11″ layouts with Suzanna Lee

Who loves 8.5×11″ layouts?  I DO I DO!  First up we have THE COOLEST layout from Designer Suzanna Lee!  I know I am going to try this for sure. She has a GREAT Tip for you today for our Tuesday Tip of the week.
Using embossed Core for a background is one of my favorite things to do with Core. It adds so much texture and visual interest to a layout. As I don’t have a larger die cut machine to run my folders through, I cut the paper then  run each half of the paper through my Big Shot. You can barely tell that it’s a sheet of paper cut into two pieces! The tone on tone chevrons create an interesting subtle background.

Love this texture! This looks like the cardstock came this way, doesn’t it?

And another layout with a much different color palette.  EEK! I love how Suzanna created the flab/banner at the top with the Jenni Bowlin Mini Calendar piece!  Is there any other company out there that has products like this that allow you the creativity to create such cool, one of a kind embellishments???
When pondering what to use for my layouts, I typically grab my colors from the colors in the picture. This picture of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, France was taken in panoramic mode with my iPhone. It has a hints of red from the underside of the escalators that I wanted to make stand out a little bit so I chose the similar hues in both pre-embossed and “plain” cardstock. There is nothing plain about Core however!! The Kraft Core that I used to cut the title tied together the browns and reds perfectly!

Say Hello to Tracy Gruber…

Today we are introducing Tracy Gruber!

AND IT’S HER BIRTHDAY!

Hello!  My name is Tracy and I have been crafting since I was a little girl.  I started scrapbooking when I was in high school and card-making about 3 years ago.  I am currently going to college for Graphic Design and work part-time at a local scrapbooking store.  I have been published a couple of times and also have an Etsy shop where I sell handmade banners and cards.  Paper-crafting is such an awesome hobby because I am able to preserve memories while expressing my creativity!  When I’m not crafting, I enjoy spending time with my family, rollerblading playing tennis, and shopping.  I am so excited to be a part of the Core’dinations design team and use the best card stock on the planet!

Make sure you check out Tracy’s Blog HERE for more inspiration and keep reading to learn more about her layout today.

I love using bright colors on my layouts!  I cut banners out of different colored Core’dinations cardstocks and sanded them for some added texture.  I also used dies to cut out the hearts and flowers and sanded them as well.  I thought the Core Tags would be a cool way to display all of my photos on the layout, I just had to trim the bottoms off of them a bit.

Supplies:
TIm Holtz Shattered Cardstock
White Core Tags
Core Essentials Brights
Lawn Fawn and Memory Box dies
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder
