Today we have some layouts from Mary Pat Siehl that are all about SNOW! Most of us here in the states are getting a lot of it. Regardless of what the them is that you are scrapping, you can get some great ideas from Mary Pat today. She always has well balanced layouts that really work that Core’dinations Cardstock!
Once again for my layout I started with the a Core’dinations Essentials Dark background. I scored the edges and lightly sanded them to create a border around my layout. Next, I embossed a piece of the White Wash collection using a Couture Creations embossing folder. I sanded it to expose the red core! Next, I cut my title using Core Essentials cardstock. I also used my Marvy punch to create the snowflakes. This punch ROCKS becuase it also gives it a light embossed look as well. Finally I added in some pattern paper along with a homemade Core Essentials tag.

Using the Silhouette with Core’dinations cardstock is just so darn fun because it cuts BEAUTIUFLLY! I was a bit unsure about using the the Core Couture Glitter collection with the Silhouette but it cut like BUTTA! I was so excited. For my layout I cut the snowflakes using the glitter Core. You always need a bit of sparkle on a winter layout. Right???? I then cut my title using the Core Essentials Neutrals. Once I had those items taken care of it was time to play with and form the layout. I started with the Core Essentials Darks and then layered the wonderful Jillibean Soup Core Impressions paper. Next, I took some red from the Core Essentials and ran it through my paper crimper and lightly sanded it. Finally, I added in some pattern paper and arranged my snowflake embellishments and title. So perfect!

Can you belive Christmas is over and in two days it will be 2014? We thought it would be a cool idea to show you some layouts that focus on important days we celebrated in 2013 today. Kim Moreno has some layouts focusing on her kids and some milestones they celebrated this year. ENJOY!
With the rough background in this picture I knew the woodgrain Core Impression paper would be perfect for this layout. I chose the purple and navy to coordinate with the colors from the photo and then purple is their favorite color so I had to add that in there somehow! I wanted to keep the layout fairly simple to focus on this awesome photo of the two of them!
I sanded the background woodgrain paper to bring out the lighter color core of the paper. I then chose border punches that not only cut but had an embossed image as well and sanded them slightly and layered them for a fun look. I used an embossing folder to create the dots on the cut out heart.

EEEEK! I looove this big HUGE star!
This photo of my oldest son at the Texas State 7on7 tournament just pulls at my heart, this was the all seniors photo we took at the end of the tournament. Seriously, how can I have a senior already? He would say he loves this photo because it’s during the summer and he’s allowed to have to super, awesome, manly beard! ha!
I used my trusty Scor Pal (do y’all see a theme to my layouts? they feel naked without a border to me!) to create the lines around the edge of my layout and then sanded the Black Magic to reveal the orange color core. I love this pop of color! I then traced the big star from the orange cardstock and cut and punched the green stars and sanded the edges to give them some character and reveal the color core. I tore the edge of my orange cardstock and the edge of the tag to reveal the colored core as well. Notice printing directly onto the cardstock comes out awesome as well!

Today we have Kim Moreno!
Here is a little bit about Kim:
Hi y’all! My name is Kim Moreno and I am excited to once again be joining the Core team!
I am a mom of 5 kids ranging from 17 to 11 year old twins… 3 boys and 2 girls! You will see them show up all over the pages I create. I have been married for almost 20 years to my retired Air Force husband. I am currently living in a small town in Texas and my husband works out of town so all of the daily life activities (and there are many!) are left to me… so to say my world is a little busy would probably be an understatement! I also work part time as a preschool teacher at my church during the school year and I am the director for VBS for my church as well.
I have been scrapping for around 10 years now and have had the privelage to have been published in all the major magazines and have had several covers as well. I have worked for many popular manufacturers and kit clubs over the years. I enjoy scrapbooking and recording the everyday memories of my life. I am also a big cardmaker! I currently design for the Gossamer Blue kit club and PSA Essentials stamps.
Check out my blog here: http://www.livingthecircuslife.blogspot.com
And Kim gave us a description of super cool 8.5×11″ layout…keep reading!
I trimmed the Basic Grey Ornate paper to 8.5”x11 and sand it slightly. Then I used my Scor-Pal to emboss lines around the edge of my layout, then I sanded them slightly to stand out. I backed my photo in the white cardstock and then adhered it onto more Basic Grey Ornate paper and sanded it all and then tore the edge to reveal the pink core. I tore another piece and layered it behind the first torn piece for a fun look. I then punched several different sized circles from the Ornate collection and layered them around my layout and added different colored brads and letter stickers to complete my layout!
And some details…love this idea of the circles and brads with the Core Impressions. No embossing needed!
