As we approach Halloween and Trick or Treating this week, we have to share this amazing project from the very talented Melissa {who btw had the cutest little girl a few weeks ago, Congratulations!}.
What is better this time of year that Black Magic Cardstock? It just screams Halloween.

Here are the instructions from Melissa:
The original wooden letters purchased for this project were all white so I painted the inside and outside portions of the wood with purple paint (two coats). The Black Magic paper was run through the Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the swirly design. After sanding the embossed paper, I adhered it to the letters and used an xacto knife and cutting mat to trim around the letter. I used sandpaper to sand the excess paper from the front of the letters, then added Stickles glitter glue to hilight some of the swirls.
To create the embellishments, I used several Quickutz dies to punch Halloween themed shapes. The die cuts were then sanded and pieced together using foam tape for added dimension. More glitter was added to accent the shapes after they were adhered to the letters. I added a variety of ribbons and rhinestones from my “stash” to jazz up the finished project.

This featured layout was designed by Design Team Member Melissa Oliveira. It was made with the following Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock: Core Essentials, Vintage Collection, Chocolate Box Collection.

How She Did It: “The background paper was distressed using a Heidi Swapp edge distresser. Journaling lines were created using the “stylus from the back” technique before sanding to reveal the colored core. The green frame border was created by cutting out the center of the paper, then sandwiching the paper between the embossing folder. I used a SNAPPLE BOTTLE (!) to compress the embossing folder to create the impression.”
