Ellen here with some Core’dinations tips for you using Black Magic and Chocolate Box collections.

We love these two lines so much AND after seeing everyone at CHA loving them, too, we thought it would be fun to share a layout using both collections.

Scoring, sanding, and embossing are SO much fun! Who needs patterned paper?

Lydia layered her tree on a Zigzag  Edge  in the Glitter Silk (very much like a postage stamp shape) (Step 2 Layer from the David Tutera Cardmaking System.

Today we are all about Vintage with Designer Andrea Amu! Here is a little bit about her card:

I used all Tim Holtz Kraft Core here.
Scor-Pal product used includes the Score-Bug tool that I used to create a design of perforations for the blue background, and the 1/4″ score tape that I used to add the red torn edge strip to the card base’s right side edge.  I used the Sand It Gadget to sand over all of the Kraft Core’s scored surface and the torn edge to reveal more of the Kraft color and to add to the worn vintage distressed look.  My cuts were done using the Ashlyn’s Alphabet Cricut cartridge and the ornate tree die cut was embellished with some Diamond Dust glass glitter and Queen & Co. Bling pearls.
And a close up of that cool detail from the Scor Bug!
Don’t forget!   We are sponsoring DAY THREE of  Scrapbook & Cards today’s 12 Days of giveaways. You have until NOON Dec 22nd 2012 to post on their blog HEREto win ONE EACH of our 6×6 collection packs!

First up we have important giveaway information. We are sponsoring DAY THREE of  Scrapbook & Cards today’s 12 Days of giveaways. You have until NOON Dec 22nd 2012 to post on their blog HERE to win ONE EACH of our 6×6 collection packs!

If you were here earlier then you know we are having a super fun week with SCOR PAL. Do you have one of these?  Well, if you are a paper craft you better. AND if you love Core, then  you BETTER! Scoring, then sanding with Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock is the only way to go.

Today we have some gorgeous designs from Designer Shaunte Wadley. She created this beautiful flower on the card just by using some simple scoring. The flower is a Lifestyle Crafts die so you could really do this with any flower.

See how Shaunte scores from the back?  That is important so the raised line is on the front of the cardstock. Especially when you are sanding.

And a close-up of it on the card. Keep in mind sanding the Gemstones will take off the shine so you may not want to sand it.

AND Shaunte  created her frame on this card by scoring and using the VERY FUN Scor Bug Embosser!!! It makes these fun dots that look so great sanded.

AND she scored the woodgrain on the branch using some Vintage Cardstock. So you can see all the really amazing details you can get on your projects just by scoring and sanding. The base of the card is Whitewash.

And another card for you from Shaunte using Core Essentials and loads of scoring.

Bling is from Queen & Co and Ribbon is from May Arts.

Stampendous, Tim Holtz Kraft-Core, and Ranger Distress Stains

WE ARE STILL GOING STRONG WITH THE CROP!

ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT! Make sure you check out the Master Challenge List HERE.

Did you know that our friends over at Stampendous have a very fun challenge for us for our Hard Core {Holiday} Crop??

Check it out HERE. All you need is some Core and stamps!!!! And the winner will get a pack of our Darks Collection pack. The rich tones of this cardstock is PERFECT for this time of year.

Designer April Derrick has a layout for us! Stampendous has the CUTEST and FUNNIEST sentiments for Holidays like this Tinsel one that April used.  And she always ROCKS the Ranger and we all know how great the Distress Inks and stains go well with kraft.

Products used:

Core: Tim Holtz Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection, Tim Holtz Kraft Core Seasonal Impressions, Core Tags
Stampendous Products: Boss Gloss, Shabby Pink Pastel Embossing Enamel, Glitter, Cling Poinsettia Background stamp, & Cling Tinsel Tangle Stamp
Queen & Co., Twinkle Goosebumps, Twinkle Motifs, Pearls

* Tinsel tip 1: I sanded over the embossed words just a little, and then I stained them with Ranger’s Distress Stain. I gently wiped the excess stain off with a paper towel and repeated the process once more to darken the color. As you can see from this layout, the Kraft-Core from the Nostaglia line and the Seasonal Impressions core’dinate perfectly!

* Tinsel tip 2: I used a damp paint brush to apply Beacon Fast Finish Decoupage to the Tim Holtz Kraft Core Seasonal Impressions cardstock and then I quickly dropped some fine snow white glitter from Stampendous all over it. It dries in no time flat and then you have super sparkly embossed cardstock!

And just one more close up for you to get all this goodness :)

Especially our Core Tags..they ROCK!
