Merry Christmas Banner

Christmas is such a wonderful time of year! I love this season, and everything that goes along with it. One of my favorite things to do each holiday is to create fun home decor for my home. Sometimes it’s a sign, or framed art, or a banner. This year I put together this fun Merry Christmas Banner. Today I’m sharing the tutorial with you, so you can make your very own for your home.

Merry Christmas Banner Supplies:

Step 1. Take your banner pieces and trace them onto the back of your Red Carpet and Apple Martini Core Couture Glitter Cardstock. When tracing, place the front of the banner piece down on the back of the paper, so that the lines line up when they are all cut out. Also, just in case the wood pieces aren’t exactly the same, I traced each individual piece, marking which letter it was for. I also marked the cardstock.

Step 2. Using your scissors, cut the banner pieces out of your cardstock.

Step 3. Using the Darice Wood Glue and sponge brush, put a thin layer on your wood banner pieces.

Step 4. Place your paper down onto the banner piece, use the vinyl squeegee to get the paper nice and smooth. You may also want to put something that is flat and has a little bit of weight on top of the banner piece for a few minutes, while the glue dries.

Step 5. After the glue is dry, turn your banner piece over and use your hole punch to punch out the holes.

Step 6. Using the Sand-it Gadget, sand all the edges of your banner pieces, making the paper edges nice and smooth.

Step 7. Using an electronic die cutting machine, cut letters out of the White Gloves Core Couture Glitter Cardstock. Place dimension squares on the back of the letters.

Step 8. Place letters onto the banner pieces.

Step 9. Thread ribbon through the holes, putting your banner together.

Step 10. Leave a little bit of space between each banner piece.

Step 11. Use the coordinating ribbon and tie some strands between each banner piece.

That is it, you are ready to hang up your banner!

Fall Candle Wreath with May Arts Ribbon

There is something about cool weather season, that really makes me enjoy staying in, and adding some fun seasonal decor to my home.  I found this grapevine wreath at my local craft store, and decided to use it to give a large pillar candle a make-over.  This is such an easy project, and works well for different holidays and themes.

candle-wreath-CoredinationsFall Mini-Wreath Candle Holder Supplies:

Step  5.  Hot glue the leaves onto the wreath.

Step 6.  Tie a bow with the striped ribbon and glue on the wreath to finish.
