Graphic 45 Christmas Wall Art

Hi everyone, It’s Joann with you today to share a fun Christmas project.  This week Core’dinations and Graphic 45 are doing a blog hop, stop by and check it out for a chance to win some great prizes.  With the Christmas season fast approaching I remembered one of my favorite traditions.  Every year the family goes to see the local production of the Nutcracker so I dug out my G45 Nutcracker paper collection and this is what I came up with.

To make this project follow these steps:

Step 1. Cut all of your pieces out in the paper you choose.  I used a White card stock.

G45-Wall-Art-Step-1

Step 2. Assemble your shadow boxes.  Each of the boxes except for the largest one is 2 pieces the same size so matching them up is easy.

G45-Wall-Art-Step-2

Step 3. Attach the largest frame to the front panel and then start attaching the individual shadow boxes starting in a corner and working your way out.

G45-Wall-Art-Step-3

Step 4. Once all the shadow boxes have been attached, fasten on the back panel.

G45-Wall-Art-Step-4

Step 5.  Cut a piece of your Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Seasonal Impressions and using your Sand It Gadget, sand all the panels to show off that lovely embossing. Don’t forget yo use your Dust Buddy to clean-up the dust!  Once you are finished your sanding attach the pieces to the front of the assembled unit and start decorating!

3D Pilgrim Hat Box

Hi there Core Fans!  It’s Joann and I am really excited to be here today to share a fun 3D table top decoration which I think is perfect for the upcoming Thanksgiving season!  I loved this design so much that all I wanted to do was emboss and lightly sand the fantastic Core Cardstock for a bit of a Vintage look and feel.  After you lightly sand your paper don’t forget to use your Dust Buddy to clean away the dust!

Pilgrim-Hat-Box-Coredinationsand as a bonus this opens up so you can use it as a gift box for a little something sweet!

To make this hat follow these steps.  To make things clearer I am showing the steps before the embossing was done.  Please emboss and sand your paper first.

Step 1. Cut the lid, base and brim out of black cardstock. The belt around the lower part of the hat from gray cardstock and the buckle from yellow cardstock.

Step 1

Step 2. Score all lines so they fold into the the back of the paper and fold the hat into position so you can see where to glue.

Step 2

Step 3. Apply a liquid adhesive to all the tabs.

Step 3

Step 4. Carefully worked your way around the hexagon attaching the sides of the lid.

Step3a

Step 5. Build the inside piece of the box the same way and place the base inside the lid to help it keep it’s form.   Apply adhesive to the tabs and carefully center it on the brim.

An A-Maize-ing Day Card

Hi friends!  It’s Joy here, sharing a fun fall card with you today!

An A-Maize-ing Day Card Supplies:

Step 1. Use the Silhouette Cameo to cut out all of the pieces that create the harvest corn from the SVGCuts.com Enchanted Autumn SVG kit.  I’m using Core’dinations Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered Collection Cardstock to create all of the visible layers.  I’m also using the 6×6 sized cardstock which fits perfectly on a mat for most die cut machines.  I like to use a Cricut mat with my Silhouette Cameo but it will fit on a Cameo mat too.

Step 2.  After the corn is cut out, glue the pieces together.  I resized my pieces to fit a standard A2 card, so they easily fit through the Xyron 3″ Sticker maker.

Step 3.  For dimension, use foam pop dots between some of the layers!

Step 4.  I decided to cut a piece of Core’dinations Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered Collection Cardstock to cover the top of the Core’dinations A2 Kraft Cards I’m using.  I also cut another piece for my embossed sentiment.

Step 5.  Using Joy’s Life It’s All Fall Puns stamp set, I stamped onto the Core’dinations cardstock with Versamark and then heat embossed the saying with fine gold embossing powder.

Step 6. Before I was finished I cut a few more strips of paper and glued them down to add more focus to the sentiment.  After tying on some twine, adding a button and some adhesive gems, the card was complete.  Well, almost.  I then decided to use a corner rounding paper punch and round all of the corners of the card.  Ta da!  All done!

Back to School 3D Pencil and Card

Hi everyone!  I’m Joy and today I’m super happy to be sharing this project with you using Core’dinations great products!

Supplies:

3d pencil pieces4

Step 1: Cut the pencil 3D and card shapes using Core’dinations Neutrals and Bright Color cardstock along with solid black and white.  They cut so well!  A little side note: At first I cut the pencil card background in white but later I went back and cut it out in grey to match the band near the eraser of the 3D pencil.  I thought that just looked better color-wise to match both project pieces.

Step 2: Emboss the pencil pieces as desired.  Here, I’m using the wood grain background folder.

Step 3:  Sand the pieces using the Core’dinations Sand It Gadget.  That revealed a lighter color yellow on these pieces.  That’s so cool!

Step 4: Adhere the pieces.  I used my Xyron machine to add adhesive to the backs of these pieces.  Then I added them to the pencil.

Isn’t all that sanded texture great?!

backToSchooTag2

Step 5:  Create a tag.  I cut a small tag from the Core’dinations Bright Assorted Tags even smaller and backed it with a piece of Core’dinations black cardstock.

Step 6:  Stamp a sentiment.  Keep in mind that stamping on textured paper can give an uneven stamped image.  You can fill in any spotty places with a marker.  I did!

Step 7:  Sand the tag and tie ribbon to finish the look.

That huge roll of Smarties can fit into the 3D pencil!

Now your project is ready for gift giving! Happy crafting! ~Joy
