Hi! Jill from Every Day is an Occasion  here to share a St. Patrick’s Day Craft with you. Seriously, how much fun is St. Patrick’s Day? We love it here in Notre Dame country! Today I have a cute little kids treat and then I decided to make a grown up version of it too! There are 2 free printables for you, so just click on the links and download!

Rainbow Seeds

St. Patrick's Day Craft by Every Day is an Occasion

To create these rainbow seeds, I used a pail from Darice and filled it with Skittles. Then I used this cut from the Silhouette store to cut out a shamrock on Spotted Core. If you do not have a Silhouette fear not, here is a template for you to cut some out. Then I sanded the core with my Sand-It tool. I just love how it makes the spots pop just by sanding it!

St. Patrick's Day Kids Craft

Then I used some fun fur to tie around the handle and this free printable on my blog. To print the free printable, I used Core’dinations 8 1/2×11 white 110 lb cardstock. My printer loves it!! To create the flourish cut around the leprechaun tag, I used this Flourish Slim punch from Hobby Lobby. That’s it pretty easy peasy.

St. Patrick’s Day Treat

Here is another St. Patrick’s Day treat idea that is for a different age range.

This was created the same way as I mentioned above, but I used Sixlets from Darice and a printable I created, which you can download here… Happy St. Patrick’s Day

 Happy St. Patrick's Day

Thanks a bunch for stopping by and checking out my projects!

I hope that you are able to use the free printable with some 110 lb white core!

And we have a layout from Jennifer Edwardson! See we are LUCKY!!! Here is a little bit about this layout from Jennifer….

I found this lucky clover placemat cut file at the Silhouette online store and thought it would super fun on a 12 x 12″ layout.

I started with one of my fave bases – Spotted Jillian Dot in white and then adhered this clover ‘placemat’ that I cut using spring green from the Graphic 45 Lights collection …..

I cut up a 4 x 6″ Bell Blvd. journalling card and added my photos to create a line across the middle of the layout ….

I added my journalling and some faux stitching around the edge of the placemat as well as onto the chip alphas for my title.

This is a simple layout but I love how it all came together with this great Core’dinations cardstock !!

Supplies:
  • Spotted Jillian Dot Cardstock – Snowflake
  • Signature Series Graphic 45 – Spring Green
  • Sand It Gadget
  • Dust Buddy
  • Misc: Bella Blvd. journaling card & chip alphas

Shaunte Wadley has some cute custom holiday earrings with Glittersilk and some Mod Podge, for us today!
Here is the step-out tutorial:

Using a craft punch, die-cut or electronic cutting machine- cut four small shamrock shapes. Two of the shamrocks should be cut in the opposite directions so the four shapes can be sandwiched together front to back.

1

Using your Xyron adhesive, adhere the shapes together.

2 3

Using a small hole punch, or a needle, create a hole where you would like the shamrock to hang.

4

Lay the (double sided) shamrock flat, and apply Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to entire surface of shamrock. Allow to dry fully.

5
Flip shamrocks over, and apply Dimensional Magic to entire surface of reverse side.
Using a needle, go through holes again (to clear out Dimensional Magic) , and insert a small jump ring into hole.  Attach earring hook to jump ring.

6
Finished earrings! (Attached to David Tutera Step mini card- cute gift giving idea!

The DImensional Magic gives the finished earring stability and the look of enamel. They are very sturdy, and do not look like paper at all .A great way to make cute seasonal earrings for every holiday for pennies.

Nothing sets the stage for a holiday like a banner! Core’dinations has the PERFECT color for you for all your St Patrick’s Day needs…it’s Shamrock Green!

Mary Pat Siehl created this banner just for us today…ENJOY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know I sound like a broken record but I LOVE my Core for home decor items.  I love to give my family room a little facelift with each holiday that comes around.  As soon as March 1st comes my family room has accents of green for St. Patrick’s day!  My mantel needed a little lift and I made a little fun banner! I used my Silhouette to cut out my banner but you could easily hand cut any shape or use a template.  I started with my Core Essentials and and made a base in yellow.  I then cut my top layer and embossed it using a Darice Shamrock embossing folder.  I lightly sanded it to expose the inner core and the shamrocks.  I layered it onto of my yellow with some foam tape.  ( I love to add dimension to my projects).  Next  I grabbed my Core Couture Glitter cardstock in Five Star and punched some circles.  Again foam taping them on to the base.  Next I cut out the work Lucky using the  Rodeo Drive from the Glitter collection and adhered it on to the circle.  So much fun for our family room.
Here is a close up of a banner piece.  You can see all the glitter and the fun embossing.
As I mentioned before I love dimension and here is a close up of the layers of all the pieces.  This really makes it Pop!
