Nothing sets the stage for a holiday like a banner! Core’dinations has the PERFECT color for you for all your St Patrick’s Day needs…it’s Shamrock Green!

Mary Pat Siehl created this banner just for us today…ENJOY!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know I sound like a broken record but I LOVE my Core for home decor items.  I love to give my family room a little facelift with each holiday that comes around.  As soon as March 1st comes my family room has accents of green for St. Patrick’s day!  My mantel needed a little lift and I made a little fun banner! I used my Silhouette to cut out my banner but you could easily hand cut any shape or use a template.  I started with my Core Essentials and and made a base in yellow.  I then cut my top layer and embossed it using a Darice Shamrock embossing folder.  I lightly sanded it to expose the inner core and the shamrocks.  I layered it onto of my yellow with some foam tape.  ( I love to add dimension to my projects).  Next  I grabbed my Core Couture Glitter cardstock in Five Star and punched some circles.  Again foam taping them on to the base.  Next I cut out the work Lucky using the  Rodeo Drive from the Glitter collection and adhered it on to the circle.  So much fun for our family room.
As I mentioned before I love dimension and here is a close up of the layers of all the pieces.  This really makes it Pop!
Tracy Lucky Card:
I’m getting into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit by making a few cards! Green is my favorite color, so naturally I had a blast making these green-filled cards. My first card used a bit of embossing, sanding, coloring, and die-cutting. Start with a piece of green card stock from the Darks Essentials pad and emboss it with the Plaid Darice embossing folder. Then, sand over the embossed part with the Sand-It Gadget. Next, use the different colored green card stocks from the Vintage Collection, Brights Essentials pad, and Pastels Essentials Collection. Use the Lawn Fawn dies to die cut the letters out of the light green piece. Then, emboss that piece with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and sand over it with the Sand It Gadget. Behind the embossed letters, attach a small piece of Copper Shimmer Glitter Silk card stock. Adhere all of those layers together. Lastly, stamp and color the Paper Smooches image on a piece of the 110 lb. white card stock.
Tracy Lucky To Know You Card:
Start off with an A2 sized card base made with a piece of Tim Holtz Kraft Core. Usually I stray away from using a black card base, because you can’t write on the inside of the card easily, but by using the Kraft Core card stock, the inside is now kraft. Next, emboss a piece of gray card stock with the chevron embossing folder and sand it with the Sand It Gadget. Cut the shamrock from the A Child’s Year Cricut cartridge at 2.5.” Emboss that with the Swiss Dots embossing folder and sand it with the Sand It Gadget. Then, use a piece of light green card stock from the Pastels Essentials pad and stamp the sentiment with black ink in the lower right hand corner. Use green chevron ribbon to tie a bow and attach the shamrock with Tombow 3D Foam Tabs.
St Patty’s Day layout featuring Tim Holtz Shattered Cardstock
So how about a St. Patricks’ Day layout featuring Tim Holtz Kraft-Core Shattered Cardstock.
This entire layout is  Shattered cardstock except for: the Core Tags (journaling) Glitter Silk (Shamrocks, title) Core Couture (pennants).  Loving that scoring detail around the edges?  Break out your Scor-Pal. It’s easy and looks GREAT!  Remember to Scor from the back and sand the front for that great detail.
Shaunte used gold ink and rubbed it into the lighter shade of the Shattered cardstock. This detail shot shows the gold color it turned the cardstock, and seeped down into the cracks. I sprayed it with glitter spray too. Never too much bling, right?!!? And love how Shaunte makes these flags with the Queen & Co. washi!!!!
LOVE IT! Hope this inspires you to scrap those St Patty’s day layouts!
