Andrea used the Signature Series Cardstock on this altered box and some Tim Holtz Kraft Core (red). She painted it, crackled it and how about that ornate Graphic 45 door knob! And you need some great adhesive for this kind of project, too, and Glue Arts works perfectly.

Happy Friday!

(edited with last month’s winner)

First up we want to Congratulate Courtney! She is the winner for last month’s Colour Challenge.  Email ellen.sosnoski@coredinations.com with your address information. Prizes will not go out until September 12  due to us being out of the office at an event.

Here is the cute card she made.  Love all the great Cricut work and the glossy accents. A GREAT example of how Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock can be your go to cardstock for any project.

You can see her entry here on her blog.

Now it is time to live with September’s Colour Challenge!!!

It is all about colour for sure.

Again, our inspiration piece comes from our Pinterest Colour Lover’s Board. Every Month Design Team Member Lydia Jackson gets the incredibly difficult task of choosing one of the beautiful color schemes found in Pinterest.

This month it is all  about back to school!

What is better than rainbow crayons???

Our Core Essentials line is PERFECT for this challenge. LOADS AND LOADS of gorgeous colours…..

Design Team Member Debbie Standard Created this fun card using this colour inspiration using loads of embossing and sanding:

AND…Debbie created a layout, too.

The great thing about this inspiration piece is that you don’t have to use every single colour like Debbie did here.  She focused on the blue, red, yellow, orange and brown. Looks awesome, don’t you agree?  The Stacy Julian Line Core Impressions is great for this challenge as well. No one does Colour like Stacy!

Remember you must use Core’dinations Cardstock on your project and link back to THIS post by September 30th or link us up on our Facebook page.

Happy Friday Everyone! We are back on track with our Fabulous Friday Finds.  About a month or so ago, Jolene Johnston linked our Facebook Page with some amazing cards. I sent her a message asking if we could feature them here on the blog and she said, yes! Well, it gets better….she created a BRAND  new project for us!   So, if you want to see those gorgeous cards click here to go our Facebook Page and check them out. And if you want to see more of her work, click here for Jolene’s blog.

Now let’s check out the amazing details on this layout!

1.) The inking of the embossed dots on the Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions.

2.)  How she mixed the different lines together (Core Essentials, Jenni Bowlin Core Impressions, Black Magic and Chocolate Box)

3.) All the different techniques…punching, embossing, sanding, tearing (see close up below)

4.) AND, yes there’s more if you look closely…Jolene used a neutral piece of Core Essentials as her base for this layout. Remember, Core’dinations Cardstock can be your go to cardstock for all of your needs!

5.) AND Jolene used some awesome stamps (one of my favorites) from our preferred partner myStamp Box!

6.)  Those great photos of that handsome boy :)

close up:

And another gorgeous layout. The monochromatic feel is gorgeous, especially with embossed patterns.

Love the two embossed patterns together!!!

Make sure you tell Jolene how much you enjoyed her work!  We sure did! Have a great weekend.

So do you want to see our Make-n-Takes from CHA???   They were so CUTE and everyone loved them. They really showed off Core’dinations Cardstock and how versatile it is.   So bust our your Fiskars Paper Crimper and let’s get started.  And we want to give a huge shout out to Glue Arts for supplying us with the Extreme Adhesive Glue Squares for this. They worked brilliantly!

Hats off to Design Team Member Lydia Jackson for this awesome idea and Tutorial!

Steps to create Flower:

1. On the back of a 3×3 piece of cardstock draw a loose spiral.

2. Then tear the spiral shape, tearing away from your body.

3. Sand the torn edges of the flower to make them look antique

4.  Using petal roller or quilling tool, roll flower from the inside edge of the outer ring of the swirl

5.  When you get the the center circle, remove the flower from the tool.

6. Place an Glue arts adhesive square on the center circle and push the flower into it to hold.

Steps for Creating the Leaf:

1. Fold green cardstock in half.

2. Run it through a paper crimper on a 45 degree angle.

3. Cut  (or Tear) a half leaf shape along the fold.

4. Unfold and sand the textured side.

5 Adhere leaves to the bottom of your flower.

Voila you have a beautiful Core-sage!

We are heading back to the basics with Core Essentials Cardstock this week. The Core Essentials Cardstock is perfect for any project. Even though it’s fun to emboss and sand the to the core of our Black Magic and Chocolate Box cardstocks, don’t forget how great Core’dinations Cardstock can be for the essential cardstock on any project.

Debbie Standard created this layout with just the basics. By just using different shades of blue Core Essentials and some Whitewash, she created depth and movement on this gorgeous page!
