Now on to this weeks festivities. First up we have Shaunte Wadley working some Pride layouts. I don’t know about you but I JUST got my summer photos printed so I am going to be reaching for this paper pack for sure.  I just love how Shaunte works the 12×12 sticker sheet here with all the little bits you can make with them.  She creates her own little embellies al over the page with the tags and banners.  Layouts are easy with Core’dinations  and Authentique!

And when you are done here make sure you head over to the Authentique blog for inspiration and a giveaway, too!

And another Pride layout from Suzanna Lee:
Wanting to stick with the Independence day theme of the Authentique papers that I received, I wanted to create a coordinating background using Coredinations. I traced a Crafters Workshop stencil/mask with an embossing stylus on a piercing mat then sanded the raised “self embossed” pattern.

Today Ava Gavloski created an awesome tag that has a really masculine feel to it. I don’t know about you but I could really use more of these for those last minute gifts for the men in my life!

Here I used the Ahoy Matey stamps from Inspired by Stamping and paired this stamp set with the Core’dinations Vintage Collection.
You can really see how well the double sided Core’dinations Cardstock can stretch your options as a designer within the craft industry.  The blue and golden brown tones of this cardstock gives you the sand and sea effect co-ordinating well with the stamp set.

I used the Darice Birch embossing folder to give some weathered board texture and the tearing of the Core’dination cardstock gives the feel of waves rolling to shore.

I love that we have such a mix of styles on our team!   Designer Jill Lebbin really works the CAS look but don’t let that you fool you. There are some amazing details on this card. Jill used her Crafter’s Workshop stencil so keep reading on how she did it….

I heat embossed the balloon using my Darice heat tool. I laid down the TCW stencil and used Ferro from Viva with a putty knife on top and smoothed it over … a technique I learned from CHA!  The ferro is charcoal color and I got it from Hobby Lobby.  I wish computers would allow you to touch the card bc the ferro makes the card 3d almost because it dries hard.  It’s like a putty paste . It seriously is THE COOLEST stuff!!

Bleach Pen…what?!

Remember those fun stamping techniques you can do with bleach pens???

Well..I was cleaning out some older Design team projects and came across this awesome layout from Designer April Derrick using her bleach pen and one of the FAB stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop.  How cool is that?  The cardstock is Chocolate Box so see how the bleach goes through the first layer of the brown wash and that cool red core comes through?!

And next Apri mixed some My Mind’s Eye Core Impressions with Tim Holtz Kraft Core….mix and match those Core collections for maximum impact. Then layer them on some Black Magic …who needs patterned paper????

A SHATTERING Tuesday Tutorial

Designer April Derrick has an awesome tutorial for us on this fine Tuesday featuring TONS of Tim Holtz Shattered cardstock. it is so versatile and this entire layout is cardstock!

First up, take your Crafter’s Workshop stencil and trace the template:

Next, using your craft knife, cut along the pencil lines:

You will already begin to see the gorgeous sunburst shape!

Now it is time to sew. Stitching on layotus never gets old! Layer the No. 7 Shattered cardstock on the No. 15 and you have a really great contrasting look.

And now for the final layout.  April added some embellishments and a Step Two layer from David Tutera Celebrate cardmaking system. LOVE that postage stamp layer…it looks GREAT on layouts, too!
