Hi All! Tami Mayberry here with you today. I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for Spring. Even though we are in the middle of Winter here I still like to create projects with flowers and dream of warmer weather. Today I have one of those projects to share with you using some Core’dinations Tim Holtz Distress Collection cardstock- and dies from Sizzix by Tim as well. Not only is it filled with layers of texture, it can be used for any occasion and created in any color you desire!
Tattered Floral Tag Supplies:
- Core’dinations Tim Holtz Distress Collection cardstock
- Core’dinations Sand It Gadget
- Sizzix Tim Holtz dies: Tattered Florals (#656640), Framelits 8pk Tag Collection (#658784); Garden Greens (#659436)
- Wooden button
- Rose-colored thread
- Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L®: 3D Foam squares, adhesive dots, EZ Runner
- Tombow Mono Adhesive
Step 1: Die-cut largest tag shape from Linen cardstock and hole reinforcement from Black Soot cardstock. Sand edges; adhere together.
Step 2: Die-cut vine shape from Forest Moss and Peeled Paint cardstocks. Add veins to leaves using stylus. Sand and shape as desired. Adhere Forest Moss layer to tag using feature photo as a guide and trimming as needed. Layer Peeled Paint layer on top of previous layer adhering only along stems and curving leaves upward.
Step 3: Die-cut two flower shapes from Victorian Velvet cardstock and one from Tattered Rose cardstock; sand lightly. Shape layers as desired; layer together as shown alternating colors and using foam squares in between layers. Adhere assembled flower to tag.
Step 4: Thread button with thread. Attach to center of flower using adhesive dot.
We have been hanging out with Heidi Swapp all week and let me tell you how inspired I am! Wow…their team is incredible. I love the attention to detail and the inspiration. Did you see Maridette’s interactive layout yesterday? I mean WOW! Definitely on my to do list to try.
On Wednesday’s Heidi takes over their blog so make sure you head over there today for some great ideas. I love her videos on the My Craft Channel. Today our team is working some more Mixed Company and some Believe Heidi Swapp projects.
First up Tracy Gruber!
I loved pairing the colors in the Heidi Swapp Mixed Company collection with the different Core’dinations cardstocks! This confetti paper is so fun and really reminds me of the texture of Core’dinations with the dots so why not pair it with the turquoise cardstock from the Spotted Tillie Dot and the light pink from the Pastels paper pad? Simply sand over both of them with your Sand It Gadget…it’s that easy! I also cut 1 inch circles, embossed them with an embossing folder, and sanded them to create what looks like a scalloped border using the Navy from the Darks Collection pad. I cut down the patterned paper to 11.5 x 11.5 inches and matted the whole thing with a piece of gray Core’dinations from the Neutrals paper pad. I like how this makes the Mixed Company patterned paper really “pop”. To create the embellishments, I used my Spellbinder’s circles to cut the patterns from a piece the Mixed Company Good Life paper They look like premade embellishments!
And a close up…
Tracy does such a great job on this card by mixing and matching the stripes and dots and adding some of the fun Heidi Swapp Chipboard stickers. They are the perfect accent for any card or layout. Just put them on my wish list
I thought it would be fun to create a card using the extra supplies from my layout! I used the same turquoise Spotted Tillie Dot and some patterned paper from the Mixed Company Collection. I added some stickers and crinkle ribbon to complete my card!
And guess what we have in store for you tomorrow and Friday? The gorgeous Heidi Swapp Believe Collection!
Here is a little sneak of this collection from Clare Buswell…don’t go far, you will want to see more of this Holiday collection this week. Loving how Clare used the Jingle All the Way 12×12 sheet for her sentiment on this card. Who doesn’t love some chalkboard and this sheet makes it EASY! No stamping…no mess…just some scissors.
Make card from cardstock. Emboss Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection cardstock, sand with Sand-It gadget and wipe with Dust Buddy. Ink edges with Distress Ink and adhere to card front. Add lace, ribbon and ric rac. Layer sentiment panel onto patterned paper, ink edges and machine stitch border, adhere to card with foam pads. Attach holly, string and bells embellishments.
Happy Wednesday Everyone! Today we have some gorgeous gorgeous creations from Designer Vivian Keh. She creates the most gorgeous rolled flowers! And then there is a layout…some Chocolate Box cardstock from the Fancy Pants Core Impressions line ….something for EVERYONE today! And a detail of that flower…SWOOOOOON!Hello Core’dinations fans! Vivian here today to share with you an elegant floral card using a muted palette of Core’dinations Cardstock. I used a warm beige from the Core’dinations Jenni Bowlin “Everyday” Collection for my card base, sanding the decorative leaf pattern already conveniently pre-embossed in this cardstock. I layered an elegant grey from the Neutral Collection that I had embossed with a great Sizzix embossing folder. For the blossom, I die-cut and sanded the pieces for nice shabby appeal, piercing with a simple brad to hold the bloom together. To finish, I added a bit of distress ink on all pieces, some bling and pretty seam binding.
Hope you enjoyed my project today, and thanks for looking! For more of my inspirations, please visit me on my blog!

Need a wedding card? Look no further!I love the aqua/ chocolate brown color pairing in just about everything, from papercrafts to home decor – both fresh and comforting. For today’s project, I used Core’dinations Fancy Pants Designs”Refreshed” Collection, which delivers that comforting chocolate embossed in a variety of designs as well as your pick of pretty pastels that are also pre-embossed. This makes for great papercrafted projects in a variety of themes.
I sanded all the layers and die-cuts and added distress ink to the edges. The sentiment was stamped using watermark ink and then heat embossed with embossing powder. Just a little bit of embellishment and this card was done.Supplies:Core’dinations – Fancy Pants Core Impressions “Refreshed” Collection, Venetian Lace (Cream Color) Cardstock, Sand-It Gadget, Dust BuddySizzix – Bigz Die “Butterflies and Labels”Hampton Art – “Happily Ever After” Clear Stamp SetTim Holtz – Distress Ink

I chose several bold colors from Core’dinations Darks Collection, which have great grounding colors that are perfect for masculine projects. As you can see in the detail shot, there is so much easy interest one can create with Core – die-cut it, paper-punch it, sand it, tear it, emboss it, crimp it, distress it, stamp it. All of these were used in this layout. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination! The story of how my husband and I met is really special. And both of us still can’t believe how serendipitous our meeting truly was. Hence, the “when pigs fly” stamping on my background, using the great kraft side of our Tim Holtz Kraft Core Cardstock with a simple black ink. His smile, and humorous personality brought levity to the rather challenging moment in our lives captured here on film. I simply layered a bunch of Core elements on top of a piece of old book paper, topping off with a little bling and some scrunched up mulberry paper that I had misted.Supplies:Core’dinations – Darks Collection, Tim Holtz Kraft Core, Venetian Lace (Cream Color), Sand-It Gadget, Dust BuddyDarice – Dominoes Embossing Folder

For the past two weeks we have been giving away prizes EVERY DAY while we introduce our brand new 2013-2014 Design Team and today we are introducing Vivan Keh!
I go completely bonkers about nature and the garden, hence my nickname on various social media platforms – Contadina K. The pooches and I are happiest when we are hangin’ out in the garden. And when inspiration in the craft studio lags, all I need to do is step out back and stroll around.
This year on the Design Team, I’m looking forward to working with even more of the beautiful hues and rich textures of Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock. Nothing would make me happier than being able to inspire you along the way!

Do you LOVE Pinterest?
We sure do! And our Tuesday Tip is to head over there when you are needing some inspiration AND make sure you follow us here and check out our Color Lover’s board. We just love color here at Core. AND, for the second part of our Tuesday Tip, we make it easy by core’dinating our different lines so color matching is easy for you.
This month’s inspiration piece is from the gorgeous pottery from Anthropolgy (who doesn’t love these??!?!?!)
And here is Design Team Member Kim Jeffress’s take on the inspiration piece. Kim used the BRAND NEW and SHIPPING NOW 12″ Cut and Emboss strips in the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Distress and Adirondack on her layout with a very cool 12″ embossing folder from Darice. And see that fun tag in the upper right hand corner from our Core Tags collection? It Core’dinates perfectly with the 12″ strip so your colour matching is easy!
