To make this project follow these steps.

Step 1. Cut out all your pieces in the cut file in the colors you desire.  For the designer paper use Graphic 45 The 12 Days of Christmas Paper Collection.  Once your pieces are cut assemble the base of the card as shown.

Fancy-Fold-Step1

Step 2. Using another piece of your Tim Holtz Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection, emboss the card stock using the Dreamweaver Holiday Greetings & Holly Embossing Folder.

Fancy-Fold-Step2

Step 3. Sand the embossed piece using your Sand It Gadget and don’t forget to clean up with your dust buddy!  An easier way to keep your work area a little cleaner is to sand the pieces on a piece of printer paper!  Once you have sanded your piece, distress the edges using whatever tool you have.  Once you are finished this can be attached to the front of the card.

Step 4. Finish decorating the card using sentiments from the Stampendous Tis The Season Stamp Set and give to that special someone!

Vintage Paper Ornaments with May Arts Ribbon

Hi everyone, It’s Joann with you today to share a fun little Christmas project using Core’dinations and May Arts Ribbon.  Here are some Vintage Christmas Ornaments that are really fun and easy to decorate.  These ornaments feature vintage trim, cord and burlap string from May Arts as we are lucky enough to be hoping with them this week!

Look a little closer at the detail on one of them.  Another option would be to add glitter for a more sparkly version of these beauties!

Vintage Ornament Supplies:

To make this project follow these steps.

Step 1: Cut all of your pieces out in the paper you choose.  I used a combination of White, Glitter and Vintage papers for the color combination I wanted but you can use whichever paper you desire.

Vintage-Ornament-Step1

Step 2: Assemble your ornament and once complete it will look like this.

Vintage-Ornament-Step2

Step 3: Using your Sand It Gadget, sand your panels that form the top of the ornament to show off that lovely embossing.  Don’t forget yo use your Dust Buddy to clean-up the dust!

Vintage-Ornament-Step3

Step 4: Thread through the hole on top, the ribbon or twine you want to use to hang the ornament.  Hint:  If you do not want to see the knot, pass the ribbon or twine from the top down, tie your knot and then the know will be hidden in the top of the ornament.   Once that is complete you can tie closed both the top and bottom of the largest piece of the ornament.  It is good to have an extra hand with this part.  Once you are finished with and the ribbon and twine you can start decorating!

Core’dinations and Xyron all week long!

We are excited to share Xyron projects with you all week long.

CoreHeaderSwap_xyron FB copy

And do not forget to head over to the Xyron blog for MORE inspiration AND a giveaway! I heard a rumour that it might be a sticker maker?!??!?!

Designer Shaunte Wadley is up first with some mixing and matching of Tim Holtz Kraft Core Season Impressions, Kraft-Core and Fancy Pants Core Impressions. And see that super cool strip of pumpkins? Shante used her 2.5 Sticker maker so keep scrolling to check out easy it is to adhere that with Xyron tools.

How is easy is that???

xyron2

It’s like magic…it’s sticky and NO MESS!

xyron3

Here’s a close up of it finished with the die cut layers:

THEN after you sand with your Sand it Gadget, take your chalks and apply desired color for a really cool look! Not sure if you saw Friday’s post but Designer Kate Nolan Denham did that on her layout, too, but with some Black Magic..super cool!

And next up is Designer Vivian Keh working the Black Magic!  Just love how she chose Black Magic for her Thanksgiving card. For some step by step photos check out her blog HERE.

For this card, I used cardstock from our fantastic “Black Magic” Collection.  Since I started playing with this stuff a month or so ago, I literally have not been able to stop crafting with it.  The results are always interesting and unique.  I sanded both my dry embossed background and my paper punched leaves, following that by applying a little pigment ink over the raised areas in a variety of autumn leaf tones.  I used the Xyron 1.5 in Create-A-Sticker machine to adhere the leaves – totally nuts about this tool because it is incredibly fast and convenient for adhering tiny pieces, like die-cut alphas or these leaves, to papercrafted projects.  No sticky, messy, glue-y fingers!  I used the Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the card front to a slightly larger card base – nice strong hold.

And how amazing is this detail and all this color!? Very same concept as Shaunte using chalks but you can use ink, too!
