There is no place better than the beach! And not just during the summer, during those non-summer months, when it’s a little rougher to get to the beach due to the lack of time and return to regular routines. Here is a great way to remind yourself of just how great the beach is and what’s around the corner!
Die – EllenTina Cutting Dies/Tessler Crafts
Cut Files – Kolette Hall Studios (Design ID #43142 and #61944), Hero Arts (Design ID #40428)
Buy yourself a lovely weathered frame and dress it up with some Core’dinations cardstock cut with beachy dies and cut files!
The Kraft Core Shattered collection adds that perfect weathered feel to a beach themed project. So too does sanding add a sand worn effect.
Tucking things between the background and the frame adds a 3D dimension and some added depth to your project. Note how the texture of the Core’dinations cardstock really makes this sea star that much more realistic!

How many types of Core’dinations can you get on one layout? Keep reading to find out!
Core Basics – 110lb White
Suzanna Lee here and I wanted to share with you this pocket page layout created entirely from Core’dinations cardstock. Not a lock of patterned paper in there. Well, there is a smidge of vellum! Guess how many different types of Core there are there? My point being, you don’t have to go out and buy those fancy cards when you can create your own cards from cardstock! Different types and the textures you can create with die cuts, embossing and stamping provide you with all the spice and variety you need!
Embossing and sanding with letter stickers. Overlay color on color for some variation.
Layer Whitewash on Core Essentials that has been embossed and sanded. Layer Gemstones on vellum and stamp.
The man and women were created with the likeness of the bride and groom in mind. I used Maya Road acetate shaped and rubbed with my Sand It Gadget on the paper leaving the outline of the people. I pushed down on the edges in order to create the slightly embossed look.
Did you guess correctly? Seven, 7 types of Core’dinations cardstock in that pocket page!
Hi Everyone, Suzanna Lee here today and just thinking about those lazy summer days… What a I wouldn’t give for a sunset surf today. As spring wraps to a close and summer draws near, my patience wears thin… Just a good soak of the toes in the lake and the serenity of the sun slipping behind the horizon would do me some good right about now! Anybody with me?

For those of you who know me and follow my work, I didn’t tear paper until I found Core’dinations Cardstock. Nope! Not ME. I did on this layout and I absolutely LOVE the finished effect. I won’t lie, it did freak me out a little bit. I mean, come on, how does a Type A, highlighted, bolded and underlined person rip paper without freaking out? Tearing paper is not something you can control, trust me. Until I realized that you don’t want a controlled tear. Go for it! You CAN do it! If I can, I know you can!
See…the more asymmetrical and uneven the BETTER because you can see more CORE!
I flicked a little gold mist along the top layer to add to a layer of depth to the sky, seperating it from the water below.
That tag contains hidden journaling, you can pull it out for the pocket I created in the layers of paper. I loved the clean look of the layout and didn’t want my journaling to disturb that serene look I created. There is nothing private about the journaling, it’s hidden so as not to be a distraction. Did you see the Distress Stickles along the torn edges for some more dimension to the layout?
Happy Friday! Who is ready for some more December Daily inspo from Vivian Keh? I know I am!
Hello, Core fans! Vivian Keh here today to share with you a few more pages from my December Daily. How is yours coming along?
How quickly the days pass when it comes to December Dailies, don’t you agree? I’m having to mark my calendar so I don’t lose track of what I plan to use for each day in December. I’m really glad that I decided to craft this project as the month proceeds instead of ahead of time, because as you can see, the photos very much informed how I chose to design each page. And since December is such a busy month for me and probably for many of you, I decided to keep my pages really simple.
For this page, I paired some lovely colors from the Core’dinations Tim Holtz Nostalgic Kraft Core Collection with a few pretty Kaisercraft patterned papers in order to create a knit-inspired pattern. The shapes were die-cut from a fantastic basic shape Sizzix die called Leaves, Tear Drop.
We have been busy trying to ready our home for about 25 of my in-laws visiting on Christmas day. As of December 1st, the living room was still completely unfurnished, but things are moving along. Part of the preparations involved a trip to IKEA for fast, affordable furnishings – love that place, especially the cafeteria, where we stopped first to fill our tummies with some Swedish meatballs.
I couldn’t get over how many meatballs were heaped on DH’s plate, and of course I teased him about it. Using just a circle punch, I jokingly exaggerated the number of meatballs he consumed. They were all cut from warm brown Core’dinations hues – French Roast and Latte from our Core Essentials, and Hazelnut from the Tim Holtz Adirondack Collection.
My photo on this page features a project made while hubbie was on a business trip. His presence was definitely missed, but I made use of the time, checking off items on the to-do list, crafting projects such as this wreath.
The wreath in the photo uses a beautifully pre-embossed cardstock from Core’dinations’ Core Amour Collection. I created a perfectly coordinated page using the same Core Amour cardstock and a new die that I love, the Sizzix Doily, Classical Lace Bigz Die. If you are curious about the wreath, I have more details on that over on my blog.
Thanks so much for visiting with me today! Wishing you happy holidays filled with much joy and love.
