First up we have Designer Vivian Keh with a few cards that are all about LOVE just in time for that very special Valentine’s Day coming up this week!
Hello, friends! Vivian Keh here today to share with you Valentine’s Day cards that whip up really fast and are great if you have some mass producing to do for this special holiday.
These small cards were die-cut using the lovely Core’dinations’ Core Impressions Basic Grey “Ornate” Collection. These pretty pastels are pre-embossed with feminine patterns, so all you have to do to reveal the texture is swipe the surface with your Sand-It Gadget.
The pretty scalloped edges and perfect cuts are thanks to the Sizzix “Card, Mini Heart” #658478 Bigz Die. One pass cut out the card base as well as all the pretty shapes. Since the die is of the sturdy Bigz type, you can cut several sheets of your Core with one pass of your manual die-cut machine and save loads of time!

Vivian Keh here again to share with you a bit of my love for the softer and subtler Coredinations hues – creams, greys, neutrals – we have such a beautiful and abundant range of these colors available. I’ve been experimenting with our unique color core, sanding and layering pieces of a single hue to create interesting patterns and textures.
For my card project today, I first die-cut beautiful hearts using Core’dinations “Pumice Stone” from the Tim Holtz Distress Collection and a Sizzix “Hearts, True Affections”#658923 die. Sanding the edges of the die-cut pieces brought out the pretty curves in these hearts and added interest to my background.
I paper punched and sanded several pretty blossoms using my favorite Fiskars floral punch with “Spun Sugar,” also from the Tim Holtz Distress Collection. These were all glued to another piece from the same Sizzix die-cut.
Thanks so much for visiting with me here at the Core’dinations blog.

From the Core’dinations Cardstock family we wish you the merriest of Christmases! Be safe and happy today. Enjoy your friends and families on this blessed day!
But of course we have some inspiration for you from Designer Suzanna Lee:
R U Merry? Suzanna here to share with you a card that will be sure to get your recipient ready for the festivities ahead!
Black Magic as a card base is a fantastic way to create a black background for your card yet have a colored cardstock on the inside for writing that important message. Sanded Seasonal Impressions is just like having a patterned paper for the the second layer of your background.
Aren’t the layers of that tree fun? Just pleat some paper a little haphazardly and cut in a triangular shape. Back with a slightly darker shade and adorn with some May Arts garland and sequins ornaments! The tree trunk and white lace are also from May Arts. No Christmas tree is complete without presents underneath so just stamp on some of the amazing 110 pound white cardstock, handcolor and fussy cut for your gifting pleasures.
Top the tree with a Glitter star and hang a banner to convery your greeting!

Today we have designer Vivian Keh working her Tim Holtz magic!
Hello Core fans! Vivian Keh here to share with you a new adventure for me in papercrafting. I’ve never done a December Daily before, mostly because what I’ve seen online has very much revolved around kids’ experiences of this very special month, and our “kids” are only of the furry type. But my friend, Gwen, encouraged me to do one. So here I am today to share a bit of my project with you and hopefully inspire your Core crafting! Mine is going to be a gift for my man, and it’s going to be a collection of everyday bits in the cherished life we share, featuring details that others might perceive as mundane, but which are quite precious to us.
Since it’s a gift for hubbie, I decided to keep the palette masculine, using primarily Core’dinations cardstock from our Tim Holtz “Shattered” and “Seasonal Impressions” Collections. For this effect, I embossed pieces of various sizes with a number of Sizzix embossing folders, and also used Core pieces that were already embossed straight out of the package. After sanding and distressing the pieces, they were stitched into a patchwork.
And the back. On occasion, I will reach for the shimmery stuff, and this Christmas I have been doing quite a lot of it. But initially, I wasn’t inclined to glitz up this project. My crafting buddy, Gwen, threw some Core’dinations Glitter Silk bells on top. Lo and behold, it totally worked and infused this project with holiday cheer!
Core’dinations’ Kraft Core Seasonal Impressions have a lovely variety of typography already embossed into the cardstock. I sanded to reveal the beautiful patterns, added a bit of distress ink on the edges, and a few embellishments.
December 1st was all about getting the house ready for my in-laws who are all visiting on Christmas Day. Folks, the house isn’t furnished yet! So we have been busy “swatching,” painting, IKEA-ing, and sneaking meals in between. This page features Core’dinations Jenni Bowlin Red and Black Collection, which in my opinion is perfect for holiday crafting!
This is my page for December 3rd. A new habit the two of us have picked up is doing the crossword mornings when hubbie doesn’t have to rush off. Each of us have different strengths, which makes collaborating on the more difficult puzzles so much fun. Many of these crossword squares were cut from scraps of pieces I had used for the covers.
Usually we walk the pooches in the morning together, unless my guy has an early morning meeting. December 4th was such a day, so I took a longer route, allowed the dogs to linger and sniff some more, picked up some lovely acorns that are all falling from the trees right now. We’ve got grey squirrels here, and black ones, too. The squirrelys go nuts for the nuts and the dogs go nuts over the squirrels lol! I die-cut these using my Silhouette Cameo and File #11205 from Hero Arts, placing patches of textured Core and patterned paper to fill in the negative space.
I hope you enjoyed my December Daily share today! I will be posting more of it as December barrels ahead on my blog!

How fun is it to take a different perspective on things? I love how Designer Ava Gavloski does it…see that hand-stamped image that Ava cut out? It’s a witch! How cool is that? Ava just layers and layers and layers…it’s amazing!!!
And since we are living in color today…we have some gorgeous creations from designer Kate Nolan Denham, too!
Next time you are making a bright card, don’t be afraid to pull out all kinds of Core’dinations Cardstock. You are sure to find the perfect colors!
And don’t forget! We are cropping FRIDAY! Check out the RULES HERE!
We have three gorgeous layouts from the amazing Debbie Standard!
Debbie creates the most amazing projects…so much detail and SO MUCH CORE! She really demonstrates the entire concept of, ahem, not needing any patterned paper. You can do it!
I love using the White Wash collection – there’s just so many uses for it. For my page here I sanded over the entire sheet so some of the blue tones would come through and then up under the title area I put a piece of cloud chipboard and sanded over it in several different places to simulate the sky and clouds in that area of my page. Then I had two small embossing folders and I used some of the bright cardstock which perfectly matched the little dress and embossed and sanded two small squares. I then used the same paper and scored it around the area of my embossed piece to create little frames. To make the embossed piece stand out I backed it with white. The leaves were all created on my Silhouette machine. As long as you can run these through your Xyron you can sand these delicate pieces before taking them off the backing and applying them to your page. The flowers are all cut with Spellbinder’s Dies. Then I lightly sanded them – you have to be really careful doing this as they are delicate – I find it works best to put my finger in the middle of the flower and then lightly sand the edges of the petals. The larger the flower the easier it is to sand. Then I rolled the petals over my paper piercer and sprayed them with some Maya Road mist. I continued to encourage the edges to curl after misting. After they were dry I added some My Mind’s Eye brads. This adorable little subject is my sister’s bff’s granddaughter, Bridgette.

I just love the dotted collection – both of them – one has larger dots and one smaller. It even comes in the 6 X 6 too! For this I started with a sheet of the blue in the Jillian collection. First I scored a frame around the entire sheet and then I sanded only inside my frame. Then I cut a piece from the Tillie collection in a lighter shade of blue and attached it to top of my page. I then used a sheet of Core Impressions Fancy Pants collection which I sanded and then just cut out the frame from. I made my clouds using a die cut and then cutting it from a sheet of White Wash – these make the best clouds – you can sand them letting the blue come through and they really look like clouds! Then using some of the smooth tags I used one for my title tying a May Arts ribbon around it and another for my journaling. The adorable little subject is my daughter’s bff’s baby – so love that she got these monthly stickers so she can record a picture every month for me!

I saw this wedding photo and immediately knew I would be jumping into my Core Amour collection for this one. I also used some of the Core Pastels which were the colors of her wedding. This particular Amour sheet only requires that you sand across the works. Then I misted it. I used my Silhouette to cut some swirls which I layered down the side of the page. I then used a Martha Stewart punch and placed a small pink ribbon over it. The photo itself I first matted with black, then with pink and then which yellow white I tore around . The flowers and butterfly all came from die cuts which I cut, sanded and then sprayed with Maya Road spray. I let them dry and then put them together and attached to my page. I added some little tiny die cut tags and some prima leaves.

So I was going through some blog posts looking for something and found this project from Ava Gavloski that never posted! This is such a gorgeous idea for that special graduate in your life! I have a freind going to a graduation party this week so hoping we aren’t too late for you.
Here’s what Ava has to say about creating this awesome project:
Are you getting ready for that Graduation Party? Plan ahead and check out your Core’dinations Cardstock to see if you have some color tones that will match the school colors. Try the de-embossed look to your front card panel, sanding lightly give the card a vintage feel. To stamp a clear image on the glitter paper, ink your stamp, lay your stamp face up and then lay your paper onto the stamp and gentle rub your glitter cardstock over the inked stamp image. This technique should give you a clear impression of your image on the glitter cardstock. This card design allows you to use up small bits and pieces from your core stash with the baner and star embellishments.
Dust off that crimper, find some embossing folders that speak to you and get creative with a few layers of your favorite Core’dinations cardstock. Layers are the secret to volume and a feel good texture. So, join me and make that gift bag with layers of Core cardstock that will be a wow the gift presentation.
Here are some detail shots on the gift bag:
And the fun centerpiece! Love how that Core Couture shines!
